You can use bonus weapons the more game clears you have. More clears = more usage, although hyper blaster is extremely risky, a lot of times you will have too many no aiming shots because it counts as a miss, same with shotgun.
How do you keep track of how many melee and ranged kills you have? Since it doesn't tell you your numbers until the end of the run. Are you keeping track in your head like a madman or something?

I'm not sure about the 50+ game clears thing, but for the shooting style you get more "points" depending on your distance shots, more long range distance shots = you can afford more no aiming shots. With the rifle you really want to go for more long ranged shots and try to claw back any misses that happened with the handgun.

I missed a point blank shot on Twinfeeler with the shotgun because he went down much quicker than I expected, so my last shot was a waste, and it hurt my score. However, on my last playthru, I missed a shot on Floatstinger, but he was further away, so it didn't hurt my score as much.
The shotgun classes as no aiming no matter what, so you really don't want to use it much at all (bosses and maybe a few enemies but that's it), it's exactly the same as the Hyper Blaster except Hyper Blaster never misses afaik, but it has varying damage which makes it annoying to use.

So I reloaded my last save and ran back to find a monster and gun him down. Thankfully, it wasn't too far away. Then, I hurried to the final boss and used your strategy to defeat him quickly, and thankfully, I still managed to beat him in time. Whew!! After 25 years, I finally got the green hyper blaster.
Don't use the hyper blaster at all if you're just going for 10 stars, its a really risky strat to save time, same with shotgun if you can help it, only use it for 1 or 2 bosses.

Start Next Fear, change what options you want, save at the cafe save pad, soft reset, load Next Fear again.

You can do that yeah I think there already exists a script to automatically count them, I'm not doing that here since I'm on actual hardware but yeah.
How did you get fast kill on the First monster?
The Green Hyper Blaster can kill it in 1-2 shots.

Yeah I honestly didn't even attempt 10 Stars back in the day, to me beating the game in 1:30 seemed impossible even without these requirements lol

Looks like you one shorted the enemy in the start it takes more that 6 shot to kill that enemy, so this speed run does not count
