What i liked about this wall, is it doesnt matter if the attacker lost a main but has cubby control and viper still alive could be use to relieve the pressure from A main and focus on other part of site
Havent watched the video yet but just the title makes me hopeful that FINALLY the boring Ascent Meta could change.
Well, if it's just "Viper double controller" that's not really progress either.
Honestly the Ascent Meta might change just based on the Cypher buffs alone.

@@jingyasun6292 It won't. The ascent meta is painfully resilient, even in chamber meta people were still running the default comp, cypher buffs won't do anything.

Fancy always has very creative team comps, they don't follow meta, they just play their own style
This video following the Skye video I think is interesting to consider Viper/Gekko viability. Gekko/Harbor have synergy but I think have the option to do a Wingman plant in that pocket is pretty smart. Also using Fade for her corner-clearing potential also adds value.
I've seen a lot in pro scene where they duo controller, Viper/Harbor and to think about it both their walls does have effect when an enemy is in contact with it, in which benefits them in a lot of ways.
I kinda wish they make it on Omen and Astra's smoke as well, like there's some sort of effect if someone's inside it, like on Astra it kinda nullifies the sound of the outside of smoke (like her ult) and Omen's smoke kinda giving you a slight paranoia effect when inside the smoke. Brim's smoke can stay the same visually makes it hard to see inside.

Well yes but that's assuming you do it every round...when you don't have to...but it gives variety. @@fuchslochtv

I was wondering if cypher could be a big problem with trips and the cam, and yeah the trips can be broken with fade's cats + someone but the cam could pose problem, however a split push from the viper comp with cover of the orb mid would kinda negate the use for the cam unless you're willing to give up tree control or you have 3 people on defense, which mean you need good info so a double/triple initiator comp. also a jett could use her smokes to protect someone while they break the trip so that the cam doesnt get a free kill
cypher cam plus phantom spray beats this setup as they wont hear or see a very high cypher cam (over the chockepoint) however that cypher cam is known by pros but then again pro games usually play kj here rather then cypher so it could work for a couple of rounds

Not just that, Viper in defense does better job than other sentinels. She's like both controller and sentinel and can easily lock up a site additionally if she got her ult.
Does Kay/0 suppress shutdown viper ulti? If it does that limits her viability in terms of being able to use her ultimate to lockdown a site as she can just be chased out of her ult by Kay/o's knife/ult. If it doesn't then she seems like she could be NASTY on B site defence (ulting to take proactive B main control and just shutting that entire lane down).

you need to watch where fancy lost to TNT in the predator league this wall might be good but their set up makes little sense when execting
That orb makes sure defenders can't make a site segment + wine crossfire. Wine is too free for defenders otherwise.
Thanks tmv someone played viper solo controller on ascent today and played a wall on A that looks somewhat like this one but does in fact not help and just stops my teammates in site being able to trade me when I double satchel in and get wide swung by the guy swinging heaven
funny enough this wall get used alot in low elo iron bronze etc cause people like to get "free plants" without site control which isnt good but it works for this A split

damn I was hype that they find a single smoke setup for viper on ascent
would it not be better if viper moved up a bit to the box at a main and aligned the wall with the corner top box of heaven so the attackers could wrap right side dice and potentially silent jump up on heaven

nope, they can just watch main from that gap then (near dice or near the wooden box), especially if it’s someone like jett or chamber. the point isnt to have someone able to sneak that deep for that 1/50 chance to backstab the enemies, it’s to create questions about where the attackers are pushing and to give them an easier time getting onto site
that might work as sort of a mixup maybe once or twice a game once theyre getting more accustomed to the normal wall, but like the other guy said it would help the defense more than attack
What about playing omen/jett on top of that wood box you can at least get the viper if she is lurking but you might need to invest a smoke

It's a hard counter to Omen on A site. You completely deny one ways in main and chokepoint and the paranoia from dice isn't that useful with this setup. Also with Viper meta on Ascent, I can see different duelists may shine, maybe even Iso?

They need a way of nerfing viper whilst making her still good in ranked. For instance, u just can't pick up the orb. Much more simple for ranked but can have an impact on pro play
That doesnt change her. They should make that she has limited fuel for example of 300 and it does not recharge

I think that viper could be fixed by buffing all of her abilities and then range limiting her smokes. It would make her less global and more limited on attack, but keep her strong on defense.
Maybe, viper was the chamber, all along....
