      Thats a good line, I'm going to use it. We get buko juice often as well as banana que, which is my favorite. Thanks for watching.

    Yes skin tax is a huge problem in the Philippines. We all experience it.

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we see it from time to time. Just need to be aware and not be taken advantage of. Thanks for watching.

    The circle in the center is good for people with hemorrhoids and for something else.

    Don't they have coconut in Florida or California?

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess they do, but how many young Americans would climb up and fetch one of those babies/open for you by just asking. Love the culture here and the pure nature at its finest. Thanks for the comment.

    Where are you going to put the pool filtration equipment?

    Just a quick question… what about the floor of the pool? In the Philippines,they tend to add a fair amount of cement on floors plus tile… it seems to be about 2 inches in my experience…. So, a little better for Wilma.

      There's a video on the pool pour. They poured 6 inches of cement with waterproofing mixed in. Then they will skim coat walls and floor with a 2nd waterproofing. Last will be tile adhesive/tile and grout. Thanks for the comment.

    I have heard that happens even for food at the market, and so my Filipina Fiancé will not buy anything from the markets, unless it has a price tag on the items. She knows this is not going to sit well with me, and so she is understanding that the skin tax is a real thing. The Coconut trick and the milk, and flesh inside, I will be trying next year when I make the trip there next spring/summer. My Filipina is only 4’91/2”, so I hope she can swim.

      Wilma is 4' 11", so I was concerned when I first seen the pool at 48". 42" water line, so good to go. We love fresh coconut, buko juice as they call it. Yes, need to be aware of the skin tax, especially if shopping alone. Once you know the prices and get to know the locals it basically goes away. Always be aware though. Thanks for watching.

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct, too expensive. I will have Wilma try again without me in a few weeks. How are you doing?

      @buildingthephilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's all good, I'm never offended. I just don't have to buy, just move on. Wilma speaks up though, that's fun to watch. Thanks for watching.

    So, Greg, the lesson in buying things in the Philippines is to let your wife do the buying while you are a block away with the cellphone. 😁
    Btw, Is there lighting in the pool because I don't see wiring for the lights?

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, don't be seen, let the price be agreed upon and then you show up. Thats the process. lol. No wired lights in the pool, will do something like led strip lighting once everything is completed. Thanks for the comment.

    How will you ventilate the dirty kitchen and generator!!! Stinky fish smell and gas fumes

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Along the back of the DK we will construct the wall one block (short) under the bottom of the roof overhang. That will allow a few inches to vent. We will also install some type of screening there as well. The generator will be under the pergola, but both ends of that pergola is open, so will vent on either end. Thanks for commenting.

    Those rattan chairs looks like they’re dual purpose. You can sit on it at the same time do no. 2. on it just for the skin tax BS.😆😆😆

    • @buildingthephilippines
      @buildingthephilippines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those chairs are so comfortable, may need to send Wilma or someone else there to negotiate the price down. Thanks for watching.
