      Thank you Michael for your enthusiasm.😊 Allan Millyard may like what I do, because he seems like a simple and normal person, which gives him a lot more credit, but he is a GENIUS with an incredible TALENT that does mechanical wonders. This modest retiree is light-years away from his talent.

    Dear Loscar, just stepped over your restauration, reminding me on my own one.
    There are a few things i don,t understand you are doing. First you should have installed the sfc oilpump which helps a lot getting the oil fast to all the important places. Second, even more important, get rid of the bosch contacts, as they may cause holes in the pistons. Electric ignition like the witt ignition is elementary for engine performance and reliability of the engine. Third, the primary chain tensioner should be replaced by the later one which came in 1973.
    And why dont you use a new chain kit, when you have the engine on the table?
    Don, t get me wrong, but those things are kind of essential for this bike.

    great work sofar, but may I ask why the cush rubbers in the clutch bell housing weren't replaced?

    • @LoscarMotorcycles
      @LoscarMotorcycles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Boris 🙂. Yes, it is true that over time, oil and temperature harden the rubber and cause vibrations in the primary chain, but luckily it was still very good.
      Thanks for your interesting question. My best wishes. Loscar

    • @borisbalkan4918

      @@LoscarMotorcycles Hi Loscar, the engine doesn't have a decent filtration per se anyway. Frequent oil changes and good oil is the key to a long engine life. Recheck your static ignition timing. In the video it is set at full advance vs. TDC. Keep up the good work! Boris

    • @LoscarMotorcycles
      @LoscarMotorcycles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@borisbalkan4918 Hi Boris. Totally true. Changing the oil and the filter frequently (is what I do) gives security but there are three points that I want to comment on. 1º They did not design it with an oil pressure lamp (no information). 2º For reasons of space, the filter cannot be bigger than the one I placed. (It's a bit fair). 3rd The pump is located in the upper part with a long suction duct. The slightest obstruction in the suction of the pump affects its flow and this is dangerous. For all the above and for safety, I put the mesh filter back on. Fresh oil is the best filter!

    That was very interesting that you put the pistons in the bore first, before connecting to the rod. Is this particular to the Laverda, or is this your common practice?

    • @LoscarMotorcycles
      @LoscarMotorcycles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Russ.😊 No, it is only for the comfort of having the engine on the table and being able to tilt it without having the weight of the cylinders. Best wishes. Loscar

    Bellissima questa serie sul restauro della laverda. Io sto restaurando quella che era di mio padre, del 72. Posso chiederti che marca e dove posso trovare i segmenti dei pistoni? Grazie

      Caro Giorgio. Dovrebbe essere in Italia dove trovare il pezzo di ricambio per una moto italiana, ma per le mie Benelli, Moto Guzzi e Laverda è stato più facile trovarlo in Germania.
