I cammed heads a 400 Pontiac you can see on my ch and it def delayed 2-3 on my stock TH400 but it never shifted slower. It would fail eventually but not soon. Surprised me how power up and trans mods are hand in hand though. So apparent
Performabuilt 4l60e. Level 2 or 3 will do. Black series would probably be overkill but it will take whatever you throw at it especially in that car. Im running a level 2 4l60e in a crew cab truck and its holding up fine, i have heads cam intake and stall. Im not launching on slicks at the track though. But i do beat on it alot and i have trucool 40k trans cooler also
Changing your 3.42 out for higher will definitely get you into the 9s. Looking forward to seeing what my 01 Z28 can do with this new set up. HCI & spray but I'm a 6 speed with 9" & 28 slicks
Damn that thing utterly rips for all stock except for a cam and tune (and on nitrous on some of them)????? Freaking amazingly fast. And this is a stock transmission/converter?
Sadly the scales were down that day. Last year it weighed 3037, It should weight a bit less this year. Low 2900s. Without driver. I’m an addition 280-290 as you can see in the vid 😂
LS1OW so the first 2 passes on the bottle were u purging off the line ? I’m just curious to how ur times changed so much as u kept going. Like what did u change up with each pass
Yep every past i noticed your 3gr is geting weaker.. i woul recomend dont fix the 4l60e go for 4l80e.. i be truh 6 times fixing mine, finally i m done with the 60e.. also would recomend to go for a th400 or a power glide with a wery nice stall than the problem fix

It did a best MPH on motor this day of 120 MPH and then went 132-133 by the end of the day with a 150 shot. A few of the passes in this video are testing and making adjustments and also running out nitrous pressure. Near the end of the day we used our 2nd full bottle and got the best times of the day

You have to overfill them and use tractor trans fluid

How did it only pick up 4mph adding 150whp?
My guess, probably that trans has had enough (it had a 2-3 shift flare by the last pass) or the converter may be too inefficient for nitrous.
Little bit of both. The SS4K stall isn’t the best for spray, and the trans doesn’t like the extra 150 to much lol
