EXACTLY! omg I so vividly remember that. The atmosphere was so peaceful and welcoming even though 10 minutes ago I was fighting for my life running from those scary monsters. Such a great mix.
The school was my favourite part kf this game. Its a shame i got the bad ending because the game is so unclear even i have played silent hill 2 and 3 before it

I was reflecting about this and how I google every little difficulty I find on games instead of trying to figure it out... back in the day you either could get a magazine containing the walkthrough or do it by yourself which in my opinion was way more fun and gave the terror atmosphere of this game ❤️
@Michael O Callaghan no I found out what it is. I own the ps1 digital version on ps3. He’s playing it on disc. Ps4 controller works with ps1 discs, but not digital games

the timer isn't automated it is controlled manually via a keyboard. but the timer isn't the thing that controls the run it's just a visual reference for me so I have a vague idea how far ahead or behind I am at any given point If you have questions you can just ask them you don't have to comment like the person doing the run (that is, me) won't read them?
