Kirk and Dime got me into playing guitar and metal music. A friend brought a Metallica and Pantera CD over when I was a kid. As soon as I heard that, my life was changed forever. I saved up and got a guitar and amp from a pawn shop. 19 years later I'm still at it. 🤘

I was born too late to witness the original lineup of Pantera, and I know it’ll never be the same, but when I saw them at Sweden Rock this year they blew my face off. I had high expectations, and they completely demolished them by being even better than what I imagined!!

I've been a die hard Pantera fan since a kid. Was 15 when Dimebag died so didn't have a chance to see them back then. I went to see them a week and so ago at RockFest Finland and can't say that i have the same reaction as you. It was good, but the energy is missing and frikkin Zakk Wylde's guitars is ruining it for me. I hoped that he'd stepped up the game for now since they've had more gigs, but the playing, especially the solos simply suck. I get that he was a good friend of Dime and because of that, he's a natural choice, but somebody that know the songs by heart would have served fans (or at least me) better. Oh well🤷‍♂ It was cool to see Phil and Rex live and the drummer was decent.

I saw them as a teen in 96 with White Zombie, and 97 on Ozzfest.
It was killer. Loved Pantera. They were road dog's, always out touring so that kids in nowhere America could see a metal show.
I was at a gas station filling up in 01, my former "concert partner" pulled up next to me,
"Dude! I went to see Pantera ( without you) last night and they finally played FLOODS!"
Awesome bro. Glad I couldnt afford to go. At least he remembered we always wanted to see FLOODS.
      Lol. I'm not bitter.
Didnt know how important it was to catch the show at that time, like Ola said we have no idea how long we are going to be here and when our time is up.
I'm psyched for all the young fans that get to go out and see this legendary show, I'm glad these friends are giving love and honor to the brothers.
Pantera is coming to a venue about 45 minutes from my home in September, I looked it up, tickets in the way back start at 100$.
      Cant go at that price.
      Oh well.

@@sledgehammer1570 im glad more people are finally waking up to reality, I got hit on for so long knowing this was the outcome from day 1. ANYONE would be better. He lied about playing exactly like Dime, and so did Phil and Rex.

    • @jbm0866
      @jbm0866 ปีที่แล้ว

@@nwerd7584 Who lied about playing exactly like Dime? Zakk has never said he was going to be note for note perfectly channeling Dime...just the opposite in fact. He may use some of Dimes old gear, but he uses his own guitar making it impossible to sound exactly the same.

I met Vinnie Paul in the early 90s at a show in late 1992 in San Antonio off Perrin-Beitel Road. He was so laid back, relaxed, and casual that it almost impossible to believe that he was the same beast on drums for Pantera. I remember asking him why he's the only guy in the band not inked, and he said "no one's touching this skin."

Yeah I got the see them about a month ago at welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach Florida they of course were a headlining act they went on right after Alice Cooper so we got to see the night show but we also had a little different stage setup where they actually had the Pantera sign up on stage and it would be on fire and whatever else but it was very surreal as well and a lot of us old guys it didn't take us very long I was saved by the third song which was strength beyond strength before we realized you just have to start pushing back on people when they start pushing towards you because the mosh pit just kept getting bigger we had people crowd surfing like library 30-second somebody was going over our head it was one hell of a show especially since we got the nighttime show which started at like 10:00 at night . And then a lot of people were still hyped up because everybody when they left the festival on day three went over to Bucky's or some other band over there I think it was silly goose actually doing some kind of show in the parking lot... But yeah when I got back home because I'm maybe about an hour away from Daytona so I didn't have to worry about a hotel or campgroundI was kind of going to day for the festival with no sleep because I was so hyped up that I could not sleep and then of course it just made me want to go get on some of the guitars that I have and jam.... Well I was also excited too because just before Pantera we had Alice Cooper on the same stage . Considering I saw happened to catch a guitar pick from a little Blondie on stage earlier that day I did get an autograph picture and at the AMS tent I actually ended up buying an Ibanez Jiva blonde and black.... And to answer your question yes it will chug it's an amazing instrument Ibanez designed for Nita

While you did take a brief look at Manson, you happened to look at their meta series, these are more in line with your average budget guitar just featuring kill switches and some other stuff, but definitely take a look at there main lines, they got some really cool guitars with pedals built in, such as a Fuzz Factory. Definitely a cool brand to check out, especially for any Muse fans!
