    lol once I saw no eggs, and left the container standing out... it was like 15C in the house... couple of days later I walk by and notice it is full of fry.

    Awesome video, once again! Coming back to the cardinal spawning, I now have 11 baby cardinals that are 2 months old. I initially had 12, one of which faded but I'm super happy with the result. Do rummy nose tetras next!!

    Currently watching, really enjoying. Just got tetras a week ago and some started chasing. Still trying to figure out if its mating or stress. Water parameters are spot on. You've been very thorough and I'm glad to say I'm now a subscriber.

    Great video. im a big avacodo of using the microscope to see whats really going. I liked seeing the flow of nutrients from the egg sack into the fry's body (16:28).
    Also, you admitted you have weak lifting power. #MeToo! I've subscribed. Us weakies need to stick together!
    Given me the confidence to try breeding these now, thank you!

    Herbert Axelrod used Oak wood shavings to make the water soft
    ( resin in the shavings is necessary for the ion exchange process,) and reduce the pH.
    He Bred angelfish, neons etc etc. using this method.

    Thank you! Love your video and you almost relaxed me to sleep with your zin voice. Your aura is lovely! Currently setting us an Amazon black water tank to raise Neon Tetras. Leeching tannins from beautiful pieces of driftwood from my garden. Collecting Amazon plants, waiting on sand. Neons I’m in a month. I play with baby brines anyways. How about egg yolk dissolved in water to feed the fry. I’ve had a seahorse nursery so this should be gravy! Wish me luck 🍀

      Certain Sands has the potential to raise GH, I thanks so much for your support! I would keep it bare bottom for the breeding tank. If you are using it in a normal aquarium and not to breed neons, sand is okay. Yolk can foul the water quickly so I use infusoria and baby brine(live) later

    Daphneas should be fine for food if you can get green water. If you have enough nutrients for plant roots they should be able to out compete the green water.

    That was a great video. I'm very new to fish keeping. 3 weeks ago I started a 55 gal dirted tank with plants. 5 days ago I put in 6 neon tetras. My ? is is there a chance they will breed on their own in the tank if I make it a black water tank? I probably will add another 6 tetras next Saturday.

      If enough cover and the water is soft enough yes but usually it will slowly turn harder because of minerals that are added.

    • @AvatarAquatics
      @AvatarAquatics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      depends, if you have been conditioning them well, keep up the feeding schedule for another 1-2 weeks and try with peat moss. You can also try some indian almond leaves or other leaf rich in tannins, which will lower the pH within a few days. Both will work.

    Do you acclimate the fish when when putting them in the breeding tank then returning them to the main tank? also do you need an airstone or sponge filter in the breeder?

    • @AvatarAquatics
      @AvatarAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No need for acclimation if they are healthy, if you are worried it won’t do any harm to acclimatize them. And sponge filter is only needed for long term they will only be in there for 1-2 days. Just keep the water clean and free of poop

  • @AleRovella

    hi buddy, what about the temperature of the water in that tupperware? how do you move the adults from aquarium to the tupperware? you adapt them or you move them directly? the difference of ph is not an issue? thanks from argentina!

    • @AvatarAquatics
      @AvatarAquatics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Temperature is around 78F, since my adults were in similar water parameters during conditioning I don’t acclimate, but you can if you want to since some people feel more comfortable.

    The only way to catch more rain water is to steal your neighbor's rain water. As the saying goes it's always greener on the other side of the fence. Run around with a bucket on your head in your neighbor's yard.
