Hi Angie! So as I mentioned on Discord, I finished “What the River Knows” and I was so incredibly moved. I went on a deep dive of the author and found that she is a new twin mom as well! I ended up sending her a message via her website just letting her know how much I loved her work and that I was sending her well wishes from one twin mom to another. And she responded! Just thought you would appreciate! I’m now reading her first book “Woven in Moonlight” and have requested all her other books at my library soooo I guess that’s my February lol😂. I have 4 boys and I started reading that book and fell off and now I can’t really remember why! I may have to pick it up again. One of the best books I have read for specifically parenting boys has been “Raising Emotionally Strong Boys” by David Thomas. It was absolutely fantastic and will be a book that I go back and read over and over again through my parenting journey. Thinking of you during this month and sending good health and healing your way 💛
No way, that is so cool that Isabel Ibanez is a twin mom and that she responded :) I've heard of Raising Emotionally Strong Boys - thank you for bringing that back on my radar!!
Hi Angie, I have been enjoying your videos for years now and you are definitely steering me toward fantasy and sci fi more and more. I read Assassins Apprentice by Robin Hobb last year and really loved it thanks to you! I put Red Rising by Pierce Brown on my good reads TBR last year and I FINALLY bought it yesterday for my kindle. I am excited to get to that one soon. First I had to start Dark Matter by Blake Crouch...another you recommended...20% in and very good so far! On another note, I a homeschool mom too and we have a now 16 yr old son. I ran into a lady at Lowes one day and we started talking about these teenage boys. She has 3 young men and so she had some insight to say the least. I recall her talking about with boys there is lots of emotions , but harder to tread around than girls in her opinion. (I also have an almost 10 yr old girl so we will see). You have to take note of those emotions ride out within reason of course. My son is definitely going thru the emotions. He is a sweet kid though and loves his mom; ). She also mentioned that they tend to be motivitated slower than girls. They will explore many options for their futures before they settle on one. When they do, they will stick with it. I just love boys so much! They are still so much easier to me than girls. (don't tell my daughter that! lol)
Ahh, I'm so happy to hear you have been loving some of my fantasy/sci-fi book recommendations! I really appreciate you sharing some insight into teenage boys ... I'm intimidated but excited to see the young men they will become :)
I'm just waiting on my copy of The Women for Book of the Month ... I hadn't thought of vlogging my experience, but maybe I will, I just love Kristin Hannah books so much!!
