Thanks Wendy and Ian, really helpful tips.
Love that idea of scheduling in worry time. The way it acknowledges the worry, but means we are more in control of it than it of us.
That first question: 'can I do something about this or do I just need to keep a log' was also really helpful before we spiral on things we can't solve.
I've recently returned to doing mindfulness. Finding it really helpful to create a Meta awareness of thoughts that can be unwanted, and identify less with them.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment, Simon! We’re thrilled to hear that you found the tips in the video helpful. The idea of scheduling “worry time” is indeed a powerful tool-it acknowledges our concerns without letting them dominate our day, helping to shift the balance of control back in our favour. That distinction between problems we can take action on versus those we just need to log and let go of is one of the simplest yet most effective strategies for preventing unproductive spirals.
It’s wonderful to hear that you’ve returned to mindfulness practice-building that Meta-awareness is such a transformative skill! It can really change our relationship with unwanted thoughts, allowing us to observe them without being swept up by them. If you’re finding it beneficial, you might also enjoy techniques like noting or labelling thoughts (e.g., “worrying” or “judging”) to further strengthen that detachment.
We’d love to hear more about how your mindfulness journey evolves, and if you have any other strategies that work well for you! Thanks again for engaging with our content-we appreciate your feedback and are so glad it’s making a difference!
