gay shrink You’re so sweet👍 Yes I completely edited that in LF and it wasn’t even that glitchy because it wasn’t too many key frames. That first minute did take me a few hours though. LOL but that’s because I has to build those sliding titles but now they’re done so I have them for the future. Thanks again.
Tammy Sypniewski : I’m a subscriber of yours :). I don’t comment on Luma Fusion stuff as I don’t use it, I’m a desktop Premiere Pro user but I always love a good microphone/audio test and you have the perfect smooth/sultry voice ( that’s a compliment & innocent).
These are the exact 2 I'm deciding between, thanks for breaking it down, still can't seem to decide lol, enjoyed the ending test, think only wish you filmed a sample clip outdoors. Rode is on sale right now I think for $55-60 so they're essentially the same price give or take $5-10, I'm leaning towards Movo only because of its carrying case, makes it easier to transport for travel, since my older mic was sometimes difficult to transport logistically, and it actually had a case, but was a soft case, can't imagine transporting a caseless microphone.
Thank you for the “VS.”. I have used the Rode for several years and it’s been fine. The big problem for me was not being able to monitor the audio and playback without unplugging the mic. I had considered the Movo because, to my ears, it has a more pleasing low quality; glad I waited for the Pro. Now I can monitor and have very pleasing quality. I would give Rode another point for the wider grooves on the shock mount lockdown ring. This holds the cable securely so the mic doesn’t bounce. Movo doesn’t have wide enough grooves. I appreciate your channel. You have helped me tremendously.
J. V. Murray You’re welcome. Here’s the vlogging secret, we wrap the cable around the mic so that the wire is taught. You won’t need the cable management then. Thanks for your tips. 😉
I love the intro it was so funny, i was wanting to do a comparison of the two also because ive been using the rode video micro for two years for my on camera mic. been wanting to test the waters with other devices, ive also had my eye o that new deity. This was a great video
Hi Tammy! One thing I noticed from the 6 ft test was that it sounded like you were standing slightly farther from the MOVO, but I think it’s still sounds pretty good. Thank you for another amazing video!
HI, great video , which mic would you go with for recording guitar and backing music ? i am having trouble just using the mic on the sony VZ-1f i have , let me know what you think ,Thanks
Thanks for the review - I did decide on the MOVO - only comment is that the dead cat comparison is kinda week. The purpose of a dead cat is to kill the wind - doesn't matter how good looking or easy it goes on if it does not do the job. Would like to see a comparison that was done outdoors in wind. I was trying to decide between the movo and the diety d4 mini and could not find a vs video there (but chose the movo based on what I heard about the effectiveness of the dead cat).
Hi, thanks for the nice video. I only make documentaries outdoors, for working people (ethnic groups in remote countryside). I would like to ask a question please: I have a GH6 camera and its microphone is good. Again, I don't use the camera in my country, but only when traveling far. If you were me, would you use a small external mic or would you do without it? Thank you.
Question. If I use the vxr10pro and want to record say a duet on tik tok where i need to rely on the audio from the tik tok video to answer back or reply back to the video. With the headphone out will i able to hear the audio from the tik tok video and record at the same time? Basically does the headphone out act as a headphone port for the whole phone or just to hear the mic??
Thanks Jeff. I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel. Did you notice that they used a portion of this video in the Movo commercial on Amazon? LOL. I didn’t know until my friend reached out to me to say she saw me on tv.
Thanks for the in-depth info! I currently use MOVO VXR10-PRO, and I'm generally happy with the quality. I want to use it on a boom arm, though, and the cable that comes with it only allows it to be used as an on-camera microphone. I looked at the extension cable you listed in the description, and it's designed for cameras, not smartphones (which is what I am using). Do you have a recommendation for an extension cable designed for smartphones?
Another great review thank you. Could I ask you how did you connect this microphone ? Did you use any audio interface or just directly to the computer during recording .
That you for this video, I just ordered the movo because you influenced my decision with your test, on the movo shock mount that does not have the little extra rubber piece to help the shock mount absorb extra noise from moving about and handling, here's a tip, get a 1/4 wide piece of rubber band and trim it to either the size of the barrel of the mic to wrap it around the barrel or glue it to the shock mount where the mic sits
Awesome video TAMMY. Thanks for sharing. Keep the amazing content coming. How are you? Always a pleasure seeing you. Hope you have an awesome weekend. Much love
Hi Tammy. As usual good movie. But.... Unfortunately you can NOT monitor audio with movo. You can ONLY play audio and only from smartphone that's all. You are unable to monitor your voice when you do recording. That's misleading ;) Buying Rode microphone is better as rode company are doing the best microphones on the word so the technology behind is more better and fare stable. I mean usually Chinese stuff coming without warranty and works for short period of time. Companies like rode possess massive experience. Chinese companies I'm afraid they have massive experience only with knocking off someone's products. For me the winner is still rode even without fancy box etc ;) Thanks for the movie!
Hey, I just got around to reading your comments. I disagree with your assessment of Rode my friend but that's the great thing, we all can have differing opinions. The first microphone I ever purchased for my studio was the RodeMic Go, total POS. Back then it was around $100, whic was all I really wanted to spend at the time. Once that was a waste I had to purchase another microphone but I wanted to go budget so I purchased the Boya vlog mic. It sounded better than the rode mic and I think it was only $30. I used that mic for awhile before I purchased my Deity studio mic. I purchased the Rode PodMic for voiceovers but I don't think it sounds any better than my Samson Q2U, it just looks nicer, plus I had to buy a Fethead because it's so gain hungry. Thanks for your opinion friend. Take care!
Hi Tammy I enjoy your videos, and your pleasing to look at, I have the movo vxr10 pro on my galaxy note 9 and my videos sound pretty good, do you think that if I added a second movo vxr10 pro to the mix using a dual input trrs adapter that it would enhance my video audio quality even further?
@@tammysypniewski1891 No not on myself I put my note 9 in a cage thing and ontop it has two cold shoe slots on the left and right side so I use the right to mount the movo and thought maybe I should purchase another movo for the left side and it would enhance the sound further, I use Davinci resolve
Thanks so much, made the decision easy. With good headphones there wasn't a noticeable difference in sound quality. I wanted a small shotgun for videos in studio, this is perfect.
RODE is general is hard to beat. The company specializes in nothing but microphones and makes everything in house, even the capsules in which is why their product sounds 2-3 times the price of their competitors - They don’t have to pay third-party suppliers. For those looking to get better sound, do not use the cameras mic input due to preamps in cameras not being designed for professional sound. Personally, I use RODE M5s that are just $200 but sound like they are twice that much. You would also be amazed with the RODE SC6-L with supported mics or using RODEs i-XY on your iPhone - both provide direct transfer of cleaner audio to Luma Fusion ;). Sound is one of those things that stick out to me with any content creators and the learning basics like compression, EQ, preamps and over all microphone technique go a long way, both single and multi-track. I loved this video by the way.
I agree with the case , the head phone jack and the price I think the movo takes it. As far as sound quality I couldn’t really tell much of a difference, and besides I always salt and pepper the sound a little in post anyways. And to you another great video 👍
You know on the rode video micro you can attach the cable in the little slots of the thumbscrew where you tighten it down to the hot shoe of your camera

I'm sorry, but I don't think this comparisson is valid. You can't compare two microphones in a controlled environment. I could make any $100 mic sound like a studio professional $1000+ if I wanted to. If you really want to know which one is better, since they are targeted towards vlogers, get them out of the house into a noisy area with a lot of ambient noices and see how they perform there. It's a no from me. But, I liked the ambience of the video👍
Oh no! You don’t have a mic for your singing? Sounds good anyway for sure. If you want to get better audio record externally and sync it in LF. Just record it into your phone. I’m sure you have a microphone, or many. LOL
I’m listening back through my studio monitors and studio headphones. The Movo is distorting unpleasantly in the mid-highs and highs. This could be due to the cameras preamp being too high. Regardless, the RODE has a more neutral/flat sound in which means it has headroom for EQ, compression and gain compensation. RODE made this mic knowing users would likely slap a track preset on it so they made sure it was neutral/flat. Still, the Movo is heads above the cameras integrated mic so it’s well worth the money if you can’t afford the RODE.
I’d have to agree. For the price difference and considering the similarities in performance I would think Rode should include the cables and case.
