    For people who are free to play, the gold piles up pretty quickly if you do not buy packs or cosmetics. My limiting factor has been time, not gold. I find drafting to be time consuming and stressful. I did my first drafts with ONE and did ok, with over 50% winrate with quick and premiere drafts, but especially with "quick" drafts without a timer, I spent time researching cards during every pick and also looking at other people's drafts to learn and get the most value I could. And then you have to construct the best deck you can, which takes time again. Maybe some people have the personality to just jump in without spending time to learn about the format/set, but not me. This is in contrast to playing constructed, where you can run the same deck over and over

    Just started on Arena. It’s certainly one hell of a grind trying to get the 10k gold to do a Draft to earn the gems needed for the Pass

      You can get over 1000 gold per day if you get 4 wins, so it'll take some time, but you've got enough time to get there.

      @@gameschooldadMTG yeah I managed to get to a draft quite quickly. Due to the 9000 discount pass being offered last week!

    At 4:44 in the video you said it costs 500 gold to enter the quick draft - it actually costs 5000 gold to enter the MOM Quick Draft.

      You're right, too many numbers and it's easy to miss in editing! 🤦‍♂️

    Learning of the Gem sale ahead of time is big. I'll be sure not to fall under 1500 gold from now on

    I do surveys that earn google play rewards... just pooling that up until it gets to the slightly better ratio of gems : cash

    Hey, so now i've got my mastery pass and enough gems for the next one when it comes out. What's the best usage of my leftover gems? Currently using it for premier draft, but maybe buying packs is more value.

      @gameschooldadMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you've got enough to cover the mastery pass, the only thing I would spend extra gems on is events. I prefer Premier Draft because I get about a 60% win rate. It's much better to only use gold for buying packs.

    Anyone have any good event farming decks? Thinking bo1 is the better way to go there.

    i tried bettering my drafting and unfortunately ive found that it ruins the game for me, there was too much stress and disappointment not to mention the effort to even get enough gold for quick drafts was not worth all the tension. I'll be sticking to buying packs, at least i'll betting wildcards that.

      Wildcards should not be underestimated at all! If I didn't enjoy drafting, I would definitely just spend my gold on the latest packs too 👍

      I am a terrible drafter. I just use them to build my collection now as I was getting 0 wins anyway 😂. Thanks for laying everything out so clearly.

    I went 7-2 with the free draft I got from my mastery pass. So I got the 2200 gems I spent on the pass back. Lesson is: draft well, get rewarded 😉

    There's no way to get them without paying for anything I noticed. I'm lvl 28 and only recieved them from apology emails and codes. Cool video though. :). I'm free to play and I'm doing pretty well so far. Silver 3. Only been at it for like 3 weeks

      Gems are the premium currency, so they're going to be harder to obtain in general without spending money, but you don't have to. New players now get 600 gems when they start, then there are daily deals that come up every 6 weeks for turning gold into gems, and playing draft or constructed events will also reward gems when you pay for your entry in gold, so those are also possibilities.
