    Shades of the Greatful Dead here, esp in Scofield's tone and the units ever looping interlocking improv, but also in the harmony....very special!

    I like Martin's touch on the drums! Performing like this on a such limited drum kit reflect a real talent!

      He doesn't need 3 fucking drum towers to sound great....unlike a few I've seen. These guys are all business...the groove business!

    32:57 and just like that they hand the talking stick between John Chris and John. A musical relay race. These guys have some of the best interplay between each other. A lifetime of experience melting together on stage in the moment.

    The best rendition of Louis the Shoplifter I've heard. Beats the album, and that's tough. I wished it would never end until Little Walter kicked in. Magnificent show, lucky you cats were there or most of us would never have been able to experience it. Thanks!

    I'm a musician - I don't care if folks talk during my performances. I am glad they are there and enjoying what I bring when I play. I do not consider my playing so precious that every note needs rapt attention. If one wants quite when listening they can purchase the music and listen quietly at home or on a device somewhere quiet. But for live communal experiences let folks free to experience they way they want to. Just my opinion from the stage.

    • @melee1872
      @melee1872 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Try being in the audience with the jackasses who won't shut up for one moment. I think that tune may change. Just my opinion from the audience. I'm also a musician, and I don't like it when people constantly jabber during my performance or any performance for that matter. The occasional conversation is fine. Just don't go to a concert and never stop talking.

    • @GoDamnWeird
      @GoDamnWeird 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@melee1872 I hate it at a show I've paid to see. People are free to talk at a Bar gig if I'm playing, I'm there for their entertainment not mine...they want to waste their dime? Their dime. So long as they stay off the mic, the Stage is not their space unless invited.

    The playing here is great but, Jesus, that crowd cannot shut the fuck up. I get this in shows in denver all the time too, the moment a good solo comes on everyone starts talking and wooing rather than listening to the notes. Sometimes I get the feeling that half the people come just to get fucked up at a show with their friends, rather than listen to good musicians play good music.

      +Andre Smolko i would suggest you take it for what it is, a LIVE performance. as a musician i love hearing the audience react to what's going on in real time. so what if a few are in the bag, this is what we expect when hangin' out an' watchin' live music where alcohol is being served.
      if you want quite, listening time, a live gig is not for you. stay indoors w/ the home stereo.
      you sound ungrateful and frankly, a bit of a whiner. chris wood is a good feel player, so we tend to get a little exciting when he's layin' it down. you're the type of individual that wants everything YOUR way, end of.
      LIGHTEN UP - life is far too short for your kind of complaining.......geez

    • @newton2013

      I would suggest perhaps, that they are not only listening to the notes, but feeling them. Minus the talkers.

    I saw MMW & Nils cline in Dortmund in 2014. I must say, that was the most quiet crowd I have ever seen & heard. IT WAS GREAT!!! None of this bullshit talking, and wooing...that is why these crowds ruin the show. Shut the fuck up and listen to the band......Scofield stops playing to hike up his pants......wooooooooo,yeeeaahhhh.
