- Walking London at sunrise as the city begins to come to life on a hazy morning, from St Paul’s Cathedral in the City of London to Farringdon Station, including the Barbican Estate, built between 1965 and 1976, filled with brutalist architecture, and Smithfield Market, an historic weekday market with stalls selling meats, poultry and provisions such as oils and cheese.
Sights seen include St Paul’s Cathedral, Temple Bar Gate, Paternoster Square Column, Paternoster Sculpture, St. Paul’s Station, Butchers’ Hall, Barbican Station, Barbican Estate, Smithfield Market, Port of London Authority and Farringdon Station.

The Barbican is the vision of the brave new world architects had Back in the 60s. Remarkable estate and a pretty good concert Hall, where I once marvelled with a rendition of the Messiah by the London Symphony and choir. Thank you

Nice vid. This is going into my 'Gentle ASMR' playlist. I Used to visit The Barbican at least once a week when I lived over in Streatham (until 2014), to (among other things) spend time in the large library to sit in a quiet corner to read; the estate has such an interesting look about it and I enjoyed walking through the unusual layout and architecture to get to the library, especially from Moorgate station. I remember those great little spaces with seating, inside and outside The Barbican, and the surrounding estate, where you can just relax for a few hours, maybe while having a bite to eat.
I used to travel up there mainly on a weekend, grab a coffee and something to munch from around the corner if I wasn't going to sit in the library, and find a comfortable area and sit there for a few hours either reading or studying (often surrounded by a few others doing the same). It's such a nice atmosphere around there. I loved it so much that even when I was living in Hayes for a few years, I still used to travel down to The Barbican Estate, maybe once or twice a month at the weekend just to experience the vibe.
Always found it really peaceful and like therapy; it was rarely overcrowed (aside from when big events where happening); I have to wonder if others were there to experience that serenity too.

Ok so I’m kinda freaking out bc just recently I fell in love with folamour’s ordinary drugs album art, idk I was just obsessed with the colors, texture and overall vibe and I acheddddd wondering what building they were at when they shot the cover. But I also had this weird feeling that I would at some point in my life randomly come across that building on my own and then sure enough at 17:28!! I’m 99% sure that is the same building!! Lmao idk I know it’s not that crazy but me randomly finding that building in a random pov tour feels crazy to me 😭🙌 can someone tell me the name/address if that building??
