I had this exact problem. I followed your advice and got the same Norcold solenoid on Amazon for $35.
I installed it in 5 minutes and the error code is gone.
Thank you so much for saving me time and I am sure hundreds at the mechanic shop.

Awesome, glad it worked for you. Mine is still working as well. I did discover my relay on back of fridge was out. Explains why I never heard fans running… wasn’t sure mine had any. A simple trip to auto parts store and now fridge stays cold even on hot days!

Thank you! I've been waiting 4 months for Dometic to send the dealership a LP valve/solenoid to fix my brand new ref under warranty that won't run on LP. My DM2652LBX fired right up after changing only the solenoid to the Norcold unit you recommended. It had a CEME 5588/2 that drew 2.5 watts. I'll put the bad one back if the ever actually call saying the part came in and then use the Norcold as a spare, just in case. You're a good man Charlie Brown!

This is so great! I purchased the solenoid with the valve not knowing they were easily separated and that the solenoid is the more likely culprit.. I was worried about replacing the gas valve because it involved disconnecting the gas and potential problems there but since he said it was easy to swap the solenite I did that first and bingo! I super appreciate it!!!

OH wow. Great video about that Solenoid. I'm about to test mine for continuity. I have a feeling that is what is wrong with my gas not working. I see I can get the same Solenoid you got for $36 on Amazon. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use my Multimeter to test for a burnt out Solenoid. LOL Back to the videos on Multimeters. Thank you.

Thanks. I have the exact same issue. I just purchased the solenoid and valve off ebay. I hope this fixes it.

You only need the solenoid. Do not use a Norcold valve on the Dometic, it might be different.

Mine is reading 28ohms, so i assume this is the culprit. It lights but the flame is very small.

CEME 5589/A was the original part

I can’t get mine to only use electric mode

Could be heating elements bad. Try using an ohm meter to check them.
