The internals are coated with a waterproof nano coating, but that does not mean water won't damage it. It means it has a better chance of survival from being placed in water.
I think that if you are comparing the iPhone 5 with the RAZR then the iPhone 5 is the way to go. However, if you are comparing the RAZR HD's that come out this week then either is great. Check back soon for that video though.
I'm not saying it's a Razr HD but no, I don't agree with you. The Droid Razr HD was released 1 years after the Razr. It has a much faster dual core Snapdragon s4 CPU at 1.5Ghz and Adreno 225 GPU which are way better than Cortex A9 1.2Ghz. Not to mention the bigger screen size and resolution makes the graphics performance different.
Wow man you made one of the best comparison videos I have seen yet as a suggestion I would say that "speed test" is useless as comparing features of applications is better but other than that I think your comparison is rock solid good job! also as someone from EU I must say that razr is way cheaper as we don't get contract deals here as you guys in US.
I'be bought the RAZR a week ago, too (XT910 -Euro version). My power button isn't flimsy either. On the package is a sticker that says "Aktualisiert" (german for updated). Maybe they've changed something with that button. I think it feels really solid and is very easy to differ from power and volume buttons just by touching them. So far, I'm really happy with this phone.
I've got a DROID x and thinking about switching over from the dark side to a iphone.....or maybe stay with DROID and get the raze....both will be quicker than what I have now..battery life is a big deal to me also so kinda let me know where I stand in my decision

Hi I am eligible for an upgrade and Idk which one to choose. I like the razr because I get free music and it has more customization. It also has a micro sd card slot and flash support. What I like about the iphone is that it has way more apps and a better UI. It also looks prettier in appearance. Regarding iTunes: Yes. With the Razr you use MotoCast. MotoCast has the option to synchronize with iTunes. With MotoCast you can either synchronize your phone with the media on your computers (windows or mac -linux I don't know for sure) or you can directly stream anything live from your computer -and you can even stream videos to your HDMI TV. That's one reason I ordered this phone. If it works as fine like on the how-to videos about MotoCast on youtube it's exactly what I was looking for.
Well now that I have the Razr my wife has did what I did and sold her Iphone 4s and bought a Razr. We both love the feel and the size of the Razr.. The bigger screen is one of the main reason my wife wanted the Razr...

I just ordered the Razr. I like the big screen and the opportunity to stream all media content from my computer to my phone or even on the big LCD TV screen via HDMI. I also like the WebTop thing from Motorola and am considering to buy a Lapdock as a netbook replacement. Battery issues won't be too big a problem, I think. We know this problem from the iPhone. Simplest solution: a cheap AA battery powered USB emergency charger (works for both) or -with the Razr- it is charged in the Lapdock.
All of his complaints software wise were fixed with the ICS update! It boots up faster, browsers are faster (especially with Chrome), and responsiveness is improved! Would like to see a new review pst ICS update.
correction, the iPhone as a higer dpi screen, but the colors seem to be a little bit faded at times, and contrast nowhere near as nice a SAMOLED advanceed
@Zenesto i will say that the iPhone doesn't have an HDMI outport, but that isn't needed because of the 30 pin connector. Also if you do your research the iPhone 4S does have camera stabilization. The only thing i saw in the video was the iPhone running smoothly, with absolutely no lag. Something ANY android phone will never be able to copy.
You should better get a RAZR MAXX, the same specs but with a beefier 3300mAh battery (it lasts a lot), it's only 1mm thicker and I'm not sure if the DROID RAZR has ICS update but the RAZR MAXX definitely has that available. The RAZR M and the RAZR HD are the latests and updated models. I'm not sure if they´re available right now but they may definitely worth the wait
the reason for the iPhone better response on the browser is due to the dual-core gpu powered by PowerVR technology (considered one of the best) where as the RAZR has ( I believe) a single core gpu ( which is found in the original galaxy s phones). My two cents.

It it was light, had big screen, had things like HDMI and you could just plug your phone into a TV and watch a movie (there was no chromecast yet). iPhone on the other hand didn’t play all kinds of video, you needed convert to run and sync with your pc (instead just send the video) small screen, no external card...
go for the razr maxx. it has crazy battery life (21.5 hrs of usage they claim), and yes there are apps that allow you to sync your itunes playlists with android phones. i just recently got it and it's amazing, used to have iphone, am way happier now.
@ChizFX You're missing my point. I'm talking about the gpu, nothing else. But talking about screens, the retina increases pixel count as does the super amoled ( to some extent). However the super amoled pixel depends on the resolution set forth by the company (qHD, 720p, etc). Where as the retina display resolution is already defined before hand.
It may have (slightly) better screen quality but responsiveness is comparable, even the reviewer said that. ICS update improves things a lot, I have the MAXX version (same phone with a 3300mAh battery) so I can tell ICS update is a must.
I love how easily customizable andoid phones are and love all the widgets and stuff. I've always had android phones but after using my friend's iphone 4s I see why he likes it so much. I guess it's the simplicity and smoothness of the whole thing. Honestly, I've customized my android (gingerbread) to my liking but after using the iPhone, I don't know how to explain, it just works.
The RAZR looks like a monster compared to the iPhone. 4g LTE doesn't really matter to me since it isn't available in my area yet, and I'm in an AT&T contract anyways, so I'm definitely getting the 4s as soon as I can upgrade.

(that is including the rebate mind you) I have been playing around with it, puttin git through its paces for a little while and it handles wonderfully. I love mac too. The only reason I love the Androids more than the iPhones is because Android market is a less expensive as far as quantity of free apps goes and there are more things to do with it.

The RAZR screen is disappointing and most people I know who have looked at it feel the same way. The iPhone screen is very nice and hopefully the next iPhone gets a little bigger. The battery life on the iPhone in my experience is better than the RAZR unless you get the RAZR MAXX which is better than any phone.

I am currently using an Iphone 4s on sprints network, coming from the droid 2 global. Ive gota say, i have not had nearly as many problems with my Iphone then i did with android. I am not a mac fanboy, nor an android fan boy, but if you want a reliable, simplistic phone that is dependable, i recommend the 4s highly.
I don't think either operating system is better than the other, it comes down to personal preference. For me I have used both android and iOS and I think they are both great phones.
Please next time if you do a comparison turn off the flash support on android phones so that both browser will have the same amount of data to load. If one doesn't need to bother about flash then it will obviously be faster. Also the lagging of browsing will be improved on the android device although i must say that apple products in general do feel a little bit smoother than the competition
I'm not a fan of the razr design but it seems like a great phone as is the ip4s. I do think it would be fair to compare the razr running on lte as that is what its made for. The razr shouldn't be penalized for having newer tech in it in my opinion.
By the time iPhone 4S came out, tons of phones already had 8mp cameras and 1080p recording, so it wasn't too big a deal except for maybe iPhone users. I personally think the iPhone 4 alone should've had an 8mp camera already, but whatever. As for Siri, in my opinion, that's a little bit more of a gimmick to me, like the 3D capabilities on the LG Thrill or Evo 3D. That last part's just my opinion though.
That's ALWAYS been one of the strongest physical attributes of Motorola's Razr phones way back to when flip phones were the thing of the day. That's part of the "razr theme" is for it to be thin, or as YOU say "skinny". Your comment is like saying "the ferrari is wayyy to fast".
I have the Razr Maxx and have used the iPhones from the 3g forward. The Razr Maxx is far superior. It has a Super AMOLED Plus screen (look that one up) that has far more contrast than an iPhone. It's super responsive with Gingerbread OS and will be even better with Ice Cream Sandwich. I don't experience any of this lag you mentioned. Another great plus is they now have 64gb micro-sdxc memory cards bringing total storage to 80gb. Battery life is 2 full days. It's a great phone.
@ChizFX 1.2ghz processor and a 1gb of ram. While it does beat the iPhone 4s in those regards, the iPhone 4s beats it in the graphics area. The dual core gpu allows it to function smoother, where as the higher clocked CPU and greater ram on the RAZR allows it to be faster.
I own both phones Razor Maxx and the iphone 4s (droid is personal and iphone is a business phone) I like them both but so far I am starting to like the Razor better just because of the screen size and speed. But I am still waiting for the iphone 5 to come out to see whats new.

Any time you play games you will use a lot of battery. The RAZR Maxx would help though since it has a very large battery.

I like having essentially the same experience across all my stuff just to keep things neat and slick but whatever makes you happy is awesome.

You don't have to get the razr on Verizon. There is an unlocked gsm version, the motorola xt910.

Apple doesn't call the 4s 4g even though On atts network it technically is. It's hspa+ which is 4g just not lte. Lte being the faster of the two
