We all appreciate Andrew's commentary in this channel but Tom's humor sense is off the charts too. I mean " stealth and warmth like when my nan was a ninja". How do you come up with that 😂
If the Cellini was available in stainless steel instead of gold, I’m sure they would sell a lot more. I think this is a stunning watch, but unfortunately in gold, outside most people’s budgets.
I just picked up Overseas third generation for 20K in the states. Same watch about a year ago was double the price so I could not be happier with the purchase, fantastic watch.
@@BobbyDazzler888It has been a grail watch for a long time and during market spike i gave up on ever acquiring it but thank God market crashed. Sometimes patience is key.
Thanks gents, Nice to see my watch buying timing vindicated. Over the past 10 months or so I’ve purchased a BlackBay Chrono black dial which I then traded for a Chrono Panda, and more recently, I’ve also bought the BB Pro. Good to know that I was buying them at the right time.
The Code and the Aquanaut couldn't be more different. The Code is vastly superior craftsmanship to the Royal Oak in every way, whereas the Aquanaut cuts every corner of the Nautilus
Let’s face it nearly everything is dropping like a stone. The Watch bubble has definitely popped in a big way and it’s going to get worse. Even Rolex is starting to sell watches without a song and a dance. The retail prices are now too high and people are selling watches off rather than buying them.
I'm sure we all have "the watch that got away." In my case it was a Rolex Cellini, solid platinum, that in 2020 at the height of COVID was selling for $6000. I waited too long (mostly because I wasn't too keen on its Mother of Pearl dial though it was a men's watch) and when I looked again, it was sold. I bought a Grand Seiko instead.
out of all the 10, the Black Bay Chrono stands out the most for me. I love that Tudor maintains its underrated underdog image, as it makes it more achievable for guys like me. Love the video Andrew keep 'em coming!
@@alansmith4395 True story bud, that is precisely why when I was presented with the choice to get a Black Bay GMT and a GS, i chose to get the latter for my 1st big buck buy.
My biggest gripe with the Black Bay Chrono is the hour hand completely blocks the sub dials rendering them totally useless if you want to use them at 3 or 6 o’clock. If they gave it different hands and shaved a couple millimeters off the thickness I would buy it instantly though.
Andrew. That Omega is called the “Globemaster” because it is a True GMT movement in the sense that the hour hand is adjusted independently to the local time as the traveler moves between time zones.
Grand Seiko offers several very well thought out GMT’s allowing four different movement/price options. They are all above average in design and among their best tool watch offerings. Quartz, mechanical, mechanical hi-beat & spring drive. There should be something for most anyone. As I recall, assuming it’s still offered, they have a very nice quartz GMT that likely splits the difference in prices between the Longines and Tudor. GS has an impressive lineup. I’m not big in GMT in general, but that whole lineup should be considered.
Thank for the Video, all the discounts you mention could be get direct in a AD or you mean in the grey market als pre owned? In any AD which sell many different brands like omega, breitling etc... it is sometimes easy to get 20% discount. In the officially shop of Omega eg. Rarely would you get a discount. What do you think?
If anyone's looking for the Oris there's no need to buy pre-owned. High street ADs are fighting to give you 30% off this watch brand new. Shame if you paid full price but a great deal for the canny buyer. It's a good watch too.
I always had an issue with the Cellini line in that it seems like a nice watch but Rolex brand power and the demand on its other models undercuts its own watches (in the Cellini line). A person can take an Oyster Perpetual or Datejust for half the price and throw it on a nice leather strap and have just as prestigious of a watch and more recognizable. I think there was no way the Cellini line would succeed in this way. Not unless the movements were visible and a higher caliber more decorated movement.
These are almost all watches which got hyped up because everything else was already hyped up or the rrp was just ridiculous. Now the prices are just where they should be or even just less overpriced.
My IWC Mark 16 was £2500... Half the price of the new Mark 20. These are stunning watches if you want a pilot style... But then again, CWC make awesome military watches, fixed lugs and natos, durable and reliable, for just a few hundred £££ Out of all those, the Cellini is lovely
I think there's a law against showcasing the VC Overseas and not showing one with the Blue Dial which is argued by many to be the best Blue Dial in all of watch making regardless of price. It's a bit like showing a GS and it not being the Snowflake.
I wholeheartedly agree with your inclusion of the Globemaster on this list. I recently purchased a lightly-used 2022 Globemaster. Fantastic watch and an amazing bargain.
Thanks for the content lads. We still really haven't hit the full recession yet, so the discount off RRP will get larger. Loads of stock was sold during the QE give away. This has bounced back in the harder times. Long term, things look bleak, but there will be huge bargains.
Always wondered.. what is the point of a watch withstanding 11000m WR? In such situation the hand of the wearer would be already crushed to mere liquid..
The BB Pro is considered by many as the modern homage/re-issue of the Rolex Explorer 2, ref 1655, of the 1970s. They do look similar tbh. The 1655 for some reason got known as the ‘Steve McQueen’ (assuming he wore one himself) but actually there’s no photographic record of him ever doing so.
Fine but why is there a standard Black Bay Pro on WF's site right now, for £4,500? A grand above list and two grand above everybody else's used prices?
Pump n dump schemes. Rolex has a scare over the production of its Pepsi GMTII. Really? Biggest manufacturer of luxury watches in the world can't make one of its iconic lines? Prices are higher, grey market dealers are winning (wonder who started the rumours) give it 18 months when Pepsi is still available...they will offer to buy it back for £14k, when you have paid £17k or £18k. (remember, original Batmans from 2013 would be a great investment? not so much now, the list goes on.) Create a delist rumour, or false scarcity, inflate prices, cash in, then wait. It's kind of shameless. Hopefully, people just buy watches they like. I do own the Omega NTTD, bought from AD with a healthy discount. I would still lose money if I sold, pretty much like anything else I buy (from cars to clothes). Who cares, love the watch, so not a concern. Be a better world once watches stop being an investment, and become a store of value, with some initial deprecation, like many things in life. But these hype watches, be it "rare" or "maybe delisted" is a way for grey market dealers to make money during this return to normality/high-interest rate world.
Tried to buy a Rolex from Watchfinder this week. They gave me the worst service ever. They would not even cover the shipping of the box back to my home country. They told me there were a lot of post offices I could use near their shop in London. Seriously, I'm not making this up. Their attitude was worse than a Rolex dealer. In the end I just gave up! Thanks for all your great high quality videos.
@@reesebroekhoven3962 Yes it true. I wanted to buy a 16570 Explorer 2 on Monday. We fixed a price and where I was going to pick the watch up from.
