Here is a video of my Trex 470LP showing the Futaba settings and a short flight. PD. I actually changed the D/R for CH4 to -10 in order to have a more responsive tail.
Not bad with your hovering. With practice, flying gets easier and easier. For the new pilots, I agree that the 470 is a great heli to start with. Smaller Helis are less intimidating, and the 470 will grow as far as the pilot. In the video, I noticed your gyro gain for the tail is too low to give you a solid lock in avcs mode. It looked more like normal mode. That can hinder your progress. The low gain is why your tail was kind of wandering around, that happens with lower headspeeds, the gain is probably set to work well at higher headspeeds. Turn up the tail gyro gain and try again, keep going with little hops until the tail wags fast, and then turn it back down a few points until the fast wag stops. When you feel more confident and want more power, you'll have to remember to turn it down as head speed increases. Also, headspeed does provide more stability, but cyclic will feel too aggressive. You can turn cyclic down separately from collective. I recommend not really using any expo, just turn down cyclic. If your cyclic is set at 8° or higher, it is set for fast 3d. Try 6-7°, 6° is just about right for a beginner, but don't try to flip or roll with it that low. It will just be too slow. If you don't already have one be sure to get a pitch guage and swash leveler. Something else to mention, the servo should not have locked up. You might have a mechanical issue putting strain on the tail servo. Disconnect the linkage at the tail servo, move the linkage as the servo would to feel the tails mechanical components. The components should all move very freely, as other than the rod, the rest of the components are on bushings and bearings. For some perspective, keep the linkage unhooked, remove the tail and main blades. Do not use full throttle, but spool the heli up to 25-35%, try once again to move the linkage. Note how much force it takes to add even a few degrees of angle at the tail blade grips. This will give you an idea of why there should be absolutely no mechanical binding in the tail's mechanical components. Any amount of binding or sticking can cause problems during flight. Good Luck.
Bro thank you so much for those settings I can’t tell you every time I come on these sites and these channels nobody gives you their settings it’s like they’re all hiding their settings but you you’re a beginner like me and now I have something to work with because you’re settings are awesome you really know your stuff even for a beginner I got the same exact helicopter. I have finished the build now and am sorting out the RX-Beast settings. I'm not sure if I've got it right, but things seem to move in the right direction. Now waiting for a calm day for a garden test!

Hi Bruno, I am planning on buying this helicopter soon and I also am a beginner with helicopters but I have a lot of experience flying airplanes. I have started off with smaller helicopters but as you said they are not stable when hovering. I am confused about how to setup this helicopter since I have no experience on helicopter settings. I know about dual rates and expo but nothing on hold pitch, throttle pitch etc.... Anyway, I'm reading as much as I can on settings so I'll get there finally. I am glad I can help you. The heli only settings are not that hard to understand once you put it into practice. For example the Normal Pitch 3:39 have 5 positions, the numbers you put depends on your style of flying. In the video I put the 1st position on 27% so the heli lifts quickier when you move the stick up. The other numbers have to be so the pitch curve is progressive with no sudden ups or down. Top tip is to use a Excel sheet and put the 5 number and make a line chart. The graphic should have a developing gradually line. If not change the numbers until you get it. I will make a video on those heli specific settings.

A parte si pones las helices de la cola de 69 a 74mm va mas estable y el gas min a 50 en nomal asi en conjunto coje mas estabilidad . Y los servos de serie del 470 LT son suficiente para una persona que no vuela en 3D . :-)))))))))))))))))))))))
I have been practicing on my OMP m1 and M2 with the stabilization off and it is the best. I am planning to build my first rc heli and the Align Trex 470 is my first choice. Does the flybarless microbeast plus help with the first flight? I just want to get the hang of it at first flight just like my M1 and M2 when it had a stabilization button.
Will a 6s 2200 ma battery fit in it. I have several of these already that I use in one of my 3D planes. It’d be nice not to have to get a different size if at all possible. Thank you for the formative video and speedy response. Also did yo get the basic kit or the combo package?

HENK pipo Afraid no answers 😕 One reply said that low head speed is very unstable! My personal thoughts are a straight line if you're new but with the lockdown, I haven't been able to test it. I think when I get the chance, I'll use the factory settings first (carefully). Mine is the ARTF version with transmitter. Let me know how you get on 👍🏻
@@nutleighgrove3658 i got the super combo without the transmitter im using a DX6 with AR6600t reciever i changed the BEC option to slow start but today i tryed to maiden my trex and it almost crashed the tail and head rotor are spining to fast on low throttle and dont seem to work right, i spend over 2 weeks now trying to fix it i cant get anyhelp cuz of the lockdown :( so yea im gonna wait with you till thing get beter and i can get some help
HENK pipo Oh no! 😬 That's what I'm scared of, they're not cheap! Soft start is good. You may need to reset the 5 points on your throttle stick? What happened, did it shoot up too fast or spiral too fast on the rudder/yaw? Was your throttle curved or straight? I'm guessing but I think a straight line from zero > 25% >50% > 75% > 90% would be more controllable and no expo on the cyclic. I've been practicing with my small XK K100 and the expo/dual rate cyclic makes it crash because the centre stick is very sensitive then less sensitive with the stick further out. Are you on mode 2 (left stick throttle)? Suggest getting an XK K100 from Amazon, much cheaper! lol Let me know buddy, Martin. 👍🏻🚁

Segundo pon el Microbeast a modus Sport asi te olvidas de DualRates en la Emisora . Si en modo normal pitch de 0 hast 100 en linea recta y 50 % de Throttle . en Idle up 1 pitch 0-100 linea recta throttle 60% y por lo ultimo Idle up 2 Pitch 0-100 y thaottle o Gas a 70% asi poca a poco aprendes volar mas real en 6S . Imprtantismo es los 6 Grados en los Parametos del Micobeast Plus , Gyro Headlocking Mode y Pitch de 12 a 13 en -100 y mas +100 en Pitch . y el Tailboom por la fueraza lo pondria como es en orginal . Y muy importanta de gastarse un dinero en un simulador de Vuelo para aprender como se vuela en 3D . Saludos desde Alicante España y a disfrutar a este fantastico Heli . PS tambien yo lo vuelo con Lipo 2000mph 6S 70C que mires que esta el peso en medio totalmente igualado si no con Plomo en el canopi o al final de la cola tambien haze mucho :-))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

For beginner you can use 4s 2200-2600mAh packs and bump the throttle curve up. You will get much longer flight times.

I like the idea of the tail boom replacement. Have you drilled holes like in the original one, or you just did put it tight so it can't turn?

Hi, the KST is the model X12-508 Micro Digital Metal Gear Servo. The tail one is the stock Align.
The align tail servo just made me crash. Sad. I am getting BK servos for the head and tail.

Yea. That batt size will fit. Most align heli kits comes only with the motor and ESC. You need to buy tools, radio, servos, receiver, etc.

Trash the original align servos. I crashed 2 weeks ago because the align tail servo froze on me.

looks like your gyro gain is set too high i see the tail wagging too much. try lowering the gain and it will quit that wagging
