Refrigerator Control Board Kit; Use With Dometic DMH1072/ DM2862/ DM2852/ DM2652 Refrigerators. With Power Board: Yes
Dometic provides branded solutions for mobile living in the areas of Climate, Hygiene and Sanitation, Food and Beverage, Power and Control and Safety and Security. Our mission is to make the mobile life easy. This is a replacement lower control board for select Dometic gas absorption refrigerators. The lower control board is the main circuit board on the refrigerator and controls the ignition of the propane and the power to the AC element. This item is compatible with the following models: DM2652; DM2662; DM2663; DM2852; DM2862; DM3862; NDM1062; NDR1062; RM2351; RM2354; RM2451; RM2454; RM2551; RM2554; RM2620; RM2652; RM2662; RM2820; RM2852; RM2862.
Several DIY online videos suggest that if your Frig is not working on AC and you have check the power supply, the glass fuses and heating element, than its likely that the lower control board is bad. So I went this route and purchase a new lower control board, but unfortunately it did not solve the problem. I was fortunate that Amazon allow this item to be returned for a refund. I was pretty much resigned to running the frig off LP gas until I learned that the upper control board could cause this issue. So I purchased a upper control board and it solved the problem. My frig now runs off of AC or gas, depending on if the AC is available. Therefore, if you are have a similar problem with your RV refrigerator, know that replacing the upper control board may solved your problem.

If your cooling system is leaking, that is a big issue and requires the refrigerator to be removed. As long as that is not the issue, then you should be able to fix it by replacing either fuses/breakers or a control board. Parts available here: amzn.to/3z5ssWE
This is what we ended up doing in our RV for the fridge: th-cam.com/video/mxYPcA0Mvu4/w-d-xo.html
I took my travel trailer in to Camping World because it had a leak on the max air Fan in the bathroom and they said it was coming from the refrigerator vent and I had them replac it and now the refrigerator overheats you can feel it from the outside and especially when you open the door to the camper It's like a blast furnace😮
Outstanding way you describe everything to a T. Even with the meter. I was able to skip through all of the things already did and you helped me with the one's I missed .my fridge works again thank you
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback and glad you got it working again.
One of the most informative videos I’ve ever see. The best part is when you posted on the screen “ If you get shocked, it’s your fault”. LOL
Thank you. I was hoping it would help someone.
I agree one of the best rv videos for troubleshooting and super easy to understand. great video
What a great video. Very clear and concise. With few exceptions, your instructions are accompanied by very clear views of what your probe is actually touching. You are slow speaking and methodical in your trouble shooting. Fantastic!!
Thank you.
Yes! This is a great video and I couldn't be more thankful that I found it in a pinch. My refrigerator stopped working and he led me right to the fuse. So so thankful.
My thermal switch tripped. No evidence of any leaks. Called Dometic and talked to them and they said it should be OK. This was a great video. Very detailed and helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
Just watched this video to diagnose issues with my fridge. This video was very well done. You got right down to the facts. No nonsense. I learned a lot and was able to figure out that my lower control panel was the issue. Thanks for making a very helpful video!!
That pesky little button!!!! I never would've found that without this video, saved me today, thank you!
Glad I could help!
Same here. Lights on the control panel and inside working and after checking power to the leads it was the little button. Thanks a million!!
WOW! Your explanations are very clear but your photography is excellent!!! For the first time I could actually see what you were describing. No one else is as clear. TY
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
So so thankful that I found your video. Living in my RV in the heat of the summer and my refrigerator stopped working. You led me right to the fuse! I pulled another fuse to replace it immediately from something that I wasn't using. Thank you so much you saved me today. Great video!!!! I'm saving this in case I need more tips and tricks.
Glad this could help. Now to find out why the fuse blew in the first place.
We have been avoiding the fridge issue for 8 months 🫣 very skery... $2.50 /day for ice=$500-$600😮 and now I see the black 🖤 frigging button that looks like a muddobbers nest material?!?!!😫
Thanks for making it look so simple
Thank you so much. I was about to buy s new fridge and decided to look at TH-cam. Your video popped up and I followed along. Great instructions!!! My fridge turned back on 😁 and I dont have any of the residue. I unplugged my trailer with the fridge on and I think that must have been the reason. It's still running 24 hours later. Thank you thank you. Your the man!!
Glad I could help! Hope it was just that issue. Take care.
I think I blew my fuse by unplugging my trailer before turning the fridge off. Now I know better. Living in an RV and learning every step of the way. This is such a great video. He led me right to the fuse thank goodness
Thank you so much for producing this video! Even after a couple of years it came in handy for me since my Dometic frig in my Jayco fifth wheel all of a sudden stopped working. I started the troubleshooting the electrical system AC first and then found out that I didn't have any DC going to the fridge. Turned out that a fuse was blown (doing its job). So just replaced it and it started right up.
Glad it was just a fuse.
Dude this is an awesome video, I really appreciate the way you walk through the use of the multimeter because I’m a noob with a multimeter but I was able to pinpoint the problem and as long as that little switch that popped out doesn’t continue popping out, I’ll be golden! Thank you again
Glad it helped. Good luck.
You did a great job in describing all the components and how they related to the refrigerator. Thank you very much.
Super helpful, saved a trip to the service center. Not the same issue as yours, but your troubleshooting steps caught our issue along the way. The detail you went into helped so much
I am glad it was helpful and happy it was not my issue.
Thank you SO MUCH. We just arrived at our campsite for the next week and it’s 98° at 8 PM. The refrigerator wasn’t working and it turned out to be the same little black sensor switch. Amazing! Thank you!
Glad it helped. I know the feeling.
Thank you for the well explained video on the trouble shooting problems. We need more of this sort in here!.
Thank you. Glad it was helpful.
Dude thank you so much for this video. I’m in the middle of the woods right now & you just walked me through fixing my fridge. Same HF multi meter & all. The sensor button fixed me right up!
Glad I could help. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this detailed video!! Realized it was the 3 AMP fuse but gave me the confidence to realize you were testing every component so if it was something bigger I could figure it out! Much appreciated!
Excellent explanation! I appreciate the way you went through each step. I know nothing about electrical but the way you explained and did the trouble shooting I am confident that I will be able to find the issue. Thank you so very much!
Good luck. Hope it's minor. Thanks.
Thank you for trying I appreciate you for helping.
This was so helpful. I goofed up and broke the tab of that little thermal fuse on the boiler when unhooking the wires so I have to replace it now but hopefully that will be the only problem. Thank you for going through all that troubleshooting the way u did. Super helpful and informative 👍
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching.
Oh, this is keeper vid! Understand it! Love it! I have a 2021 Dometic RM2454 rv refrigerator running on ac intermittently the lights on on upper control panel start cycling on where ultimately all the lights are on! Have “debugging” this for months! The frig seems to operate normally - but, I can’t catch and analyze system during apparent random cycling. Dometic not helpful. Almost read to replace both upper and lowered control panels.
Let me know what you find. Good luck.
This is a fantastic video that helped lead me to my problem. I had no power to the refrigerator. I followed your advice up to the DC input power (red wire). The red wire does exit the connector and leads directly to the boiler thermal switch, BUT it also has a hidden fusible link right before the thermal switch. You will see what looks like black electrical tape around the red wire ( this is the fusible link. The fusible link looked good but it was was bad because this is where my power stopped and I had voltage across the link. In a pinch I jumped the link (until I can replace it) and Voila, power restored. Thank you for leading me down the path!
Glad you found it and thanks for the extra info. I did not know there was a fuse there.
Great catch! Fusible links can get overlooked as they just look like a wire splice. I'll keep my eyes open for one as I dig into my unit.
My issue was a bad fuse. Replaced it and my fridge turned right on. Thanks for the help!
That switch ended up being my issue! Pressed it back in and now it’s working. I don’t see any leaks but will keep an eye on it. Thanks for the video!!
Glad I could help. If it blows again, I would have it checked. Good luck to you.
Thanks for the video. I’m new to RV-ing. We were out camping and my gas pressure regulator went bad which must have tripped the sensor at 11:33. After I changed the regulator the fridge still didn’t work but everything’s ship-shape now. 👊🏼
Glad it helped
Great video, I didn't know there was a reset on the thermistor, we got hit with a cold snap -50 Celsius with wind-chill. The fridge froze up, everything else checked out fine, was pulling my hair out. She started right back up, once I reset the thermistor.
Thank you big time
Glad it helped.
The button on the boiler got me! Thanks man!!!!
Mine doesn't have the button on the boiler, would it be located somewhere else?
I'm new to RVing. You video is excellent and gave me a starting point! I appreciate it.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for making a wonderful, detailed, and easy to follow video. That little thermal button was my issue.
Glad it helped!
The switch you pressed in is a Thermal switch it will kill the power if the burner tube is to hot to prevent a fire. Because your ammonia leaked out it was unable to pull the heat away from the burner tube and tripped your thermal switch. Over all very nice video
Thank you for the extra info. All of it helps.
I went through all these tests and all the power is there to everything. Light is on inside the fridge and it sounds like it runs for a while and shuts off. Still no cooling in fridge or freezer.. Zero signs of am onia leaking. Plugged in at home plus propane is on along with good batteries.
@@rockycon1967
I'm having the same issues. Any luck figuring out the problem? N.FL
Man, what a good troubleshooting video. Great content.
Glad it helped! Hope you are well. Take care.
Thank you for your trouble shooting video.
Very helpful.
The switch that was tripped is called a limit switch. It trips if the temperature rises above it's set point.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
Thank you for your video. My brother's trailer fridge went out and by following the instructions I was able to get it to reset
Glad it helped
Thank you so much!! My fridge wasn’t working for like a week and my food was going bad. This helped me a lot! Mine was tripped at the dc connection the little black button. Ugh thank god! Lol
Glad it was helpful. Thanks.
Very helpful and detailed friend . I will implement your test this afternoon and come back to comment on what the outcome is👍
Thank you so much!!! All I had to do was press the button on that sensor. It tripped due to power issues we were having at home.
Currently camping in 110 degree weather with my pregnant wife and our fridge quit working your video saved my ass and made me look like a hero thanks so much for the info mine was also the button thing that doesn’t look like a button
So glad it helped you. Hope it's not a deeper issue.
This video saved our day on the lake. We found a thermo fuse that was bad in the 12V power line thanks to your video helping us know where to start. Thank you!
Glad it helped. Hope your day on the lake was great.
I had same issue, didn’t even know that thermo fuse was there. Had 12 vdc where wires went in, but not at stove pipe. Pulled insulation & found it, just twisted wires together for quick fix & refrigerator turned on.
@@bladefrk34 Glad it was a simple fix.
Thank you very much for the great video. It really helped me tremendously.
The round item with the popped out button is called a Thermodisk. It is a safety device and will interrupt operation if it is over heated. It can be tested for 12v DC on both sides also. The 5/6 wire harness can be tested plugged in with fine probes. You can place the negative off the mm into the red wire and the positive to the orange, that is power up to the control panel aka the eye brow. Keep on red, the green in the upper right corner is gas down and to black is electric down.
Thanks for the extra info.
Your video really help me understand what's wrong my fridge thank you
Glad I could help.
I do need some help please, I have just replace both boards and the fridge still isn't working. I used a multi meter to check all the power after installing the new boards, but still no power. My fridge doesn't have a leak like yours. Any suggestions? Greatly appreciated
Very well done, & great video ! Clear, & exact, & your speech is just perfect...We have a RETS 33, & that RV has TWO of these fridges side by side....As of now, we have one works great,
( as they normally do) & one, has gone KAPUT ! So I tuned into your video, & such great detail, I will get out & get after it, to get #2 fridge running again...Thankyou so much !
Glad it was helpful! Hope you get it going!
@@SeidelRanch Yes Sir! Thankyou...
Great video.
I can't get mine to work.
I will be watching this again.
Once it warms up a little.
Mine has the blinking light inside so I will be checking what I learned from you.
Thank you 😊
Hope it helps fix your issue. Good luck.
Did you figure out your issue? We have a blinking light on the DMC4101 (electric only) and are about to start pulling things apart.
@@dawnmarrs9412 I bought and installed a new dinosaur motherboard. Now I don't have a blinking light. It works when I wire it up directly or if I hot wire the ignitor. But automatically it still doesn't work. And I haven't had time to look at it anymore 🙃 lately 😕
Amazing video!! An easy how to troubleshoot!! I’m no dummy but I’m not electrician either. This video is perfect for people like me and it helped me solve my issue!! Awesome, thanks a lot!!!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks.
Seriously saying this is the best video I’ve seen, very detailed Thks I’ve learned a lot
Glad it was useful. Thanks for watching.
Excellent overview….I’m removing my 2013 Winnebago Lite Five 5th Wheel from storage and this exact situ exists. I’ll TS and revert with findings. Thx again.
Let me know how it goes. I hope it's minor.
I lucked out. Mine was that silly "button". I was using an ice chest for 2 weeks waiting to fix this thing haha. Thanks man!!
Glad I could help! Keep an eye on it. If it keeps doing that look deeper for leaks. Good luck.
Thank You! My Dometic fridge stopped working. I followed the instructions in the video, and after I pressed the button on the sensor it started up again!
Glad it helped
My issue wound up being a 1.5 volt resistor in the line going from power over to the reset button on the gas tube, where the rest switch is. I ordered a new one on the radioshack website, crimped it and it worked perfectly!
Nice to know. One more thing to test if the issue arises. Thanks.
This video is immensely valuable, thank you!
Glad it was helpful.
Very Great video! Thanks for going through several options. Mine was the hidden fault switch thats behind the galvanized panel. Forgot to turn off the fridge and it faulted out there.
Thanks so much!!!!
Glad it helped!
My fridge has power but has never got cold or even cool. I've had it since January and the camper is a 2018. I'm stationery so I dont need the propane option. Loved this video and I'm going to subscribe and check out your other videos.
Thanks. Yeah, we ended up doing this: th-cam.com/video/mxYPcA0Mvu4/w-d-xo.html
Merci pour les bonnes instructions, your explanation ara very good
Thank you.
dude!!! you are the bomb!!! that was everything i needed to figure out!!! ty so much!! now i have half a chance figuring out whats wrong w my fridge!!!
Awesome. Glad it was helpful. Good luck.
@@SeidelRanchI have a prowler camper. My refrigerator panel lights up but will not cool (it defrosted itself because the freezer was full of ice). No yellow fluid coming out of the back . Any thoughts on my problem
@@GaHullbillyRanch It could be a number of things. Check fuses and power to the back. Make sure all the needed voltage is getting to where it needs to be. That is what I would check first.
Best job I have seen, great work !
Thank you! I hope it helped you find the issue.
Super good video my friend excellent troubleshooting skills thank you very much
Glad it helped
best video ever made. Why cant the manufacturer make a video like this? 17 minutes problem solved. and I learned how to test all this shit. Like years worth of knowlege in 17 minutes.
Thank you. So glad it was helpful.
Thank you so much.. I can now go troubleshoot mine. Comprehensive information!
You're welcome! Hope you find the issue and it's simple.
Very well done and helpful- thank you !!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you sir great info . Thank you for Sharing your wisdom .
So nice of you. Glad it was helpful.
Thanks for the video! Mine wasn't any of that, but the 12 volt wire going to that little button has a resistor soldered with a heat shield. Still very helpful 👍 -CXD
Glad it helped
Thank you very much sir. Very clear explanations. Very very helpful
Thank you. Glad it was helpful.
Very informative video. Saved the day. Our problem was one of the thermofuses.
Great to hear! Glad it was minor.
Excellent thanks!! Sad thing is, still no luck on our fridge
Sorry to hear that. We do love our new fridge if that helps any.
@@SeidelRanch I'm just buying a cheap household fridge and a inverter
Aww, have another go at , didn't have a probe in all the way
The switch fixed it for me you are the man
Glad you got it working.
Best video I've seen for this. Sub and figured out a fuse was out on the board
Awesome. Glad it was just a fuse. Thanks for the comment.
man I gotta say see was the best video you explained it from start to finish .very good video an very helpful 👍
I appreciate that! Thanks.
Terrific video I learn a lot and saved money from paying a Rv guy come out plus I find out sometimes theses wire connections might be a little corrosion or rust on it I pulled them off sanded a little and jingle bells problem solved, I thought my box on outside was gone but found out wires were just dirty or no good contact
That's great. Avoided a very costly repair. My experience with the RV shops is they would have probably just made you pay for a new refrigerator. Glad that was avoided.
@@SeidelRanch keep up the great work again great video step by step, make more thru out Rv hey if you’re going to own one , might as well gain more knowledge
@@Paul-iu1om Thanks. I have some trips in the RV coming up. I will see what I can find to hopefully help the RV community. Thanks for the feedback.

Sorry to hear yours has a cooling leak. Hope it's under warranty.
Great job only thing left was to show troubleshooting thermoster in fridge, it think the black button is an overtemp protection on the bimetal switch on the exhaust

The little button "sensor" is usually a bimetal thermostate, used as an over temp safety switch. You will find them again on the hotwater heater

Awesome work, thanks for the info. Helped me out alot👍
Glad it helped! Thanks.
Was supposed to be two12v fuses, one inside the box and one two the left of it. Mine only had the one inside. After replacing both control boards and still not getting any lights inside I finally found a fusable link in the hot wire to that breaker on the condenser, it was bad internally and not sending voltage. Have no idea why it tripped. I had accidentally let it run out of gas when it wasn't plugged in to shore power, don't know if that could have had anything to do with it. In any case I bypassed it and I'm running again. I can't see where it was needed really there is already also the 12v fuse in the panel on that same wire. Video was helpful and now I have spare parts on hand if one of the control boards goes out.
Thanks for this. I happened to have pretty much the same model and was able to troubleshoot my father's fridge within a couple hours and fix it. Due to the summer months the soonest anyone could get out to check it was 3 weeks, which is bad when the camper is being lived in.
That is one of the main reasons I try to fix things myself. Trying to get anything done quickly in the RV industry is hard enough, much less get it done right.
Same issue with my fridge very helpful
Glad it helped
Awesome trouble shooting video!
Thank you. Glad it was helpful.
@@SeidelRanch yes, I was thinking the board was the issue and then after your video I went to look and saw why it was not failing in the propane mode. All the freon had leaked out...just like yours!
