Danie the finished product was phenomenal, it was better than it's ever been. That being said, from one furniture flipper to another, the sheer amount of prep work you put into that is so easily glossed over in a video. You put some SERIOUS hours of hard graft into prepping that piece. Even just stripping of the old varnish is a long & messy job. Huge kudos to you. You worked so hard & have created a genuine treasure.
I’ve never been impressed with this type of furniture. Yours changed my mind. It beautifully done. The finish color, the copper & the wallpaper take it over the top.

I grew up with barrister bookcases -- my parents bought them secondhand to house our huge number of books (also bought secondhand). I didn't even think about those bookcases, they just were. If I had one of them now, I'd rent a truck, drive all the way to Toronto (500 miles) and beg you to do this again with my bookcase. Can I please please be an honorary mother or MIL?
Whoa, I always thought it was the glass doors protecting the books within that defined it as a barrister/lawyer bookcase, but I never knew each shelf was separate from the others!!! Mind blown!
My jaw HIT THE FLOOR seeing it all styled at the end, what a stunning and functional piece out of what probably would have been garbage otherwise! I adore seeing older pieces brought back to life and this is honestly a masterclass of finding potential. WELL DONE!!!

That turned out beautifully, when you said that the mail slot color was a little lighter, my mind instantly said copper colored tape just on the edges. Great job 👍✌️

I’m looking at my antique barrister cabinet that I’ve owned for 30 years with brand new eyes now! I love that you kept the original sticker and reapplied to the wallpaper and didn’t do anything to the metal bands on the sides of the cabinets , so beautiful ❤

This was the best way to compliment the old style. Only other suitable change is painting the black fixtures copper. Wither way really nice piece. And the music was so calming

Fantastic job! I love Cooper!. I have used a torch to antique it Cooper before but the finger and salt gives a total different look. Thanks for the tip. It warms my heart to see the younger generation either restoring or up cycling old furniture. Its been my passion for many years.❣❣
