Haven't watched the makeover yet buuuuuuttt HUGE congrats on the new garage/DIY studio....it's something you've worked hard for and will make a huge difference to your work- just make sure you have stairs that are 'easily' manouverable/add a winch out the window for big projects 😂😂 P.s really doesn't matter that the cabinet was reproduction rather than vintage as it turned out beautifully😊

Even for a modern piece $150 is still a pretty good price. Everything is so impossibly expensive right now that if you find something that's the design that you want and looks even mostly solid you gotta jump on that! I love the paper on the shelves and the complimentary color is really nice. I think papering the complete inside would be too much, so just the shelves is the perfect accent.

New garage is so exciting! Did you consider a barn like lift door to your second floor for bringing up large supplies like 4x8 plywood sheets and lowering big finished DIYs?

You should be sure to put an elevator in the new garage. They make them for garages and we have one. I wish ours was bigger but it has been a great asset. The floor lies flush with the second story floor when the elevator is up and it drops down through the garage ceiling when in use. It is more of a lift than an elevator but you should look into it if you are diying larger pieces on the second floor or even for transporting wood up and down.
Me living my DIY dreams through Danie. I would love to thrift and flip furniture but don't have the space for it in my lil condo. One day though 😉 Can't wait for the new workshop! ❤️
Love the final look! I am a furniture flipper myself and instead of doing bleach, I would have done a paint wash (some beige paint + water). Thanks for sharing your amazing projects ❤️
Great transformation. I really love the whitewash look. A lot of work, but well worth it in the end. Sometimes, with the right finish and hardware, cheap furniture can end up being very pretty.

I had one of those Sauder Barristers bookcase! I remember paying an absurd price for a fake wood assemble it yourself piece of furniture but it was so gorgeous I had to have it. Not only that but it fit in the space it was going into. It was lost in a storage unit fire when we were moving to our new office. I was heartbroken. I was able to track one down online today and it was $700 - used! You got a great deal and what you did with it was pure magic. Congrats on getting married. Very happy that your studio will get an upgrade, but not gonna lie, when I heard that your studio will be upstairs I worry for you and how many projects you won't be able to do up there considering how many large projects you do and having to haul up and down stairs... I just got 2 mid-mod dressers that were painted terribly and were going to the trash 😭 I’m glad I got to them before they were destroyed! I didn't see a bathroom or sink on the floor plan for the new garage. Might I suggest you at least put in plumbing for a bathroom upstairs? That way if down the road you want to use this as a bedroom you have that option. Will also increase the value of the house if/when you resell. Not having to dash to the main house during a project to use the facilities would be a nice bonus for you. Love this flip; you did a great job as always. Sorry about your eye but glad it's on the mend!

danie your channel is so great. i really got into home design and crafting a few years ago and it still brings me this really great feeling of peace. and your enthusiasm for making things and trying different things is so infectious. i feel when im surrounded by beautiful things and cleanliness, that my mind is healthier for a bit. Congrats on the future garage but just a possible suggestion for it - maybe a sort of dumb waiter/lift/pulley platform between the workshop loft space and the ground floor of your garage to easily move your bigger pieces without breaking your back?

If I were younger, I would love to do this. I used to decoupage back in the 70's. Pictures on wood... Paper on cheap beads. Fabric on clay pots.
