    Great review! Compared to newer Tesla’s, is the screen slower? For example, when you touch something, it seems like there is a delay.

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No major delay with touch sensitivity its the scroll, drag, and zoom that exhibits the most notable lag from older MCU to the newer ones. Also boot up time and opening apps is noticeable slower.

    I took delivery of a MX in June and the white seats now seem to always come with black dash material from what I can tell. I'm actually happy with that as some owners complained the white could cause glare- not sure if that was your experience or not.

    Great review! What are you using to charge your phones. We have a model Y that has spoiled us with wireless charging for 2 days phones. We about to get a X and I’m wondering how to charge 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, we use a multi-charger using rhe 12v outlet so we can fast charge. The onboard chargers aren't that fast. However if you are getting a new X it has fast wireless charging so the built-in chargers are perfect

    Thank you for the excellent review. I’d love to learn more about charging, as we are thinking of getting the 2017 X. How fast does it charge from low (

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The 2017 doesn't charge particularly fast so low to 80% is about 40mins. I would highly recommend you look to get a 2020+ X which will go from low to 80% in 20-30mins.

    Did you touch on the cameras? I know 2016 X only has 2 cameras while 2017 has the 8 cameras? And does all 2017 Xs have the new button to push for the falcon doors? Or does it have to be a certain serial number that has the button versus the switch.

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't touch on the cameras but cars build Oct 2016 and April 2019 have hardware 2.0 so 8 cameras us different radars and sensors. Cars built in the calendar year of 2017 and beyond have the new button. When looking for used Teslas use the build date rather than the VIN to determine which features they have. Hope this was helpful.

    I see yours shows “Included Package” for the premium connectivity. That’s what I’m used to seeing when it’s free for life. Do you know if some 2017’s can show a renew date, but it’s still free for life? Example - it’s shows it expires on Dec. 7, 2022. Could that still technically renew for free?

    Thanks for this series. Been thinking about picking up a used one of the wife find the cybertruck to big when it comes out. My question is with a child seat in the back can 2 adults still sit comfortably beside the child seat to fill out the bench. I tried it on the Y and found it was still a tight squeeze

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely going to be a tight squeeze in the Y. However, in the X its less of a squeeze. That is of course dependant on the size of the adults and the size of the car seat.

    • @greghill8575
      @greghill8575 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Black Tesla for sure. Appreciate the feedback. I have a 3 and I wanted to get a Y just it didn’t have as much space as I was hoping after sitting in one to justify upgrading from the 3. X seems like from the video each passenger in the back row gets their own seat and will hug them better. Keep up the great videos

  • @PumpUptheJam81
    @PumpUptheJam81 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this is an older video, but can anyone remark on the screen resolution compared to the newer model 3 and Y’s? I am thinking of a used X instead of the Y. I feel like the Y has a nice bright screen that pops, but in every pic and video the X screen looks rather dim. Thanks!

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching 👍🏾. The older X uses an older display for the touchscreen vs the Y which has a newer screen. This means the 3/Y is much more responsive and more crisp. Additionally and more importantly the 3/Y uses a newer more powerful MCU/Computer for the touchscreen which adds to the responsiveness and ability to handle media and the Tesla UI in general much better than the older S/X MCU.
      You can upgrade the older MCU for the X but it's no where near the performance of the 3/Y and not close to the new S/X which has the highest performance for all Teslas.
      That said, seeing how thr Tesla UI itself if straining older cars and the fact that Tesla is building the future around the 3/Y + new S/X horizontal high performance screens I cannot recommend that anyone get a older Mod X unless it's a 2020-2021 at a really great price. Otherwise you should look to get the new X or the Y as its the best value for the money Tesla you can get. Hope this helps.

    Why not put a piece of felt or one of those chair leg bottom pads in between the plastic on the seat? I do that for lots of things... (not my Tesla yet!)
    Another thought, perhaps the seat has a weight detection and it is recommending you drop a few pounds... haha totally kidding!

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      🤣 yes I've been dropping pounds for sure and that totally could be it. Luckily we've since sold that car and have the 2020/21 model that eliminates that design so this will be someone else's problem to solve 😉

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, of you just like to ride higher and need the extra cabin space its definitely worth it. If you are on the smaller side then you might consider the Y. Lastly if cost is a factor get a Y as well.

    Nice car but $100k for a car? That's too much for something that cannot tow or comfortably seat like 8 people. I don't understand how people can justify spending that kinda money yeesh

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You certainly don't need to spend $100k on a Tesla especially a Model X you can easily get some for significantly under $100k. The max seating in the X is 7 people plus cargo in the rear and in the front trunk. You can also tow easily with it up to 5,000 pounds. So what you're paying for is the technology, the batteries the motors and not having to spend hundreds of dollars a month on the gas equivalent which equates to thousands of dollars per year. You also have an extremely safe car that has the highest resistance to rollover than any car in its class and 5 star safety in all categories. That's what people pay $100k for but again you don't have to spend that with the pre-owned market and have the same benefits.

    • @fortunatedad7695
      @fortunatedad7695 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BlackTesla well you nailed it there, paying for technology. Don't try to justify cost savings by buying an EV. What you don't spend on maintenance on a gasser now you pay for later in extremely expensive parts. Not to mention the inconvenience of having to charge it all the time.
      As far as towing, ya it maybe can tow 5000, but it won't make it far enough to even make it worth using it for that.
      I guess I'm an old fashioned guy that doesn't live on payments (other than a mortgage which most people have). With that being said, you ask self made millionaires if they bought expensive vehicles before they became rich. 🤷

    • @BlackTesla
      @BlackTesla  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair enough if you're old fashioned, but make sure you try it before you rule it out. Don't need to justify the cost the facts are the facts. You save money without gas and maintenance how much depends on the situation. In terms of "expensive" parts just about any expensive part is covered by warranty. Outside of the warranty, is just as expensive as any comparable car in its class. With towing, again unless you're speaking from first hand experience, the cars can go plenty far towing. Lastly, you say charging is an inconvenience? How is plugging your car up at home just like your mobile phone less convenient than going out of your house and driving to a gas station, waiting in a line potentially, and spending significantly more money to fill up? Charging is way more convenient, never worrying about gas prices, charge 1 day and charge again in a few days depending on how much you drive. Never going back to gas and have no regrets, I wish you could experience the same someday.

    • @fortunatedad7695
      @fortunatedad7695 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BlackTesla let's just chalk it up to you liking your Tesla and it works for you.
      I don't know where you are from but that's how much they are here but even the less expensive model is like 70k and that gives you less range.
      I'll stick with my Acura MDX that I paid 12k for with a 5 star crash rating, seats 7, tows 5k and when I'm on the road with my family for vacation, just have to stop fill up and go. I don't even want to think about how frustrating it would be to have to wait to recharge with the little ones.
      $78k can buy alot of fuel, oil changes and repairs.
      Tesla's for people that want to shell out for technology. Nothing wrong with that if that's how you want to spend your money. I would sooner put that extra money in to my house than a depreciating asset.
