What if, cool trainer Beth wasn't an old man disguised as a cute girl. What if the elder of sprout tower is really a cute girl disguised as an old man! Mind = blown
I like how if a Pokemon has a stat over 100, its other stats are considered "garbage" while any pokemon with less then 100 in one stat has good stats if they're around the 90s. Flareon still has pretty decent spaecial attack at 95, it just isn't the best of the five and it has other stats to help with coverage.
Flareon is considered poor stat wise because it's movepool and typing don't compliment being a physical attacker. Gen 4's Physical/Special split helped it a bit, but the only physical fire moves it can learn are Flame Wheel and Flare Blitz.
I made Flareon work in LeafGreen. And I knew a kid named Kevin who's last name was Gavin once.Yeah, they have the pointless guard there, but in D/P/P, they have the guard there that verifies that you have all 8 badges when you have to go through Victory Road AND use Waterfall to get to the castle.
Flareon is terrible, though. Especially before the physical/special move split. High attack, sure, but horrible moves to back it up. All fire moves were special in the first three gens, so Flareon's STAB moves were really weak.
solarbeam is awsome. reason for this being that it only takes one turn when the weather is sunny. so what i like to do is have a rapidash with sunny day and solarbeam. that way it can destroy water and ground types(which are it's weaknesses) as well as power up it's fire type moves. :)
@xrebby1 I think I can shed some light on that question; when a whirlpool is created, the water current is being transformed into a circular vortex either rotating clockwise or counterclockwise. However, is a current if an opposite vortex, let's just say the original whirlpool was spinning clockwise and the second created by a Pokemon using whirlpool moved counterclockwise, it's very possible that the two opposite currents could cancel each other out, effectively making both whirlpools go away.
For anyone that's never watched Werster's speed runs of Pokemon games. In HG/SS you can glitch your way through to get to Elite Four with only 5 badges(because you need Fly at least) and the guy who verifies your badges in HG/SS will let you through even if you don't have the 8 badges of Johto but in G/S/C that guy who verifies your badges won't let you through even if you do glitch your way in.
This may be a little late and someone probably already said this but...you don't get waterfall cause of having the eight badges, it's the rising badge that lets you use waterfall.
Oh man! I just started Soul Silver about a week ago and just beat Whitney... with only a Pidgeotto and a Bayleaf... who were both a couple levels below Clefairy and Milktank... When I watched you fight her I was very nerous of fighting her. I guess I was lucky.
Flareon wasn't great back then, but Curse, Flail, Quick Attack, Return & Shadow Ball were formidable. Glaceon should be the Eevee evolution that's considered the worst (though none are bad) due to its type & how its moves don't complement its stats all that well (the stats themselves work together). With Glaceon, it's basically "hit hard with Special moves after your opponent does something". The only reason Flareon wasn't great is it's Defense, Speed and type don't get along with each other.
Nah seto’s rude disposition and bad attitude was far worse Although his rude disposition and bad attitude made him funny like how simon cowl used to be
Ah yes, I remember using Solarbeam an awful lot back in the old days. And I still love the music for this route. Go Shiny Weezing! It's awesome every time it appears. I''m pretty sure that the trainer just before the gate (Beth) is required. On the subject of Pokémon game overs, I think the last one I had was when I failed at catching Mewtwo back in Fire Red. And finally, onto Victory Road. I think you could skip Jasmine's badge unintentionally.
Cuz chugga decided to do the old crystal version, it made me look through some old games and OMG I found the old silver and yellow on gameboy colour, some of my first ever games! Thanks chugga, but I still wish u did emerald or ruby, my 1st game ever and my favourite pokemon game
Sandslash is actually a great pokemon. While it's moves leave something to be desired, as it only gets STAB from Sand Tomb, it's stats are phenomenal, with amazing physical defense and great physical attack. It's stats are good for it's moves, as 90% of them are physical.
You technically only need to beat the Blackthorn Gym to use Waterfall, which is not neccessarily your last gym battle (though most people save it for last). You could skip Jasmie and Chuck if you wanted. That's why Pokemon are so underleveled in Mahagony.
You actually can reconcile the appearance of recently-defeated trainers out in the world. Ever notice how practically nobody ever uses 6 pokemon in battle? They just don't use all of them in a single battle, so they always have some left. The player just can't do it because Red/Gold/whoever the protagonist of your particular game is was born with a mental defect making it impossible for him/her to give up.
@shadowsa2b In Gen II, male Pokémon have higher Attack IVs, but no other stat matters. Gen III and on works from the PV, so IVs don't matter for gender.
@dunboody I suppose, at least until the physical/special spit introduced in 4th gen. You see there are two big fails with Faleron, 1 being that it's specialty is it's attack stats yet fire type moves were special and the other being its poor move pool that doesn't really give too many physical moves to make use of it's attack stats. Both these problems I feel were fixed in the 4th generation though. :/
actually, they DO need to check the badges, u would go to Cianwood City, get the Secretpotion, head back to the lighthouse, give the SP to Jasmine, and then u could skip CHUCKY!!
8:19 "NO! I do NOT share numbers with old farts who disguise themselves as cute girls" BEST INTERNET SAFETY QUOTE EVER!
What the Solarbeam description should be:
1st Turn: Prepare
2nd Turn: Attack
3rd Turn: ??????
4th Turn: PROFIT!!
What if, cool trainer Beth wasn't
an old man disguised as a cute girl. What if the elder of sprout tower is really a cute girl disguised as an old man! Mind = blown
+True Legend mind blown
she probably went down to that house to heal. you said yourself that you can heal there as often as you want for free.
I like how if a Pokemon has a stat over 100, its other stats are considered "garbage" while any pokemon with less then 100 in one stat has good stats if they're around the 90s. It has low HP, Speed, and physical Defence, meaning it often gets knocked out before it can even do anything.
Tweet tweet tweet tweet... Did he invent twitter?
My thougth. XD
Emile cut out the video so we won't know whether his name is Jack XD
Wow, I've watched a few pokemon Let's Plays on you Tube, but yours are far and away the most informative and entertaining.
Flareon is terrible, though. Especially before the physical/special move split. High attack, sure, but horrible moves to back it up. All fire moves were special in the first three gens, so Flareon's STAB moves were really weak.
Love the Route 26/27 music. Especially that incredible orchestrated version of it made for the anime.
Yeah lots of pokemon can have the name back words thing for got the word like *eevee* and *girafarig* and fith gen *alomomola* that's all I know >^
the only other palindrome in a name is Ho-oh
Chawesome146 Woah, never actually noticed the Alomomola thing
+Butterfree and eevee
uh--er--I--oh--umm...
Any tips on how to respond to such an unnecessary comment? Anyone?
How about I don't do it? I think that's a good idea.
"NO! I do NOT share numbers with old farts who disguise themselves as cute girls" - ChuggaConroy 2010
0:48 - Well, I think the Disgaea games have funnier item descriptions, Chuggaa. :P
Yes....yes they are. Though some are terifying
7:07 would be an amazing ringtone.
Who the fuck says Kevin instead of Gavin?
7:32 well i love it in pokemon dimand/pearl how berry runs into the route after KO ing his team
The surfing music kept cutting out my favorite music in Pokémon GSC in route 27 and 26! I love this music!
at 0:23 i ran into a wild pokemon in my game at the exact same time he did and the music was like in sync
the only reason i watch these is because this guy is hilarious
Music right before Victory Road in that weird receptionist area is intense
The amount you cut is exactly why i like you more over other LP'ers.
you kno whats weird? the fact that if all of ur pokemon faint, ur magically teleported without question 0.0
solarbeam is awsome. reason for this being that it only takes one turn when the weather is sunny. so what i like to do is have a rapidash with sunny day and solarbeam. that way it can destroy water and ground types(which are it's weaknesses) as well as power up it's fire type moves. :)
Flareon's adorable though, just look at it! It's so red and fluffy and it looks like it wants a hug. Not that the other eevelutions aren't cute.
4:00 Imagine your babysitter being chuggaaconroy. That would be very strange.
"NOO.I do not share phone numbers with old farts who disguise themselves as cute girls>:0".. Damn i laughed
Hugh the battle music for either the gym trainers, or elite 4 for hoen is a remix of kanto battle music in gen 2 I didn't realize that before

@3:44 I have a little cousin named Gaven....true facts Emile.
This may be a little late and someone probably already said this but...you don't get waterfall cause of having the eight badges, it's the rising badge that lets you use waterfall.

just jumping ot random parts of the video is just hilarious
7:10 I think it sounded more Chugga threw up from having too much beer more than a "I couldn't make that noise again if I tried" noise
i remember a house somewhere in the game that has a book in it that lists the days of week kids locations.nowadays i just can't find that house
Flareon wasn't great back then, but Curse, Flail, Quick Attack, Return & Shadow Ball were formidable. Man Chugga on Flareon on this LP makes Seto Kaiba look like Hau.
Nah seto’s rude disposition and bad attitude was far worse
Although his rude disposition and bad attitude made him funny like how simon cowl used to be
I caught my shiny ryhorn in victory road in ss! Can't wait for the next part
the irony of this game is, north is always scaling a mountain
I love this LP long time
Ah yes, I remember using Solarbeam an awful lot back in the old days.
And I still love the music for this route.
Go Shiny Weezing! It's awesome every time it appears.

when did the orange LOL start? the color games had a limited palette, and the shades of some Pokemon change when you use an attack (like sludge bomb)
With the whole receptionist thing, it's actually possible to skip Jasmine all the way up to this point, so he does kinda need to be there.
"I have never seen rollout miss so many times!!"
You have never used Rollout in Mystery Dungeon, Chuggaa. Ever.
trivia: Gabin is a member of Achievement Hunter/Roosterteeth. And a bunch of people will say,
"EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!" not necessarily.
Dude, I have an awesome suggestion! Everytime a combo move (like Roll out) is broken before completion, use the C-c-combo Breaker! meme from MK.
I always laugh when I hear your epic "Thank you for dying." ^^
i really never thought of the jumping things as ledges til diamond. i always thought hey were like shrubs. idk tho
So excited for the Pokémon league. Good luck.
Those kids are watching now going "I was babysat by Chuggaaconroy!"
This is what the Solarbeam description should've said
*"1st turn: Prepare"*
*"2nd turn: Attack"*
*"3rd turn: Uhhh..."*
*"4th turn: PROFIT!"*
LMFAO!
When you were battling Cool Trainer Beth, I was playing Pokemon Gold (2nd Generation) And I got a call from Cool Trainer Beth! XD
Cuz chugga decided to do the old crystal version, it made me look through some old games and OMG I found the old silver and yellow on gameboy colour, some of my first ever games! Thanks chugga, but I still wish u did emerald or ruby, my 1st game ever and my favourite pokemon game
Rollout missing a lot reminded me of that episode your Earthbound LP where Ness kept missing. Maybe Darmani should call his mom.
Sandslash is actually a great pokemon. While it's moves leave something to be desired, as it only gets STAB from Sand Tomb, it's stats are phenomenal, with amazing physical defense and great physical attack. It's stats are good for it's moves, as 90% of them are physical.

how'd you make those surrounding images bordering your vids? :x
Im still waiting for Darmani to get good =)
i remember that kingler just killing me especially since it had protect
BTW, repel only works if the wild pokemon are a lower level than the first pokemon in your party
at mt. silver there is a really awsome reference to red and blue
Beth, or so she says that's her name, probably had a Game Over, but went to that healing place nearby and back.
I love how they never tell you where the other 6 day siblings are whenever its not their turn to be out and about. I mean, shoudn't they be at home?
once again chuggaa is funny the reason why i subscribe thats just one reason there are others
You actually can reconcile the appearance of recently-defeated trainers out in the world. Ever notice how practically nobody ever uses 6 pokemon in battle? The player just can't do it because Red/Gold/whoever the protagonist of your particular game is was born with a mental defect making it impossible for him/her to give up.
Is this like the Wheezing's debut battle?
i havent seen every episode but is that weezing legit? which episode wa s it
i will never understand how making a whirlpool makes another whirlpool go away..
hey chuggaconroy will you be covering the entire kanto reigon or just finishing after the elite 4.
Are you going to cover the Kanto part of the game as well?
there should be a rival in a later game that cares and loves his pokemon.
I can't believe I instantly figured out that reference.
@MichaelSaniyan no there special made not mass produced the gym has like only 3 badges at a time
@shadowsa2b In Gen II, male Pokémon have higher Attack IVs, but no other stat matters. Gen III and on works from the PV, so IVs don't matter for gender.
You have a Rappel up? that explains why a wild pokemon appeared.
@dunboody
I suppose, at least until the physical/special spit introduced in 4th gen. You see there are two big fails with Faleron, 1 being that it's specialty is it's attack stats yet fire type moves were special and the other being its poor move pool that doesn't really give too many physical moves to make use of it's attack stats. 0:49 planning for war
Technically you need the 8th Badge to use Waterfall, not all 8. I think that receptionist is there if you skip any gym leaders like Chuck.
#OMG when his koffing turn into weezing... can somebody tell me the episode number
@Hoktail yea but im wondering what level does espeon learn pshycic
the receptionist is there because its possible to get there without beating chubby chuck, i learned the hard way D:
@ColorfullHD Anytime. Now if someone actually does have that as a ringtone, I hope they play it on max volume in a library.
Chugga In the next episode can you explain what you think about the new generation pokemon and the game?
Actually, you only need the rising badge to climb waterfalls. You could fight clair first, but then getting the other badgfes would be way too easy.
Yeah outside of hacking I'd like to see HOW anyone can get to Clair before getting a single gym badge
actually, they DO need to check the badges, u would go to Cianwood City, get the Secretpotion, head back to the lighthouse, give the SP to Jasmine, and then u could skip CHUCKY!!
Hey, I happen to love Flareion. It's actually my best Pokemon
Lvl 84
Fire Blast
Sunny Day
Dig
Bite
@Tenorsaxman3030 Fire type attacks were still special in Gen 2. So its had the same problem for a while. Its really needs flare blitz. Its also slow.
I thought Dratini didn't evolve until level 35? Or am I thinking of another Dragon-trilogy-evolution Pokemon?
Does anyone else notice that Chugga makes a tutting noise pretty much after every sentence?
@spellcombo The poke with the exp. share switches in, getting the original half plus half of what the first pokemon would have gotten, making it 75%
I named my Espeon "ShadowClaw" and that was in 2001
8:25 i dont know if its me and i dont know if someone already mention it but i thought it was "max elixir" not "max elixer"
@ShadowKaiserin But why does pokemon have special and pshysical defense and attack then?
Vs Rapidash, Literally as soon as you said "DIE" It hit xD
For some reason, the victory road theme reminds me of the ffvii theme.
@ShadowKaiserin Ok in Red and Blue was special both for the types and the defenses of that type too.
what pokemon do u use for EPIC SLAVE, again? i forgot. i need me an EPIC SLAVE pokemon right now lol
yes, you totally referenced what kind of pokemon are you, "ha, go flareon, yeah that's my boy"
