You missed a trick by not demonstrating the Floyd in the opening tune. I didn't even notice it had one while you were playing until you mentioned it afterwards.
For reals. Ever seen that Simpsons episode where Bart cranks his wrist around and says "my wrist are like cement mixers from writing on the chalkboard a thousand times"? That's James.
I used alternate picking over down picking once while jamming Master of Puppets. My mother disowned me and my girlfriend left me (she even took our dog). I couldn't focus after that and eventually lost my job and house.
Hi ola. I was the guitar maker that curved fret headless 8 string with thr buckeye top 22:36 .such a bummer i wasnt able to meet you in person, but seeing something i built in your channel just makes my day all the better.thank you for the time and appreciating it
When I lived in Athens Ga. Mastadon played in a garage and I got to watch them play sitting on a couch less than ten feet from the band. There were maybe 6 people there.
I also enjoyed the Guitar Summit in Mannheim. So many good guitar gear, so many guitars that I tryed out for the first time. I would like to see Solar Guitars at the Guitar Summit next year. 😉🤘
Zakk was used to bring his monster dog on stage around 2000. Love that dog, Anselmo had a challenging time keeping his leash while Zakk was greeting with Dimebag on PanterA’s stage at Ozzfest
Hetfield plays very different live nowadays because he's the singer, too and does a lot of gestures / body language to underline the lyrics. He really transformed over the years. So nothing wrong about not playing exactly live as it was recorded in the Studio, especially when you take his strong vocal performance into account *while* he plays his guitar at the same time.
Hi there Ola, man I gotta say I very much enjoy your videos. 👍Sunday morning isn't the same without you on my flat screen. Love the dog cameo. Your personality is perfect for this kind of media. From Pro to fan ,you are. Please keep up the great work 🤘you keep metal alive. CHEERS 🍻 🤘
I watched that interview and was like oh s#!+ zakk just gave ola a shout out and props.. was wondering if you seen that. Was pretty sure you had to have caught that. Pretty awesome. Also you should include playing with your dog more in your vids lol😂
Was at Guitar summit this year. Was there quite spontaneously, since a gig we should have had on Saturday got cancelled on Friday afternoon. It’s an amazing show, love to be there. It’s small enough to get thorough everything in like two days. It’s great but not overwhelming.
Years ago a friend of mine Rich covered Puppets and started alternating the whole intro. I was blown away by how it sounded down picked but also how cool it was to alternate that 2nd chromatic riff which was something I couldn't do at the time
awesome Ola ...thanks for showing us the event. That Ibanez with the blue water resin and wood looking like one of those contemporary coffee tables like a small river was so awesome.
I once alternate-picked Master of Puppets. James Hetfield's fist burst through my amp speaker and choked me out for the entire solo section. Lesson learned.
This summer in Hamilton, Ontario I noticed John Petrucci replace the 16th note downpicking in Pull Me Under with two 16th notes, following by an 8th note. So instead of t-t-t-t t-t-t-t t-t-t-t t-t-t-t, he played t-t-teh t-t-teh t-t-teh t-t-teh. Sounded great both ways! It was nice to hear some new flavour slipped into a great classic.
Man I love dogs!! I wouldn’t take my dog to a show but my buddy had an old boxer named Max. That old boy laid right in front of my bass drum EVERY time we jammed. R.I.P. Max!!
I think it's awesome Zakk is giving credit to the players that helped him learn these parts. I wouldn't look forward to doing a show like the Pantera one with all the eyes on him.
Had a herniated lumbar disc situation that started last year. Stuck on the floor with crippling sciatica for a few months. No stretches or exercises made even a lick of difference. Only thing that helped a little was oxycodone and later an injection. Shit sucks. Hope your recovery is going well.
The guitar summit reminds me of the Dallas International Guitar Festival. Went there in 2019, there were a couple bigger brands there but a lot of local shops plus some really nice boutique brands. They had some known artists play there and you could sell and trade your own gear as well.
Yo! Nice axes at that show man! Some really cool stuff... and mentioning notes; Rabea has done a video about dialling in tones...and is pointing to the Swede for reference...🤘👽
Hi Ola, love all your stuff. Can you do a video, or you may already have one, about what you plug your guuitar into(audio Inteerface, what type of computer, and what you record on (Acid, sound forge) . Also what drum program you use...I think you mentioned superior drummer or something. I'm building my recording studio and need a starting point. Very inspired jut by your opening riff jam at the beginning of these videos
Thanks for acknowledging Dime and Vinnies absence. I personally find it completely sacrilegious to be playing Dimes music without him considering the bands history.

Which guitar belt do you use at the beginning of the video?

@@77stimpythe new (whatever the Swedish for "black" is) series with a Floyd Rose.
@@eamonahern7495i think he meant the guitar strap
@@77stimpythe guitar strap? That should be the one he always uses, just search google for "Ola Englund guitar strap" and you should be able to find it
After downpicking like a hydraulic press for like four decades, he’s earned every wrist saving upstroke
At his peak, his right hand ability was untouched. A freak!
Gary Holt was jealous of his Seattle 89 downpicking peak
For sure. It’s a wonder he doesn’t have carpal tunnel
@@paullalremruat14603and holt is no joke himself

You are lucky....
Bro, you gotta hit up John Petrucci! He's been alternate picking MOP for decades! There might be an opening for you there!
What did you expect
Sounds like you're about to write a country song.

@@jakebriscoe thank you
Freaking awesome guitar!!!

That guitar summit show looked amazing, so many interesting instruments! Looking forwards to the extended Vlog
The smile you got when Zack mentioned you is priceless. ❤
I'm late to the SWOL this week. Awesome episode & VLOG! I also have been listening to the new dying fetus album, its amazing! Hello CJ! 23:20 🤘🤘
That intro; chocked full of chuggy goodness and it’s good for you!
I also enjoyed the Guitar Summit in Mannheim. So many good guitar gear, so many guitars that I tryed out for the first time. I would like to see Solar Guitars at the Guitar Summit next year. 😉🤘
Great episode!! Loved the coverage of guitar summit!!
"Oh HELLO!" was such a german thing. Hahah beautiful 😂. You startled ma man! 25:01
We care about you brotha! You are the one of us (Dimebag fan, 90’s kid, Zelda king, etc.) that made it. 😂 wishing you your best life

Curved frets are fantastic 🎸

Never a dull moment. 👍🔔
Ola, live with it. you are a super star
I saw melvins, phlyzzz, and boris last night in New orleans at tippitinas
Ola man I just wanna say I love you and your videos and thanks for being such a inspiration and one of the people who make me pickup my guitar

The new Dying Fetus album is a brutal riff smorgasbord. So good!
man! I love that intro jam. this is one of your best.. keep 'em rocking!
At 23:10 I see my boss sitting next to Patrick Eggle 🤣🤣🤣👌
i loved it! the vlog was great. such a shame we didnt film a section of us hanging out for it haha !
Hope you will be showing us a Jamie vlog from there on your channel. Looked like it had some amazing stuff
Haha, that Japanese guitarist is MiA from Mejibray! I used to listen to them a lot in high school, they're pretty cool. You should check them out!
I cant imagine what it feels like to get a shout from Zak Wylde.....who btw, learned to play guitar where I am sitting right now....Bricktown, NJ
Banger opener Ola! Ugghhh!!
Hej Ola. Yhank you for the awesome show and for the footages from the guitar exhibition. Cheers
Awesome show again🤘
That guitar show looks amazing, lots of awesome looking stuff!

SICK RIFF
How happy you got when zakk mentioned you is how I felt when you made a video on some tones for the boss katana appreciate you man 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Well done, brother. Zakk mentioning you is awesome.
Yaaa finally the dying fetus shoutout! I still remember the first time I saw them and the bassist was sweeping along with the guitarist. So epic
Except you cant hear that bassist lmao. Both on studio recordings and live bass is absolutely drowned and barely can be heard.
Yes! Hapas. I was wondering about them being there.
That's one thick and heavy opening riff Ola! Cheers!
Thank god for that little feller Ola that saved almighty Zakk and his ZIP code.
Your mix is soooo good. Sooo heavy. And the peice played was as well.

5:30 any metal guitarist knows this feeling. OMG this had me dying! Truth
Good to hear you are taking care of yourself. I’m fighting off a pinched nerve for the last three months and it sucks. Stay strong and stay metal 🤘🤘
I love that everywhere you go, everyone knows and loves you.
So fucking cool man \m/
the intro was like a weird Suicide Silence song but Ola style, Well done.
I went to high school with BillyK. Great dude!!
You're awesome Ola. I hope you are doing well 🤘🆒

No.

Nice intro,awesome
Wait if it’s Sunday 156 then means it’s 3 years exactly of SWOLA! (52x3)
hahaha damn those riffs were sick, very jeffloomis/conqueringdystopia esque
Nolly, maan, he can make the bass guitar sound divine!!!
What a shout out 🤘

MetallicA rocks baby😄
Hands down no one makes a better amp than Fender. Yes even for metal. Can’t wait to try this out.

Yo! Nice axes at that show man! Some really cool stuff... and mentioning notes; Rabea has done a video about dialling in tones...and is pointing to the Swede for reference...🤘👽

That might be the best SWOLA intro riff ever.
Great intro graphic
It's as if all the actual cool stuff from NAMM was put into one place. Damn that looked awesome.
Go slaybag keep on rocking in the free world 😅
I understand if not because of the length, but could we get an ola learns "keeper of the seven keys" or "the ultra violence" pleeeease
Where is the Guitar you had Built? I want to Hear it. The Tour was Great. From New Mexico, usa. Thanks always Ola.
Ola, you missed new Stam1na album released on friday! It's their 10th album and celebration od their carreer. Greetings from Finland!
This intro is better than sooo many legendary bands.
Agreed.
Hi there
I l be curious about Donner Guitars
Awesome 🔥
