That was incredible - I have never seen that many steam locos in the same location at the same time & further, I have never seen such an unusual operating system of power to the wheels - you have intrigued me to do further research on these types of steam locos. So pleased that firstly you were able to capture this & the fact that they have been restored & are fully operational for future generations of railfans to enjoy. Just amazing.
@@GandAdventures On the Ohio River division we tend to get two mixed freight Trains M817 and M816 and also multiple coal trains and in the city I’m in I see a daily local
@@greatsmokymtnsrailfan Awesome, I rode up to Bald Knob on a train powered by #6 the one time I visited back in 2016 so I have a fondness for that locomotive.
Ojalá esos trenes de vapor sigan hay por muchos años. Yo quiero ir a verlos, pero no puedo viajar a los estados unidos o donde sea que se encuentren esos trenes, me encanta su mecanismo de los trenes
About to say, I think it’s a it’s a mockingbird whistle. There’s a plate in the body of the whistle that slides up and down that changes the pitch. It’s supposed to sound like that.
Wow! That gets me all the more motivated for next weekend's big steam-up in Nevada. Video to follow...
I’ll be sure to check it out!
That one whistle sounds like it’s sick!

I’m glad I sparked an interest! And it was my first time seeing steam locos in action. I have a lot to learn about them myself.
True fact: Shay 5 has been on that track since she was brought to Cass in 1905

Thank you! Loving your content!
Spent the night there some time ago. Wanted to return and bring my grandson, now I have a timeframe to shoot for.
Can we just appreciate Shay number 11 squeaky freaking whistle?
The slide whistle
you mean the fact that it's clearly a busted N&W hooter whistle? the hooter whistle's are not meant to sound like that, it had me cringing.
@@MASTERCHIEF1062 it’s a lunkinhemer mockingbird. Not a N&W hooter
Because it is a old whistle it will be fixed soon
