I could tell the vocal chain before watching because this is pretty much industry standard Analog gear 1073>CL1B>C800G. more interesting would be the vocal chain inside the DAW.
Yeah, I'm seeing the pattern. They use several different microphones tho. Yeah, I'm talking to tons of my pro engineer friends and seeing if I can get some session files for you all with major artists. Thanks for commenting.
I have that sony mic. Are you telling me you already knew Justin was using that mic without seeing, hearing or reading about what is in his vocal chain?. Not all professional people are using 1073/CLB/800g but some are. How can you assume Justin was using it if you had no prior knowledge of him using it before hand?
I think you forgot another mic. Justin also uses a blue bottle mic. He records his vocals on the mic from his latest album "Believe" and his Christmas album under the mistletoe.
It's not about the vocal chain. It's about the overall sound of the song, the beat, the music, the harmonies combined with clean mixing and loud mastering
Well in order to get any of those things at good levels that are void of as much noise as possible, you need a system that can grab what you want and leave what you don't. The best vocalist in the world wont' sound like it if their voice is going through a poorly setup vocal chain
I got both the Sony and ELAM 251 in my studio along with a 1073>API 550a > 541 > MAAGEQ4 > Purple Audio Action FET (1176 500 series) into a Cl1b into my burl. All gold mogami cables. When clients do their own vocals at home I just give them the thousand yard stare
Doesn't matter if you have talent and you have good mics and a nicely treated room. I have simular equipment to you in a home environment and could compete with some recording studios. Talent is a big contributer and decent quality gear and a well treated room is all you need. These folks don't need to have what you and I have to make great vocal recordings at home. Most probably don't have a well treated room and now have to capture a great recording but its something they can achieve to get. Kids today making sounds in unconventional ways that are working. The playing field is evening out a little more if you have a little money to throw in the pot.
Hey Archie, you able to give me some advice on my vocal chain...I have an SM7B > Cloudlifter > DBX 286s (Processed bypassed) > KT-2A > EQP-KT > Rodecaster Pro....I am a VO artist/radio presenter so would be looking for some advice on how to get my chain perfect for what I do.
Nice chain man. Yeah, i definitely record the 1073. I actually just did a video on it a few days ago. Check it out and let me know your thoughts: th-cam.com/video/-Dz9gXSCFo0/w-d-xo.html
Use soothe 2 on your vocal for videos. Whatever it is, your voice (speaking) is poppin my ears off with plosives? Hard to say. Feels mid range artifacts? You’re not clipping but it’s a noticeable vibe. Just lookin out homie, great video as always!
Thank you all for watching. Be sure to check out DistroKid's new app - distrokid.com/vip/archiebeatz

Really great video thank you! One question: what is the positioning of these mics? Can you make a video about it?
