What I’d like to know, I have the original Loopy HD, of course, it would appear loopy pro is based on Loopy HD, but sure enough, loopy pro appears to have many more features. Can projects from loopy pro be exported to other music production software, including Logic pro? I assume the same as Loopy HD, Loopy pro is only available on iPad, is that so? There’s a few ways to do this.. but if you want to play/control it, the best way would import it as a one shot sample and then assign the midi foot switch to play that sample when pressed. You could then assign the output of that one shot to be the input of a loop donut should you with the record/loop it so you not tapping manually the whole time but gives you the flexibility to ‘play’ the loop. 👍🏻
Man, I’ve been waiting for this to come on Mac ever since I saw your video 2021. A Ableton just came out with a looper that looks similar to this but I really don’t want to use a Ableton also I’m about to buy gig performer. Which looks amazing and I really want it, but I don’t think I would even need that with this considering this is a DAW and I just need basic VST host, routing stuff. A great program and a great tutorial. Thanks a lot. Unfortunately, you often can't see what you just pressed. As a beginner, I sometimes find it difficult to follow.
Yes it does. You can bring it in as an auv3 plugin inside another DAW. So I have had it running inside AUM and tested it with Logic Pro for iPad too. 👍🏻
Loopy Pro requires iOS 12 as a minimum, so any iPad that takes that as Apple are now on iOS 17. I would suggest anything from the 9th Gen iPad and above as you want a bit of power to add AUV3 plugins and have multiple loops going. CPU wise, I never go over 20-25% and I’m running the M1 chip so a new iPad Air would be fine. 👍🏻
Hello .Why i can't use one shot samples , i can only play, but it s not recorded...what i must to do ?for record from the screen...from the button...to the loop
So are you looking to record a one shot and then put that I to the loop? If so, you can do this and you can use the mixer to send the one shot colour (I would advise it has its own colour) to also have a destination of the other colour you want to send it to. We will be talking about the Mixer in depth in episode 4. This will help you.
I have a problem. I record my show with my iPhone cell phone. I record the sound with the iPad (Loopy Pro). When I try to bring both together, the sound from the iPad and the recording from the iPhone diverge. Question: What do I have to consider when taking the photo? what's going wrong? I hope you can help me. Thanks
Sounds like you need to send the sound of the iPad out to the iPhone or record both and use an editor to drop the audio from the iPhone and just have the iPad. That’s how I make these videos and most of my TH-cam channel. I use an editor on the iPad called LumaFusion. It’s awesome.
My problem is that every time i try to record another loop, it seems like the mic is recording the previous loops too - it creates louder and louder "noise" and I actually don't know what to do.
I wish somebody would do this tutorial but slow down. I’m a beginner. Don’t have a clue how to start it. Stop it or overdub it. how can I buy this with confidence I will be using it !

We have the first 10 in the works (9 more to go) and then we will want to being more out about certain topics of Loopy Pro. Looking to get these out to you as soon as possible! 👍🏻
There are general settings on an iPhone or iPad for accessibility for colour and colour differences in the settings. If you change that, it should be system wide for any app. 👍🏻 😊
Hi I appreciate your tutorials very much, I'm a guitar player and I used to play loops with my boss loop station: I'm now trying loopy pro and it seems really great. I have a irig blueboard Bluetooth pedal but I find difficult to pair it with loopy pro. I would really appreciate you to do a step by step tutorial about it, thanks!
OK, yes, "overview", but waaaay TMI for someone who is just getting started. Information overload. I know Loopy Pro is deep, but I'm hoping Ep. 2 will just start with the surface-level basics. In any case, thank you for making this knowledge available in a clear and well-produced format (just hoping the actual tutorials slow way down and take it step-by-step).
@@JohnPaulMusicUK Oh yes, I know, I used to follow your channel back during the pandemic when I first became curious about iOS music production (ultimately got into AUM instead of Loopy), so that is why I immediately clicked on your video to learn about Pro: because I know that you are the expert on it on TH-cam. Already watching Ep. 2 and it is just my speed. Thanks.
That’s a shame. There is a way you can slow the video down on TH-cam. Please try the full series. Hope it’s helpful. Also, maybe try this one which was done before the series - th-cam.com/video/zz2Ggzd1QDo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RYWJwuUn1QUe3wZr
Absolutely. The app is dauntingly complex in itself, and the rushed delivery here doesn’t help at all. Fortunately I won the app, so deleting it will cost me nothing.
@@JohnPaulMusicUK I don’t know why you would want to edit out the pauses between sentences to allow a viewer to absorb what you had just said. Makes no sense at all and makes me frustrated that you went through the effort of making what seems like a good intro and made it essentially unwatchable. I just cannot stand and the uninterrupted monologue without pauses between sentences. I’ve been looking at Loopy Max videos which are so much more viewer friendly but perhaps not in as much depth.
Donuts actually can be rectangles. But can not be squares. Squares can't be donuts, but they can be rectangles. 😮 if this is gonna be a tutorial please talk and show. This is more a overview in words, which is just as overwhelming as loopy's customizable features. Clip and color group concept and behavior is probably one of the important things to explain to new users.
I appreciate that but we don’t want to overwhelm too early and we will have a full video dedicated to customisation including shapes, pages and more. 👍🏼 Stay tuned.
Another failed attempt to explain how this thing works. I have the end of my guitar cable with a nice big 1/4 inch phone jack on it and I have my phone with the ap on it. What next?
You can always watch it at the reduced speed. TH-cam now have this as a service. 👍🏻 apparently someone else watched it at 0.75 speed and said it was better. I’ll try and slow it down for the future ones.
@@JohnPaulMusicUK Thanks for that. It is obvious you have an amazing understanding of things. You are also a very good player and when I get a chance I want to hear some more of your videos on your channel. Thanks again and I will check out that slowing it down feature. Cheers
Clips… behavior You say there are three ways 1. Globally 2. Individually 3. By color You never show us how to do this? Orange is 1 measure so all the other circles are all 1 measure. I want to loop but not tie them together I want orange to be one measure Blue to be however many measures blue is … like it ends up being 4 but I don’t want to explicitly set this manually
You can always change them and the iPad has accessibility features which work on top of Loopy Pro. Things like colour filters. You can also name each loop in the editor too. Hope that’s helps. 👍🏻
At the moment, yes. It’s being developed on iOS and then Mac. It’s LITERALLY one guy who has made this, not a huge company.. so hopefully he can make it onto android. 🤞🏻
it would be worth it. it's an amazing app. I'm just not willing to pay hundreds of Euros for the hardware. In that case a Boss 505 would be the wiser choice, I don't use smartphones much... @@JohnPaulMusicUK

How do we download templates??? Help! 🙏❤️
Weyyy Heyyy! Looks awesome... I wonder if it's duo-friendly?! 🤣
With the right audio interface.. yes. 👍🏻 😉
Good work! Will there be a PC/MAC desktop version of Loopy Pro?
Yep. Mac version is currently in early alpha already, with VST support. PC version is still in the “aspirational” phase, but I really want to do it.
where you can bay it ? how much does it cost??
The App Store - apps.apple.com/gb/app/loopy-pro-looper-daw-sampler/id1492670451
will LOOPY PRO be also for android devices...windows PC ...? or for Apple only ?
It’s coming to Mac soon.
Loopy Pro has a roadmap and you can vote too - have a look here: roadmap.loopypro.com
That’s great!!❤
Thank you kindly! We’ll make a playlist for it so you can binge watch and refer to it as time goes on.
I was thinking the clip behavior is general, color than clips🤔
Hi there ATastyPixel. Any plans to program LoopyPro for Android users?
Very good question for @aTastyPixel - you can request future updates here: roadmap.loopypro.com
Hi John. Thanks for your reply
Is this better than using a loop pedal?
That’s a good question but the beauty is that you can use a midi pedal to control it and have the best of both worlds. 👍🏻
Checkout the rest of the series.
2am premier. 😂. I'll catch up with you in the morning brother. Just saw it's tomorrow night. I'll catch it Friday morning
Yeah it’s 8am UK time. Hehe.
@@JohnPaulMusicUK🎉😮😂
I have an Octatrack, this seems pretty similar, better in many ways.
Lots this can do and lots more to come!
Can i pause a clip on action and resume on action
Yes.
This app is going to change the game.
It certainly is. Here is the playlist for you - th-cam.com/play/PLO36LpORUSaYsDmWvl2tqZr3flIVH2ffl.html
What was the middle thing? Just joking, brilliant tutorial. Thanks
🤣 Glad you liked it! Have a look at the series as this Episode 1
Great! How often are these going to come out?
We have the first 10 in the works (9 more to go) and then we will want to being more out about certain topics of Loopy Pro. Looking to get these out to you as soon as possible! 👍🏻
any chance put colors for color blind people?
There are general settings on an iPhone or iPad for accessibility for colour and colour differences in the settings. If you change that, it should be system wide for any app. 👍🏻 😊
Hi I appreciate your tutorials very much, I'm a guitar player and I used to play loops with my boss loop station: I'm now trying loopy pro and it seems really great. I have a irig blueboard Bluetooth pedal but I find difficult to pair it with loopy pro. I would really appreciate you to do a step by step tutorial about it, thanks!
go to EP 9 for this one.. th-cam.com/video/sfK6SC46ki8/w-d-xo.html
@@JohnPaulMusicUK thanks
If loopy pro can pause and resume it will be great.. currently it is play and stop only
So you mean it doesn’t go back to the start of the loop, it pauses and then can carry on where you paused?
Have you considered the speed at which you speak? That was A LOT of information blasted at us at a very fast pace.
You can slow the speed in the player settings. I watched at .75x speed and it is perfect!👍🏼
That’s totally fair. Our channel has specialised in Loopy HD (previous one) and maybe I got a ‘tad’ excited about this release! 🤣
Thanks.
Aww that’s great! And thank you for the kind words. Enjoy the series. 😊
This video is so hard to watch. No pause between sentences. Just a miasma of speaking. So many better Loopy Pro intro videos out there.
I prefer the speedy, lean delivery. Might be the ADHD though.
Thanks for making this. I don’t have a problem following it. Happy holidays everyone!
So discontinue Loopy HD and create another to milk customers?
Donuts actually can be rectangles. But can not be squares. Squares can't be donuts, but they can be rectangles. 😮 if this is gonna be a tutorial please talk and show. This is more a overview in words, which is just as overwhelming as loopy's customizable features. Clip and color group concept and behavior is probably one of the important things to explain to new users.
I appreciate that but we don’t want to overwhelm too early and we will have a full video dedicated to customisation including shapes, pages and more. 👍🏼
Stay tuned.
Another failed attempt to explain how this thing works. I have the end of my guitar cable with a nice big 1/4 inch phone jack on it and I have my phone with the ap on it. What next?
Episode 3 - Gear.
nice but please slow it down mate
You can always watch it at the reduced speed. TH-cam now have this as a service. 👍🏻 apparently someone else watched it at 0.75 speed and said it was better. I’ll try and slow it down for the future ones.
@@JohnPaulMusicUK Thanks for that. It is obvious you have an amazing understanding of things. You are also a very good player and when I get a chance I want to hear some more of your videos on your channel. Thanks again and I will check out that slowing it down feature. Cheers
Clips… behavior
You say there are three ways
1. Globally
2. Individually
3. By color
You never show us how to do this?
Orange is 1 measure so all the other circles are all 1 measure.
I want to loop but not tie them together
I want orange to be one measure
Blue to be however many measures blue is … like it ends up being 4 but I don’t want to explicitly set this manually
colours is a problem for us colour blind people
You can always change them and the iPad has accessibility features which work on top of Loopy Pro. Things like colour filters. You can also name each loop in the editor too.
Hope that’s helps. 👍🏻
it's for apple fanboys only?
At the moment, yes. It’s being developed on iOS and then Mac. It’s LITERALLY one guy who has made this, not a huge company.. so hopefully he can make it onto android. 🤞🏻
it would be worth it. it's an amazing app. I'm just not willing to pay hundreds of Euros for the hardware. In that case a Boss 505 would be the wiser choice, I don't use smartphones much... @@JohnPaulMusicUK
This video needs to be reworked. Good content, bad delivery. Waste of time.
