  • Here are the details of my full journey from first getting an indirect inguinal hernia, deciding not to get surgery, coming up with a plan, learning through trial and error, and eventually healing the hernia completely. I hope this video can show people that it is possible to heal hernias without surgery if you're willing to commit to lifestyle changes. This video is not medical advice, and I am not a medical professional. Just sharing my experience.

    I had a moderate inguinal hernia 10 years ago and was scheduled to have surgery, however, there was a 3-month waiting period at the time. I had been in severe pain for quite a while but as I was waiting for my surgery things started to feel better and the pain went away. Against the advice of my doctor I canceled the surgery and have been perfectly fine ever since. I lift weights religiously and I'm very physically active and after this amount of time I can only come to the conclusion that it has healed itself. Not the first time I've experienced something like this. I ripped the pectoral muscle off the bone bench pressing, I actually heard it pop. It sounded just like popcorn popping It was loud. I was also told this would require surgery but I wanted to give it a chance to heal on its own. After a month of severe constant pain it too got better and I've never had any issues with it since. I'm glad I trusted my gut instinct on these things rather than being cut into for no reason. I advocate trusting your doctor's advice but they're not always right.

    Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with a medium sized reducible indirect inguinal hernia on the right side, around 3 months ago. The doctor suggested surgery but I was pretty sure that slapping a patch over the weak tissue can't prevent it from reoccurring. I'd have to incorporate changes in my lifestyle and when I was trying to find out what changes shall I inculcate in my daily routine, that's when I came across the channel of Tom. His videos on diet, fasting and yoga routine (especially the stomach vacuums, side planks and dog pose) were the ones I've been following religiously and have consciously avoided overeating and picking any sort of heavy weights abruptly. I'd like to thank Tom for this amazing channel. My hernia's protrusion and timespan for which it comes out has reduced by more than 95% in a span of less than 75 days. I am bullish that the body can heal on its own provided we give it the conducive circumstances. Ensuring a clean diet has improved my gut health too and I feel better now. A big thanks to Tom, again.       Really enjoyed reading this post. Do you resistance train, if yes, how frequently? Do you intermittently fast? If yes, when is your feeding window? I have an inguinal hernia as well. I'm carnivore. With a 17/7 fasting protocol. My lower intestines have been less bloated following a 3x a day feeding strategy. As a opposed to 2 larger meals.
      I have been consistently working my core with vacuums and some other things. Consistently training mostly bodyweight with some weights, 5 days a week.
      I would appreciate hearing about your overall approach to diet & training principles.
      Ps; I've also begun to wear a truss in hopes of keeping in the hernia while being active.
      Mixed results to this point. 2 months into this issue!

      How big was your hernia? Mine is 1cm direct inguinal hernia within a fat tissue of 18x25 mm. What all diet changes you did?

    Hi Tom and good people. I am 71 and have just had my surgery. Been very active throughout my life and suddenly this hernia pops up. Also very light weight so probably pushed myself here and there. Did some research but like you could not find much. Should have taken more time. Also needed a total knee replacement so decided to have them both done 3 weeks apart. I have had no pain before or after but so very aware of this foreign body inside me. So my age has finally convinced me to take it easy and enjoy longish walks and easy exercise. We know most don’t have recurrences as long as we take it easy. You young folk are having it tougher in keeping it at bay due to your high energy levels. Your story is very inspirational and I truly hope you have the answer Tom. Wishing you and everyone a long and happy life and love.

    Great video, Tom. Very inspiring. I was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia last just last night. Depressing for a 49 year old who's always looked after himself.     Hi Tom, thanks so much for your very personal and courageous journey. I've had an inguinal hernia for at least 8 years and have been managing it with hernia support garments. The support garments are now irritating me as it's basically a tourniquet on my hips. Your journey is exactly what I need as inspiration to raise my game in a lot of areas in my life. Cheers, Paul

    I’m so glad I discovered this. I realized I have an inguinal hernia about 5 days ago. I work at a grocery store stocking shelves and lifting heavy boxes all day. I’ve been keeping the hernia in with two ace bandages, but I just ordered a hernia truss from Amazon. I had a feeling that good diet and the right exercise could possibly help me avoid having to get surgery. It’s not very big when it pops out but I don’t let it get far enough to tell to be honest. I’ve kept it wrapped up or held in every second since I discovered it. Your video definitely gives me hope that I can manage this and maybe even heal it. I appreciate you.

    Very good content.
    At 65, 2 years ago, I felt a ball in my groin.
    I did not know what an inguinal hernia was. First I was afraid it was a tumor.
    I got on the internet and found out that between 25% and 33% of men had this.
    I will follow your advises and I am sure they will be useful.

      Better a hernia than a tumor. Yes, it is crazy how common these hernias are in men and yet they offer no solution other than surgery. I wish you the best of luck!

      @@tommaher1841 I’m 92. An inguinal hernia was diagnosed three months ago. A truss was suggested as an operation at my age was not recommended. In brief, I used the truss for a couple of weeks, but found it uncomfortable and troublesome. Now, I do nothing for the hernia. Mostly it remains quiescent, with occasional episodes of discomfort and pain. Of course, as all of us know, it can lead to major problems, restricted blood supply, gangrene, strangulation, etc. If it can be reduced or cured by methods suggested here, it would be wonderful. But about seven doctors have warned that exercise, yoga, muscle-building routines, etc., can exacerbate the problem. Care should be taken, especially by us oldies

    Hello all, i had two Inguinal Hernias(Left and right) this year, started to notice the right one in April and during private checkup realised I had a second on the left, went private in August and had surgery. The sooner you get surgery the better, i didnt feel a thing and was out of hospital the same day and was back at the gym after 6 weeks starting light. Yes it costs money but you need to think about quality of life.

    Tom-- Huge thanks for sharing the efforts of your research and experience, as well as the encouragement. I'm on my second inguinal hernia, the first one having been repaired using the surgical mesh. Its fine, but the surgery cost me a fortune! I'm giving it a go with a natural solution for this second one. One thing I have found very helpful is the use of a belt from an outfit called Hernia -Truss. Its pretty minimal, comfortable, and pretty supportive. Regards, -R.

    Thanks so much, brother. This gives hope. I'm older (60) now, but I am reluctant to go through the operation. I had on on the right side when I was 18 and had surgery.
    Now I have one on the left and today was the worst. The blow up remindeld me of how a frog makes their sound and to me that was a very spioky feeling. It took quite a while to get it back in. Have not tried diet changes or much else. Just a padded belt.
    I will definately be looking at these excersizes and diet.
    I appreciate your going through all this. It is very helpful.

    Great video. Well done Tom. I also have an inguinal hernia, mines on the left side. Got it to go in for about 2 weeks then i got the flu and of course all the coughing was just too much for the hernia and out it plopped. So I start again.

But I will give it my shot before going in for surgery. And there too, I understand there are different mesh types available; with the tissue form of mesh being the preferred choice since it can dissolve after serving its purpose..

    I am 64 and had my first Inguinal Hernia surgically repaired about 10 years ago. The surgery was very successful and has held up well. I recently aggravated a second hernia on the opposite side and have been working on trying to get it under control for the last 2 weeks. This particular Inguinal Hernia has been there for several years, but it never bothered me until recently when I overworked myself clearing out a barn. My current plan seems to be working after several days of very little activity I started slowly building up my exercise regime to what I was used to doing (walking, jogging, biking, stretching). I left out weight training for now. When I get a bit of pain I stop and apply a reusable ice bag for 5-10 min. This has allowed me to increase my activity consistently. Time will tell where this ends up - if it doesn't work I will do the surgery again.

      I know this was a while since your post, but jogging with a hernia is a big no no. Anything that is jarring to body, will increase outward pressure on an inguinal hernia.

    Thanks Tom. Your video is so inspiring and informative. I'm down for hernia mesh repair surgery on 20th October but am having misgivings when I learn from You Tube videos about possible complications arising from mesh insertion, complications which may occur years down the line. I think my hernias ( I have two inguinal hernias) are caused by eating too much too late in the evenings shortly before I retire. I'm seriously considering following your diet regime and doing these exercises as a natural holistic alternative to surgery. Thank you again for your inspiration.😄

      You might be interested in the work of the Shouldice Hernia clinic in Toronto that specialises in hernia repair that does not involve the use of mesh which can be problematic. I got my hernia done there to good success. They invented this unique technique many decades ago.

      I hope you can see some results before your scheduled surgery! The complications of surgery are always worth considering, if there is a way to avoid it then I believe it is worth giving it a try.

    Hey, I'm 24 years old and got "diagnosed" I guess, with a hernia, I had the bulge for so long thinking it would go away on its own. Honestly being this young and realising I had to now live with this thing scares the crap out of me since I definitely don't wanna do the surgery for the same reasons u wouldn't.
    This video and journey of yours has given me light at the end of the tunnel and maybe I can still turn this around or at least make it less uncomfortable. My doctor pretty much had no advice for me other than don't lift, drink water and don't make it worse lol.
    So thank u for sharing your experiences and I will do my best to follow your advice.

    Thanks for the update! I suffered a minor Inguinal hernia a couple of weeks ago after running up a mountain 18 days in a row. Im pretty disappointed as I was just getting back into intense exercise and it was really improving my mental health. I'm definitely going to try some of these strategies yo laid out here:)

    A brilliant video, thank you for posting this. I found the diet part particularly fascinating. I teach Pilates to clients often with Diastasis Recti and this is relevant to hernia as well. The principles and contraindications are the same. I have done courses on how to write an exercise programme for this but Diet wasn't mentioned. I have lots of exercises that I know work and I know what will exacerbate it so the double leg lowers is always contraindicated, you are right. I have huge respect for your discipline and ability to find the answers through trial and error. Your background in fitness and exercise has clearly equipped you well. I have a client starting next week with a hernia and your story will be helpful to bear in mind. As you rightly say everyone is different but congratulations on doing such great work. Avoiding surgery is always the goal if possible. Best of luck and stay well.

      @@tommaher1841 no for Diastasis Recti but this can lead to a hernia if not trained carefully. It is common in post-natal women and some men. There will be similar guidelines for this and more research to look at. You might find this interesting to compare with your findings.

    Hello Tom, I want to thank you for this honest appraisal of your hernia journey. I am scheduled for surgery this coming Tuesday. To be frank I'm terrified. This is the surgeons letter "We discussed the process of surgical repair as well as the use of mesh. I explained some of the potential complications associated with the surgery including risks of recurrence, damage to underlying structures including bowel & viscera as well as the requirement for a stoma. I also counselled the patient with regards to the small but important risk of death. We also discussed the potential use of tissue advancement techniques (component separation), pre-operative Botox use and the potential benefit and impact of this."... Watching your video is inspiration. I intend to cancel the surgery tomorrow. Watching the videos on post operative and mesh issues has convinced me to try and fix my own hernia.     Dude... awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience! I have had one for about 22 years.. diet definitely affects it... Gonna try applying some of your techniques. After you healed it, when you ate red meat, and had problems again.. was it normal or grass fed?

    Thankyou so much you have no idea how much you have helped me understand what is happening to me recently I thought i was loosing my mind when I've asked doctors about this theyve talked me down even ridiculed me it's hard to take when you're in excruciating pain I've worked with broken bones even open wounds but this has stopped me in my tracks with tears the pain was so intense I thought i was getting soft in my old age....lol ... it can wear you down but I'm going to give it a shot without surgery .... thanks again

    well, noticed the bump in March 2021 after jumping down from a flatbed trailer. For some reason it did not occur to me to look for self recovery also did not get a official diagnostic till last January. Doc told me not to worry it's not too big, but also said there is no cure. So, although I did not look into try recovering, I had an intuition for the longest time that this could be possible, grow the muscles around it, and it would help minimize, and also changed my diet, eating healthier and less.. So, I searched and found some channels with sets of exercises including this one, and built a set for me. So far no good, but it feels firmer down there. I have a 3 months target but will do a second ultrasound next week. I am positive that exercising will work!!! Peace and light to all!

    Being born with two inguinal hernias, I unfortunately have had then both come back multiple times, with the right one being repaired three times now and the left just once as baby, along with right side, but it's back and very small on left now, like a few millimeters, the surgeon said it was too small to fix the left, but my right operation I had just seven months ago didn't hold up with a mesh implant, plus I have a new umbilical hernia, so I have three hernia total now, even after surgery, all just a few millimeters or at most 16 millimeters for the Umbilical one. So I've had six hernias now and four operations in my life and I'm done with surgeries, so I'm very glad I found your channel, as I also watched some from the other guys you mentioned and I found that while being in physical therapy postop and doing stomach vacuums for first time last week, that I'm finally getting some relief from the constant aching and pinching feelings! I'm going to keep staying active and healing my digestive tract as well, as I have been intermittent fasting, eating smaller meals and trying to reduce my diary and meat intake without lacking nutrition. I had cut out pork and beef for almost a year, but I started eating a little bit here and there for the nutrients I was fearing I wasn't getting, but I might go back to more of a Mediterranean diet with only fish and chicken as my meat sources, besides some beef liver supplements I might buy to help, as I found I have fatty liver too now in recent CT, so I need to detox the liver. I have a long healing journey ahead, but this video really helps me feel better about the potential to reduce hernia symptoms, while mitigating pain and prolonging if not ruling out the need for future operations in many cases. I see my surgeon this week for his opinion, but he told me he can't remove or fix his own mesh implants once they're in before he put the mesh in, LOL, so now I already have a 3.5 millimeter hernia reoccurrence there and I'm so frustrated, as it's been a horrible seven months of pain healing form a surgery that I think I tore five month after the operation, riding on my bike on flat roads, but I had no pain on the bike, just did the day or hours after. It really sucks... Anyway, thanks for this amazingly helpful and positive info! I'm getting back into yoga now too and some special leg exercises from my hernia cure channel. I will try the yoga routines you do now too! Peace and Bliss be with us always!!

      Wow, it sounds like you've had quite the journey with hernias! I can't believe that they can occur so easily and suddenly after having the mesh put in, it almost seems pointless to have more surgeries at this point. I hope you are able to find some natural relief through rehab exercises and some of the general diet/lifestyle changes that you mentioned. Best of luck to you!

    I am supposed to see the surgeon on friday. I have a inguinal and an umbilical hernia. I get your meaning on the blown up ball feeling like it was gonna pop.
    I will be doing what I can to see if this will begin to help. It's a drag to go through this. I know diet has to be key.

    Had a hernia repair operation with mesh back in 2003 and never looked back since. Excellent surgeon operated on me and I believe that is the key to a successful outcome.

    Hey Tom, your story definitely gives me hope. You mentioned you don't know whether the tear was healed or not. Have you tried palpating the area in different positions and comparing it to the other (healthy) side?
    When standing I can clearly feel there's a tear there (hollow slit under the skin 8-12mm wide, depends on the activity), but if I lay on my back with the knees on my chest - I can feel how the tear is closing up completely. Just an observation I wanted to share and know your opinion.
    P.s. it's been 6 years for me, there is a little bulge, but my intestines never fell out.

    Hey man, I'm SOOO glad I researched before I looked to surgery this video has helped. For about a year, I had this bulge on the lower left of my buttocks, thought I had cancer and was a tumor, almost certain now it's an inguinal hernia. Right where my thigh and hip meets (hip flexor) on my left leg it hurts. Can't squat and it's frustrating. Have you had hip pain like this just lifting the leg? Thank you so much for this, I'm giving all of this a try. Seriously so happy right now to find a possible way that works

      Hello, are you saying the bulge is on the back of your legs? I think the front side by the pelvis is most usual, but perhaps it could happen on the posterior side of the body as well. Never heard of a hernia there before though. Although your hip flexor is on the front of your leg. Either way, I am glad that the video has given you hope and I hope for your recovery!

    Great video Tom! I recently found out that I do not have an inguinal hernia but I have a hematoma in my groin. I have these symptoms of hernia but no bulge. Just a sharp yet dull shooting pain! If I do a pelvic tilt I can feel the pain, if I rotate my torso I would also feel it too unfortunately. I haven’t been active but I have been trying to heal it myself but nothing is happening but this video gives me hope.

    Hi Tom, I just wanted to thank you for this and all the related videos you uploaded.
    I've been into martial arts since childhood followed by a regular gym routine.
    I was diagnosed with a 3rd grade inguinal hernia (very painful & bulgy) and landed to this channel after some time.
    I started following your exercise routine and Baba Ramdev's videos and let me tell you it worked very well.
    I was able to reduce the pain to 95% in two months, reduced the bulge by 60%.
    I was also on a very strict intermittent diet with less food intake (lost 16 kgs in 5 months, 74 to 58).
    I'm sure if anyone has a grade 1 or 2 inguinal hernia and follows your videos, will be able to get rid of this fault in the system.
    BUT unfortunately I was stuck at that point and couldn't keep it completely in. This is where the grade 3 had won. I went for a laproscopic surgery because the doors were closed.
    It's been twenty days and I feel much better and hoping for the same in future.
    But I strongly believe that this can be healed naturally if it's a grade 1 or 2 stage.
    I'm writing this just to let you and everyone know that you motivated and guided me right. A big thanks to you. This is going to help many like us. Take care :)

      @@Gauravkumar-jm4ve Hi Gaurav, it is possible in the first grade. Just spare out an hour for yoga everyday & follow a healthy diet. Eating less and in breaks will help you in reducing the pain.
      You'll be surprised if you do it consistently.
      Give it 4-5 months maximum & if it works then keep doing the yoga for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
      If you are writing here, that means you are suffering and spending hours on TH-cam & Google to find a non surgical way to treat it - I can relate to that and understand your pain completely.
      I pray that you don't need to get the surgery done after 2 months but if you do then note down that go for a laproscopic one. Here's what I want to tell you :
      It's less painful & you recover quickly. There's no pain before and at the surgery time as you are on a complete anesthesia. Once you wake up, it's just a little soreness and you are on good painkillers. Walking will be slow for the first week but it'll all be getting better day by day. Post surgery, there's only one visit needed to the doctor & you are done.
      I'm completely satisfied with my doctor. He's patient, polite,, knowledgeable and explains everything in detail. I would highly recommend if you are from or can visit Jaipur, India. But I hope you never need it. Good luck brother. I pray you get well naturally.

    ya man good stuff. In 2021 i started experiencing indications of left inguinal hernia shortly after i cut out as much sugar and grains as possible and dropped about 35 lbs of fat; but i didnt realize what was happening because at the same time; i realized , i was experiencing sibo, small intestinal bacteria overgrowth due to diminishing stomach acid; which can allow fermentation to occur and bloating in the small intestine. The perfect storm !

    Hi everyone. I was due for an inguinal hernia operation a few years ago but decided to try and treat it myself.
    It’s now been gone completely for a year.
    I still run everyday and compete in explosive jumps and throws as a master athlete.
    Basically I made sure that I put pressure on my inguinal hernia when I went to the loo, had flatulence etc
    I also massaged the area a few times a day.
    Eventually I became aware and able to minimise using the hernia area when doing everyday things.
    It’s been gone for a year now.
    Do not believe that you need surgery always.

      I didn’t do any specific exercises. Just walking or jogging. No weight training for 6 months. This allowed it to heal without any stress. It’s not for everyone I know but I also 100% believed that I would heal it.
      Incidentally I had a torn meniscus many years ago but cancelled surgery and then spent several years jogging then resting etc. Initially I was unable to run more than once a week then I could do twice a week etc. After a few years I was back to LJ and TJ with no side effects.
      I do believe in the power of mentally healing oneself.

      Hey Per, great to hear that your going strong on this journey. I'd say the stomach yoga (nauli kriya) and the dietary changes seemed to be the most important for me. Fasting may have been a contributing factor as well, and the lifestyle changes.

    Inflammation is a BIG factor stretching your insides and looking for a way out . Go on a anti- inflammation diet if your gases work on getting rid of all things that cause stress/ anger.     Back in 1975 when I was 17 I got a hernia not going in and out just a lump on the right side I was a great swimmer lived with it for a year after eating steak for dinner it was bugging me too much so I told my dad and got surgery very painful. Anyway I want to say people are so lucky today to have the internet I wish I would have herd Tom's story back then I would have tried anything to avoid surgery.

    Juts keep doing what you are doing. Our weaknesses force us to learn virtue. I had one about 8 years ago. WhiIe I had a boxing workout routine wich also involved running 20 minutes on a concrete floor. I dont konw if it was hitting or running that caused it. It had to be one of the two. I watched a video that I cant find anymore wich really helped me. Some of the exercices look like the ones you are doing. I found from the beginning that riding a bike and doing squats (weighless) was benificial. But who knows. Our bodies are different. Congrats on beating surgery,

    Thanks for the very encouraging information!!!! At 73 I have had no issues with my health and have been very active. But have been diagnosed with an inguinal hernia 2 days ago which I’ve had for maybe 5 days now. I am one that the body can heal itself, if you help it !! I plan on watching all your videos and start a routine!
    I have a scheduled trip to Bangkok for one month starting July 3 . I made these plans about a month ago and would really like follow through. To satisfy my mind ,,, what is your opinion of me sitting so long a flight coming from Hawaii?? Thanks!!!

    hey brother, my names tom also and i have been working on fixing an inguinal hernia for over two months i was about to give up and schedule surgery but I'm going to try your exercises now, thanks for the inspiration, it's great to know theres other people trying these things
    i have the same history of fasting and stuffing myself, and sometimes overextended on exercises. I had a previous surgery 14 years prior on left side and now its bloating on the right side. I'm concerned that since I already had the mesh installed it could be problematic, it's hard to envision what's happening under there...
    I visited a neural therapist (I made a couple videos on my youtube about it if anyone's interested, the treatment is really cool) she tested for some allergies and apparently gluten, sugar, and dairy are problematic for me and i notice if i eat these things I do experience swelling of the hernia. Also she explained the connection between the TEETH and our organs, namely the wisdom and front teeth are connected to the intestines...

    just seen your vid. Im in Thailand as well. Cha am, Petchaburi Province. Aged 65, got an indirect inguinal hernia right side. Of course been to a few hospitals for different opinions, all want to do surgery......but as you know here in Thailand, its sell, sell, sell to us Farangs. Every doctor I saw told me to wear a truss until its operated on. So for now, I am wearing a truss, which helps a lot, keeps it in, adjusted my diet, taking it easy on the weights, etc, etc. Trouble is, it pops out every time i take off the truss, unless im flat on my back, when it reduces back in easily. I dont sleep with the truss on, and have no problems in bed at night.......but im so tempted just to get the surgery.... Im not convinced a bloke my age would heal naturally as a young chap like you.......but will wait a bit and see how it goes.........if i go to Government hospital in Hua Hin cant have it done for 3 months anyway.......

    Thanks for taking time to share your ideas. Mine was when I lifted a car wheel while in a twisted position & boom, it tore & popped through. I can easily push it back, but the minute I exert by abnormal lifting, its straight out again. I think the tear needs to be sewn up

    Great video! I believe that the reduction in eating helped with the inflammation, right along with the type of food that u are eating! Also u recognized right we’re your pain and bulge was. Great insight for all us that need to know that this type of Hernia can be healed without surgery!

    Hi Tom. Thanks for the hope. I have a small starting hernia I'm following your footsteps, except my diet is mostly carnivore.. I'm 74 and found I do best on meat, fish, eggs and dairy and hardly any plant food. You need animal proteins and fats to rebuild tissues. Several grams of Vitamin C daily also encourages connective tissue repair. You can tell by how fast vitamin C heals receding gums. Two weeks and 3 sets of ab crunches (not sit-ups) per day seem to being doing the trick for my hernia. I'm still keeping my weight lifting routine, but avoiding holding my breath during lifts.     Glad to hear you got good results. The diet is really essential for the intestines, I stopped gluten and felt a lot of difference, but I still haven't managed to stop the hernia from appearing for more than a day. I haven't tried the vegetarian diet yet, maybe it's the solution. a big hug.

      ​@@tommaher1841Very strange. Generally fiber (and sugar) keeps the situation worse. Fiber (and sugar) ferments in your gut and causes bloating and inflammation. Meat doesn't.

    Hello Tom, I wanted to ask since you never used a tross to keep your iguinal hernia inside. I have followed your advice and at 2 months my iguinal hernia went inside my body and I would stand and cough and sneeze and it still didn't come out. It's only when I bend down or bend forward that it comes out. That's the only thing thats holding me back now. Do you think if I don't bend for a long time that my iguinal hernia will fully heal. I'm doing all of your hernia workouts, yoga, intermident fasting and small meals in after fasting and it has helped just wanted to know on your side if I don't bend forward that it won't come out and fully heal. Would be cool if you replied or if anyone that can give me insight would be cool. Good luck to everyone out there trying to fix their iguinal hernia naturally.

      Hello, no I never wore a hernia belt during that time. I have heard great things about them from other people though!

    I've had an incisional hernia for 15 years. Polypropylene mesh in 2005, paritex in 2008 and it's still the size of a softball. I have no insurance and I just pray to God that it doesn't completely rupture

      Yikes, so you've already had surgery twice for the same problem? Unfortunately I've heard many stories of people getting risky surgeries that end up being ineffective.

    After everything I've read surgery is dangerous, seems to never fix the problem and most have continual pain. I will be trying your method and hope I can avoid surgery Thank you for sharing

    Inspiring story! Very happy for your positive outcome. I was wondering if you had an inguinal hernia in the inguinal canal area, or behind the scrotum? Maybe you mentioned it, but I missed it somehow. Anyway, I'm hoping I don't have an inguinal or femoral hernia. I don't have a noticeable bulge or lump, but I've had a persistent groin pain for almost 3 months and I can barely walk after all this time. Did you have issues with walking or standing for long periods btw?

      You sound like you strained muscle in your groin area. Look at somatic movement for the groin. Just a hunch.

    Your my Hero, gave m some positive hope, mine is not popping out yet, but severe pain whole day in right side groin, Doc said its in initial phase and it will eventually tear

      If it hasn't come out yet then you likely have time to reverse whtever is going on! I would focus on diet changes and fasting immediately. Find out what your body doesn't agree with and remove it from your life. Try not to push yourself too much physically, but if you want to try some exercises to strengthen the area it may be useful. Again though I'd be catious with exercises as that could be the last straw to causing a tear that the bulge can come through.

    Thank you for all of your effort that you put on make those videos making about hernia,IAM just on starting to do all exercise,all my life I been doing sports like you and also in my past I been already operated from one hernia ,but this time with nearly 50 IAM going to doit similarly without operation,I think it will build something stronger inside me the strength that the ,,best doctor is inside in -me "( no disrespect the doctors they do their best ) but is a nice challenge,I also want to say that I been not eating meat something like 7years and still the hernia appear,so I don't really know if the meat is problem to eat or not ,but maybe is the amount of the food the portion what we eat is the key ... But you did also mentioned that :-) have great time in Thailand stay strong and healthy,greeting from Czech Republic ahoj

      Great to hear about your story, thanks for sharing. If you still developed a hernia with a vegetarian diet then perhaps it is the portion sizes rather than the meat, but I'd also imagine that each person's body responds differently to different factors. Best of luck on your healing journey!

    I have 2 inguinal hernias repaired. I got 2 mesh implants. One at a side. Right side, where hernia was bigger, is OK while on the left side, even 2 years after surgery, I still feel some neural sensation. Everything is in all the time even while I am lifting heavy, but this wired feeling is there. So mesh repair can cause some issues. I noticed that long slow distance running helps a lot. Not so much walking not sprinting - just slow pace relaxed running.

      Very interesting that you find jogging to be beneficial. I would think any form of running would be pretty high impact and could potentially have a negative effect. Interesting though, I hope you're eventually able to get rid of that sensation in the surgery area.

    I'm fighting a hernia right now myself. I'm 63 years old and have been training in martial arts since I was 14 I'm already doing quite a bit of what you started doing I also found some exercises that I can do I believe one of those videos was yours for which I am grateful one personal comment I'll make is I can't imagine a white guy taking Muay Thai in Thailand and not catching Heck from some of the students LOL

      I'm glad your finding some good exercises to do to rehab your hernia! And actually there are many foreigners that train Muay Thai here! It's quite common to see in almost any Thai city.
