Overnight Kaimai Tramp and Hunt - Bush Stalking for Deer

I head into the Kaimai bush, and have a go at my first solo deer hunt, stalking some of the nearby bush in between a comfortable night at Hurunui Hut. I spook a deer with no further luck, but have a great time doing something a bit different. There won't be any graphic hunting content in any of these videos.

There are some great spots around there. I often find the deer when the streams mask the sounds I make when I think Im stalking quietly!!

@@ReviloNZwalks Not recently. Ive been struggling with time and health and havent got out much. I seem to stumble across more deer when Im an unarmed tramper than when Im hunting!

Spent many years hunting the Hurunui and its surrounds. Need to finish a dry boots shortcut to the hut i started a few years ago

Nice work I really enjoy bush stalking and chasing animals tends to take you well off the tracks into some amazing parts of our country, enjoy the journey.

Haha indeed they are. Was glad for them in the thick stuff but think trail shoes will be best for stream hunts.
