It looks great, Margot! I bet you will have a much better vibe when you are sitting there and working. A desk by a wall feels a bit lonely. You seem very lovely and I'm happy for you. It all looks great and Danie did a great job... I think she did especially well because it's for you. Happy working!

I love what you did. But, sigh, would love to have seen that desk refurbished to its original state. That oak was sooo beautiful! Margo loved it, and that is what counts. Keep doin what you do, you are a DIY magician!!

The style of desk is called a Partners Desk. Two people can use it but only one has access to the drawers. You resurrected that sweet piece. Love what you did!! Yay, Danie!!

Beautiful! As much as I like the white paint, for me, I would do a white wash just so you can still see the grain. Such detailing! I am now wanting a vintage desk! Older pieces have so muc more character than what is manufactured today, plus! more durable and longer lasting. The new room arrangement looks so much better as well. Doesn't look clutter, plus she is surrounded by her beautiful pictures. That child behind the desk is so precious! Just want to kiss that face and give a very long lasting hug! 🤗💝

Boy that ended up being a lot of work, and you smashed it out of the park girllll.
It went beautifully with Marrgo's colour scheme, and right choice on wallpaper, think I'd have framed a picture frame also with wallpaper as extra summit summit.
As I'm personal a natural wood gal, think I'd have sanded it and used a clear wax on the wood.
Love how you really match the person's ascetic. ❤❤❤

Her desk turned out so pretty & uplifting! I could feel how much this meant to her and I think everyone deserves a lovely spot to work.
My personal preference would have sanded the desk down & finished with a matte clear stain and/or bleached the wood if necessary. The wallpaper you picked was adorable, I loved it! I probably would have searched for agesss for just the perfect knobs and I’m glad that wasn’t my journey 😅

A BIG GIRL DESK! The joy! 😊 Didn't initially see the vision, but after that necessary PIVOT! (s/o Friend's Sofa Ep) with the simple legs, it put focus on the upper desk details. Brava! Just perfect for your friend.

  • @solangepolegar
    @solangepolegar ปีที่แล้ว +1

I was jumping with joy when you said the desk got shorter, since the “standard” desk size does not comfortably fit someone under 1,65/1,70m… I was screaming at the screen: Keep it like that, your friend looks on the petite size like me! We always have to lift the chairs to the point our feet don’t touch the ground to be at a “comfortable” shoulder level with the top of the desk.
    Oh well, not-tall-person problems 😂

2 ❤s. 1st, I love the desk. At first, I wasn't a big fan of the leather and white finish, but the brass knurled knobs and the centre handle, work really well together. 👩‍🍳💋 (chef's kiss). 2nd, I'm totally lovin your hair Danie. It looks a lot more vibrant and full of life these days. Great job on both!!

Gorgeous, and great save with the legs! I’ve been painting my desk pedestals for my new office today. We took apart a $100 bankers style pedestal desk and will be adding a new 2.8 metre desktop (with proper supports) so I can have space for work and space for sewing and other hobbies. We have purchased a new business and our first day of trade is Nov 1st - I will be doing admin and bookkeeping for both of our businesses, as well as employing staff and managing a payroll for the first time. It’s a big move for us, but the business is well established and we are taking over from the current owners who are retiring. 🎉

I love the idea of natural light! What about using the plexiglass for a glass wall that can also double as a dry-erase space. You could then create a wood frame that can be changed out when you "grow out of" said window design. This could give you future opportunities for design changes.
Another thought... how about a living plant wall?

Hi danie! I am a furniture artist and a couple weeks ago I was scrolling through utube and watched your welding video you made of your pup and I was hooked! I went all the way back to your first video and watched every single video oldest to newest and am now caught up! I now want to buy more tools and start making furniture and all the other things you have created! You are an amazing artist and very entertaining 😊I thought I might throw a suggestion out to you as I know you paint a lot of white furniture and especially this piece with the details. If you put black was on the details and wipe away it really makes the details pop! Just an idea❤ Thank you for expanding my creativity through your own amazing work 😊

I just love your work. I do have a request, though. If it's not too much trouble, could you put together a video on diy gifts that you would make for friends & family for Christmas? Small things that those of us who aren't talented like you might could do? Most of my gifts are usually crocheted/knitted, but I'd love to surprise family members with homemade gifts that they would be proud to display in their homes. Thank you in advance. Much love & respect from East Texas 💖💖💖 All your work is always so exceptionally beautiful. 💝💝💝

1st look at the desk - it's an awesome desk, love the style, the size is perfect and enough drawers for storage.
I like the wallpaper liner you choose, she can pick one of the colors to paint the room or just an accent wall.
Personally, I would have kept the original hardware, maybe clean it up with some rub & buff.
Too bad about the legs, the replacements look good though and the ones you took off, I'm sure will end up in a future project, yet to come.

I think the only thing I would have changed was I would have used the middle wallpaper choice in the middle draw for an added surprise and to mix it up a little bit. Aside from that I loved every bit of this change. It turned out so wonderfully even with the changes due to the legs needing to be removed to get it upstairs.

It looks great. I think the white is too sharp with that leather though. I’d have painted it a slightly darker colour (either ivory or dove grey). Or, maybe you could have gotten angelus leather paint and lightened the leather to more of a tobacco or russet dyed leather

Love the desk and how you placed it in the room. In answer to your quesiton, what would you have done differently. I would have added a bit more modern legs to the desk since you had to change them out. I think that would have married the vintage and modern a bit more cohesively. Well done!

So impressive how you problem solved on the fly with the legs and made sure the desk didn’t lose an ounce of quality or structure!
