I've been doing this for several years but I now have a cover with a zip all the way on the three sides. Just lay the duvet/comforter on the cover and then pull the upper part of the cover over the top and do up the zip.
I am going to try that this morning. I’m on my own and have a king size quilt and I’m getting on a bit but I think that looks easier than the way I currently struggle so thank you

I’m only in my 40s but have massive problems putting duvet covers on our king-size quilt. I’m definitely going to try this next time to see if this helps as I have problems with my shoulders and cannot lift the weight of the quilt up to put the cover on.
Will try this Sheila luv do fiddle around a long tim before I’m satisfied with the blooming thing will try this at next Chang e thumbs up for that 👍Jean 💕💕😘
I do a similar thing for my king sized duvet & duvet cover. Except, I stand on the bed and shake it out (which is, let's be honest: quite annoying to do). I'll have to give the "unroll on the bed and pretend you have patience" method a shot!

That’s a good way to change your quilt cover I will give that a try
