It's all part of the adventure my friend and sharing the experience. I genuinley believe that any one of us can do this with a little bit of encouragement 👍
Cracking video Daz now thats somthing i could do just have a drive up there. Then just take the scenery in some good scram and just chill out for couple of days keep the videos coming Daz and hope to see some gold prospecting videos when you can fit them in cheers 👍
Thanks Stephen, I have a load of gold panning videos to edit from this year's trips out to the river and I can't wait to start on them . This was a great camp I recommend it to anyone to give it a go.
Cheers Tazy T, it is a lovely spot and with the summer solstice not too far away, we get loads of day light at the moment. I have a couple of your vids to catch up on too. Take care pal.
Hello Aleisha, that is a good question. I look at it for quite a long time first and foremost as it is very alluring to the eye but other than that, nothing. I just love the great outdoors and gold panning is a great subject to film. It would be nice to think that my daughter could make a gold ring with it one day though.
Thanks for the video looks such a nice area not surprised you keep going back . Glad it’s not too windy as I’ve heard of folk camping up top tan hill 😆 🏕
Awesome stuff mate, nice chilled video. Just catching up on this one. Think I just missed you on this trip as I met up with Jase not long after you had left.
Hello Chevsy, I met Jaydog up there and had a few days with him and then left promptly because it tipped it down on the Sunday. I went back up to Tyndrum a few days later but missed you guys by a day or two. It's a great way to get out and about though with an overnight camp and a gold pan.😁, hopefully we will all meet up one day.
Great Video Daz. Good to see what its like camping out on Mennocks pass. I bet that was one of the best tasting whiskeys you've had. Hope all is well and you are feeling better since last time I spoke. I believe theres a few weeks of cracking weather coming up so hopefully you will be back out on the bike for it.
The Whisky was lovely James. I've had 7 weeks off the bike and just started to try a few local rides. It's my inner groin area that's the problem . Hopefully it will heal as the weeks pass by.
Hello Secret Gold Hunter, it tipped it down on what turned out to be my final day, the drive home was a bit wet all the way back too. It wouldn't have been fair on the dog to stay out in it. There's always the next time.....Cheers buddy
Great stuff mate, I see what you meant about a great spot . Cracking tent as well , a good bit more stealth than our old one lol Best tent we’ve ever had . Out in the van tonight overlooking Goodwood racecourse 🍷🍷 Hope all is well with you 👍
I have been told that this place can produce great gold but it needs floods to move it around , otherwise it gets hammered by everyone and there's nothing really left in the usual places .. We found specs on a wee burn on this trip but the scenery made up for it.
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures was a nice route 50/50 on off road 👌 weather was kind to us we went Fort William to Inverness stayed overnight then headed back the next day testing my new Gravel Bike out

150 is excellent Nige. I am currently 6 weeks off the bike and starting to put weight on ! I had a groin injury appear from no where and it's been a swine to shift. As for The NC 500, it is something else, it's a trip of a lifetime.
Tell me about it, I am so disappointed with what is going on in Wales. We tried the Clach on this trip and it was pants.....but the scenery made up for it . Hope you are well pal.
Hello Front Line, I have spent many years camping and caravaning in the great county but that was before I discovered the art of gold panning. It's a place I need to revisit at some point and have a prospect. I have heard that there is some lovely gold down there.
Hey let me know if you are down this way :-) I've done my research and have tried several rivers in Cornwall - but still struggling to find anything, thinking of metal detecting river beds.......can you recommend a good mid range metal detector?
It's very good. You can get a bit of condensation it you don't vent it with the zips because the outer is such a heavy material. Plenty of space and can be erected quite quickly although it is inner first.
Hi Daz great video as usual, and great to meet you up on the mennock, that's a lovely picker you have there was that from the mennock ? Looks like mother luck was on your side in the end lol.... It would be great to meet up again some day. Cheers daz
Hi Steve, thank you for your company , it was a pleasure to meet you. Me and Jason found a few specs the day after to add to the collection and the shots in this video are from some of my favourite trips out over recent times, they just emphasise the sense of adventure, take care buddy
Thanks Tim, he's a old man nowadays and it's great to be able to take him out still. There was a point where I thought he'd never get to do things like this, so long may it continue.
The permit will cover the Local area of the Mennock and Wanlock. If you want to pan in Leadhills that's another permit Jason www.leadminingmuseum.co.uk/product/gold-panning-licence-individual-year/ leadhillsestate.co.uk/leadhills-today/
@@MrDazP1adv3ntures Thanks for the quick reply. So the permit from the lead museum is for the wanlock area etc and the Leadhills estate permit is for the leadhills area if im correct? Have you been out panning recently?
Yes that's right Jason, the the Wanlockhead area is on the Buccleuch estate and the Elvan water is on the Leadhills estate so that's two separate permits if you go there. I have been getting out to some great locations with the gold pan and have quite a few videos to edit. I am hoping to start putting them together in the autumn. The great thing at the moment is that there are loads of other British TH-cam channels coming through now all finding some lovely shiny for us to watch and enjoy.
I totally agree with you Bill, On this occasion I found this pitch a bit further up the glen because it was away from some selfish campers who were playing music way too loud all night. We all want some peace and quiet if we are out on a wild camp.

Iv just got back from a couple of nights around Ambleside and the weather was lovely
Hoping to get into the dales soon
Appletreewick James, anywhere over that way and towards Burnsall is lovely , to be honest, they are all fab.
