At best, if I wait 2 hours after taking Arthritis Strength Tylenol, I can use a 75 year old pair of pliers to open bottles of tea or soda, otherwise, I simply can’t open them no matter how hard I try. You have provided me with multiple tools to help in the kitchen and around the house. Thank you SO much!
I remember my late, 92 year old mother, holding containers up and saying " How do they expect an old lady to open this?". Now I am turning into my mother for I say the same now ! Thanks for that most informative tutorial. I am having shoulder replacements soon and your videos have been the best I have seen on TH-cam, and imbued me with confidence. On vitamin supplement and medication bottles with a seal on top, I take an X-Acto knive and cut a v-shape slightly larger than the capsule or pill size. If there's cotton, I pull it out slowly with tweezers. I can be clumsy opening those bottles at times and this way if I do drop it, most of that expensive medication/supplements stay in the bottle and not scatter all over the floor.

I ❤ this! I want to tell you how much hope you have given me. I felt i had to feel so defeated because i have lost grip strength in both my hands. What can you use to open bags like cheese that has rip part on top and a plastic zipper below. ? How about bags like potato chip bags to open which i used to grip with both hands and pull open? How to open kielbasi or hot dog that has a little corner to pull the plastic open that does not have much if a grip on a corner.
I have a hard time unscrewing the cap on the half and half container before I even get to the pull ring. There is a click stop in the screw cap and I have arthritis. I also have a really hard time with the Vitafusion push down screw tops. Once I get them open. Never close them all the way.
Mine have a tab to push & then twist off, but if you turn the lid upside down that portion of the lid is threaded and you can just close & unscrew it like that.

The hardest containers for me to open are the hummus, salad, and dip containers with from Trader Joe's. Their plastic seals' adhesion seems to be unnecessarily tight. Will that microwave tool work on them or is there something better to use?
pre made salads come with a clear plastic lid that are HARD to remove. Will the hot pot gripper work for those since it is so much larger than a peach or applesauce cup? I loved the tips. I bought all the gadgets...except the pickle key. BUT I may buy that because getting my Rubbermade containers open is a bear.
Anyone have any tips for those canisters that have the aluminium seal that is connected under the rim of the lid? I’m afraid to getting little shavings in the product and I also just sliced my thumb on the remaining bits. It’s on the protein powder canister so you really need to put your hand with the scoop into the canister. I can’t find any tips on this particular issue. I feel like Joey from Friends trying to open and pour milk: “There’s gotta be a better way” This video is so helpful, thanks for making this :)
Does the pickle key work to open the cheese dip (gordo's), because that is on the corner of the container. Or the pimento cheese (palmetto brand) that seems to have break away edges.
I have a generic brand of meds that come in a box of blister packs of 6 pills. They have arrows showing you to peel open at the corners of each blister and unlike most of those kind of packages this one just will not open easily. I can't get the two layers to separate even if I manage to get a nail between them, it's so frustrating. 😖 I sometimes end up cutting open the blister with my nail scissors. Ugh. I don't have arthritis but I do have weaker hands now that I'm 78, plus a little neuropathy from chemo 9 years ago. It doesn't help when you're tired and it's your bedtime med that gives you grief.🤨
How would you teach toddlers to open cheese sticks or milk cartons? Do some simply not have the strength in their hands yet? Signed, classroom assistants everywhere.

The pickle key is basically a smaller version of the tool to take lids off 5 gallon buckets. Super smart!

Check to see if they're threaded on the top. If so, you can put the lids on upside down and you can screw them closed that way.
Prescription med bottles, the kind where you push down the lid and twist, I find these difficult to open.

A piece of packaging tape or Scoth tape just past the edge might help.

I find difficulties, pulling off that metal pool top lid on soups, and vegetables without spilling everywhere or worried about cutting myself
