This woman is incredible doing these demonstrations, she's so fluid with her instructions and communications. I got so much out of watching her videos in such a short period of time.
Another comment here in favor of the 'under seat bidet' attachments. One of the best purchases I have made and that's with no mobility issues (yet, thankfully). Does an excellent job of cleaning which results in significantly less paper use - really only a little needed to pat dry. Which also means, for those with mobility challenges, a wiping aid also only needed to pat dry. Done. Easy as can be.
This issue is not talked about enough! Many of us have dexterity problems without obesity. surgery or other disabilities.I was able to manage fine until I had shoulder surgery. Thankfully, I got the second device which I like and is a life saver. At least I have independence in the toilet while recovering! Thanks for your videos and demonstrations!
I had my spine fused two years ago from my T10 all the way down to the end of my sacrum. I’m unable to twist my torso at all. I have the third item on the table. It makes cleaning one’s self so much easier. I just wish it folded for travel. She did a fantastic job with her demonstration.
Hi there! I hope your surgery went well! I would like to know which tool you used and liked. My 89 yr old mom is getting a laminectomy & fusion of 2 vertebrae....both procedures are lower back so no twisting.
@@privatsitazen I bought the one called Juvo. I got it on Amazon. It has a button on the top of the handle and a longer one on the handle. They both lock the paper in place. It has 2 paddle like grippers to hold the paper once you lock the device. It’s very easy to clean it off with warm water and liquid soap. I wish I could send you a picture. I hope your mother does well after the surgery. Eagles and Horses
@@EquipMeOT Want the best? Get a garden sprayer and heat the end to curve it and then adjust the sprayer nozzle to clean your butt first, in Asia they all use a sprayer (lived there for 5 yrs) and you will find it heals hemorrhoids super fast and keeps them healed, and it is the best feeling and cleaning you will ever find, and you use alot less toilet paper as well. I have just had my dominant shoulder operated on, while my other hand is keen to assist, I have been surprised at how differently it handled 'activities'. I can see the thought that has gone into these aids, which happily for me, I have not yet needed. The spinal operation highway has already been travelled now the rotator cuff rebuild pathway is being explored. Thank goodness for women who can cover touchy subjects with such a clear, 'let us get this sorted attitude'. I need to get sorted, it is only day 6, and I am probably doing more that I should, but I now live alone and must avoid the mantrap of letting thing overwhelm me. You are a great inspiration, even if things deteriorate, there are solutions to bring them back from the brink of disaster without drama.
i have shoulder replacement surgery coming up in a few months, so thanks for all of these tutorials. i do have a bidet built in to my toilet but also own the handheld bidet for when not home & like it. but i'd urge people to learn to use it well in advance of surgery, since there is a learning curve on aiming.
I would also recommend a toilet-mounted bidet! For around $50, you can get one that attaches to a water line and has variable adjustments and pressures so that you wash away waste and get completely clean every time, saving a ton of paper. You might want one of these to use with a wash cloth for drying afterward. I will never not have a real bidet again! It eliminates urinary tract infections from not getting clean.
By the time I thought about getting one, there wasn't enough time before my shoulder surgery to get one and install it. One thing that made me hesitate is that the water line that it would hook to is on the same side as that shoulder, so I assume the controls would be on that side too, which would defeat the purpose.
@@lisagd22Get a handheld bidet. Wash top bidets with a lot of force can damage you and I had this happen and it was the worst hemorrhagic experience I’ve ever had and it put me in the hospital.
The Juvo is a life saver! I saw this video as I was preparing for my lumbar microdisectomy and I'm SO happy I got this. I had difficulty getting the toilet paper off afterwards BUT if you use it with disposable wipes it's super easy. This is as much of a necessity as a grabber is.

I'm so happy I found this video! I wanted to buy something for myself but didn't know how to use it. Thanks again for your clear understanding information 👍 🙂 😊 👌
I had my spouse put a handheld bidet sprayer on my toilet for after hip replacement surgery. It is one that has extra long extension and brass fittings. Well worth the price! it is not a hot water one but that does not bother me. Totally worth the investment!
Lindsay, you are incredible. I love your videos however, on this topic I would highly suggest people to watch your bidet video. A simple add-on bidet will make life so much easier for people needing wiping assistance. People please don't be hard headed about the bidets, they are wonderful, cheap, and easy to install on any toilet.

When taking care of my dad with severe dementia, the Juvo aid was a real help. Dad was on some Parkinson's med that really fouled up toilet time. The duckbill gripper and angled head really helped when taking care of dad on the toilet. (It was an unpleasant task, but the Juvo was much better than the other options we tried.) We also used a squeeze bottle bidet make everything go easier for him.
Thank you for making these videos. I will be going in for Laminectomy and Microdiscectomy in a couple of days. It occurred to me that I may need help in cleaning myself. I'm a bit indecisive on what to get. Very informative and really helped to making a more clear decision.

Thanks so much for these demonstrations - they have been so helpful as I prepare for rotator cuff surgery! How easy is it to use the portable bidet one handed - are you able to get a good connection of the water reservoir to the bidet so that it doesn't fall apart when using?
I have tried a number of these I have found getting the paper off when you are releasing the paper. I use a bidet at home! I have a back Problem and can’t bend enough what I have found the best is a kitchen tong like device coming home from PT they gave me a long one, when that bit the dust I have used the all metal kitchen type they are shaped like a pair of scissors! In replacement I have found the normal ones with a bent head work just as well! Both are available from Amazon! I love your videos!

@meowrchl97 We were talking about #2, wipe front to back, from behind, upwards motion. For those with female genitalia this helps avoid irritating (and embarrassing) infections.
I had one like the second one which just completely bit the dust. Since I put pressure on the stick against the toilet seat, it had begun separating and I had to duct tape it so it wouldn't pinch my skin, and now the part near the release button is coming off. I have the Juno portable with a travel case for when I'm out, so I'm thinking of getting the one piece one for home, but I'm hoping it can stand up to the pressure.
I've got the 2nd one. It doesn't fold tho. I didn't have it long when the rubber handle split and started coming off. I think because you've gotta grip so hard while pushing that button on the end. I've been considering getting a new one but don't have much money. I don't know which one to get. Other than handle prob, the blue one has been OK. I do a little dif when using. I just wrap enough toilet paper to use a few times in one sitting. Tearing off as I wipe. That's so I don't have to reload nor do I have to push that button. 🤷♀️
