When I first fought blue in the remakes, his final pokemon was his gyarados. It obliterated my team. Or so I thought. I had an electrode from the rocket HQ, the gyarados gat afflicted by static, and I spammed spark until it was dead. That was the luckiest I had ever gotten in ANY pokemon game.
please note that in HGSS, Blue's team is no longer toying with you: his pidgeot has max power return, his rhydon has megahorn, his gyarados has dragon dragon dance + 3 physical attacks, and he has a no guard machamp.
@@shadowsamus3168 And even Exeggutor seems to have been made tougher. Not only is its moveset more annoying (Psychic lowers Special Defense, Hypnosis puts you to sleep, Leaf Storm lowers accuracy), but Trick Room is a huge help if it can use it since it's slow, and slower Pokémon move first under Trick Room's effect. (Btw, I know I'm late commenting.)
What I think is really cool about Blue's team is that it's mostly the same team from Red and Blue. The only exception is that he has whatever Pokémon his starter would have replaced (Pidgeot, Rhydon, and Alakazam are always with him, while Blastoise would replace Gyarados, Charizard would replace Arcanine, and Venusaur would replace Exeggcute.).
I love the Pidgeot sprite in HG/ss. It's like, " Be prepared... to DIE!" That is aprt of the reason I chose a Pidgeot for my team on my second run of HeartGold!
Yeah they took it out due to Crystal because you have the option to be a girl. I don't like Blue's line of Johto's gyms being pathetic but despite his rhetoric he is hard.
@D33JNES Green and Yellow were kind of Manga-exclusive characters. Green was a thief that resembled the female character of FR and LG. She stole a squirtle from Prof. Oak, which actually ended up starting the events of the series as a whole. Yellow is the main character from the last part of the Kanto saga in the manga. Yellow had a unique ability to heal pokemon and communicate with them on some level. It's a pretty interesting read if you're up for wasting some time. Much better than the anime
I seriously thought in the beginning Blue was going to say "Yo! Finally got here, huh? This is 16th Your Sanctuary location, but it's mine now. Take it from me, if you dare!"
3:56 His Machamp in the remakes is probably his toughest Pokemon: it hast the ability No Gaurd which means that Dynamic Punch will always hit, guaranteed to fuck your shit up.
Just something of note, Vui's bite would actually be stronger than it's Shadow ball because up until the 4th gen Dark type moves were special based. 60 base power with Vui's special attack stat over 80 base power off of Vui's Attack stat.
I'm guessing his last Pokémon is a Charizard, because Chuggaa said that Gyarados' Rain Dance would work against it in more ways than one. Disadvantages for any Charizard caused by Rain Dance are as follows: 1: It weakens Charizard's Fire Type attacks by 50%, if memory serves... 2: Rain Dance makes the accuracy of Electric Type moves jump up to 100%. 3: Rain Dance powers up Water Type moves, which just adds to reason #1.
Because he's a jerk and hates you so much that he thought he'd inflict the deadliest attack of all:Lego trap, where you don't notice a piece of Lego and stand on it and feel the most intense pain ever.
In the remakes Blue starts off with his Exeggutor, so it can set up a Trick Room so his slower pokemon (i.e. Exeggutor, Machamp, and Rhydon [and Tyranitar in the remake]) move first instead of last.
I'd say that Blue is the best gym leader in Pokémon history. Not only does he put up quite a bit of a fight, but he's the only one smart enough to realize that only using one type isn't that smart. Though I guess that's the point of being a "type specialist".
wow i found chuggaaconroy from superskarmory and i've watched 3 of his lps. hes one of the best lps/walkthrougher i've ever seen. Superskarmory and him are my favorites
@coolguyx10 In the original Red and Blue it was meant to be, but the only dragon type move was dragon rage witch was a fixed 40 damage so that would mean that gyaradose would have no weakness so they changed it to flying.
@StarKoopaChaox first it was the video game, then after that the manga was released "pokemon adventures" which is follows the videogames, thus the character being named red, blue, green, yellow, gold, silver, etc and so on. the anime just follows a storyline of its own. like ash starting of with a pikachu, while red's started pokemon were poliwhirl and bulbasaur in the manga. the manga came out before the anime. thus is why he is named blue, not gary. .....sorry if there is bad grammar.
Gary was based on Blue aka the rival and Ash is based on Red aka the protagonist of R/G/B/Y. Back in those days the characters canonical names were the colors of the games, it wasn't until Gold and Silver that the main character got something close to real canon names (and even cameos in the anime, with two of the girl characters being turned into the girl sidekicks for Ash). The rival still had no real name though, being referred to this day as Silver.
@Kennydied32 and @randomfacts137 the rival in fire red is originally Green and the girl is originally Blue. It says so on serebii if you look up manga bios.
@mimzygirl2 Actually, it's the other way around. Pokemon Red and Blue came first, then the anime. Blue was the rival in the games, and Gary was based on him.
Ooh cliffhanger. You know, i cant help but wonder if you'll take on red. I know its annoying to get to a suitable level in this game, but i wanna see it.
@Shdow1 Well, you're mostly right, but I disagree on the "Playing Pokemon Yellow" part. The charcters where introduced in Blue and Red/Green, Yellow was what Crystal is to Gold and Silver, kinda a "Semi-Remake". I know that's nitpicking, and apologize for being a jerk, but I don't like it when the order of things is broken. You did have some facts unknown to me, like Red getting bored of being the Champ.
@ForbiddenCharizard99 but dragon dance raises speed and attack, so gyarados not having a dragon move has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING. instead it makes it more dangerous.
@MarioPlushVideosInc Not quite. The games came first, with Pokemon Red and Blue. The hero's name was Red, and the Rival's name was Blue. Then, the anime was made, and they thought, "Red and Blue aren't very good names" so they created Ash, his appearance based on Red, and Gary, his appearance based on Blue.
@pikachu019 but it is really water flying they didnt make it water dragon because it would be to hard to take out in the original game with 2 dragon moves
@DeviledX See i'm more of a guy that... well. I'm more of a sweeper, i put the strongest attacks on my pokemon that would fit best in every situation, so i don't use the stat boosting moves. But thank you so much for your input.
I think switching over to Machamp from Alakazam was kind of smart, actually, considering that Blue partially has a Trick Room team there (Exeggutor, Rhydon, and Machamp benefit anyway). Would've been even smarter with other Trick Room Pokemon, though.
@Flareblade26 It depends on which version you played. In the US versions, the girl is Green. In the other versions, the girl is blue and the boy is Green. Translations are strange. x_x But yeah, we're both right, haha.
"You don't get to be leader of the pokemon league without learning to spam FULL RESTORES!"
When I first fought blue in the remakes, his final pokemon was his gyarados. It obliterated my team. Or so I thought. I had an electrode from the rocket HQ, the gyarados gat afflicted by static, and I spammed spark until it was dead. That was the luckiest I had ever gotten in ANY pokemon game.

yeah, hes not playing around anymore
And Chugga saying that replacing Alakazam with machamp was "real smart". No guard dynamic punches are no joke.
Thats when you face the former champ of Kanto
Let's add more pain, arcanine has flare blitz
@@shadowsamus3168 And even Exeggutor seems to have been made tougher. Lol ya don't say
This is basically his team if he wasn't given one of the three starters, true
0:12 Yeah, especially Whitney. She's SUCH a pushover!
If you have the strategies like I have she is pretty pathetic
blue himself didn't give me much trouble but the puzzle in soul silver took me an hour
That's fitting because Blue's room in the Originals are a Lego Palace, literally.
Its so laughably easy what the fuck
"He's Gary Oak!
He's got his kribby KRABBY"
omg i love you XD *fav*
you can't be a champion without knowing how to span full restores a phrase from Lance n pokemon golder 2 or 3
I SWEAR WHEN I SEE THOSE BLOCKS?... I SEE THEM AS LEGOS LOL
Facts
I can never look at normal Eggsegutor the same
COUGH!!! SUN AND MOON!!! COUGH!!! COUGH!!! COUGH!!!
Evan Discenza *hack*
"GO METHANE!" that sounds like you're sending out a fart
Damn you Emile! You and your mischievous cliff-hanging ways!
when you asked "what did you expect comming from methane?" i said explosions
I love the Pidgeot sprite in HG/ss. It's like, " Be prepared... to DIE!" That is aprt of the reason I chose a Pidgeot for my team on my second run of HeartGold!
yo in silver he says Johto boy
ya dawg cuz in crystal theres a boy and a girl character so its easier to make it say champ
they removed the best quote in the games :(
Yeah they took it out due to Crystal because you have the option to be a girl. I don't like Blue's line of Johto's gyms being pathetic but despite his rhetoric he is hard.
The fact that THE FORMER LEAGUE CHAMP is a genuine threat makes me very very very happy.
Can't you see, Chuggaa?
Odairu raises his arm to call the waters of fury to smite his opponents!
actually started playing pokemon again after all these years, great vids indeed. pls add.
10:30 I almost shited on my pants when you used Extremespeed
3:14 "It also likes raising one of its arms while looking funny"
I think Blue has the same pose as feraligatr in the sidebar...
yeah this fight was getting pretty epic so cliff hanger was so needed
I love the sound effect for flame wheel!
your the best walkthour maker ever!i thank you alot for everything
I love how Psychic looks and sounds in this game
Best battle ever....and its still not over!
@D33JNES Green and Yellow were kind of Manga-exclusive characters. Green was a thief that resembled the female character of FR and LG. seriously i keep taking naps and waking up in the hope the next part would be up..
Boy has this match been epic so far
3:56 His Machamp in the remakes is probably his toughest Pokemon: it hast the ability No Gaurd which means that Dynamic Punch will always hit, guaranteed to fuck your shit up.
chuggaaconroy I'm gonna piss my self from waiting at the end !
This was your most intense battle yet! I totally thought you were going to be finished by Gyarados. XD
Just something of note, Vui's bite would actually be stronger than it's Shadow ball because up until the 4th gen Dark type moves were special based.
60 base power with Vui's special attack stat over 80 base power off of Vui's Attack stat.
I can't wait to hear how he reacts when fighting Red.
@thomaass2 Nope. His name ingames is Blue. Gary is the name he was given in the anime, but they aren't the same character.
This video came out of the Blue skies. (pun intended)
you must have been very happy when the paralysis worked on that gyrados
man, blue is OBSEST, with legos, he builds his whole gym out of it!
a time i battled the pidgeot and it use flamethrower ,it probably used mirror move when i wasnt looking
i love how he is so serious when he battles gary .. thats not normal..
I'm guessing his last Pokémon is a Charizard, because Chuggaa said that Gyarados' Rain Dance would work against it in more ways than one.

unless you got shoes
When Your wheezing was fighting that gyarados i was shouting BOOM BOOM BOOM NOW!
Blue Spamming Full Restores.
Reminds me of when I played Blue and he used his full restores about 7 times. I'm not kidding.
In the remakes Blue starts off with his Exeggutor, so it can set up a Trick Room so his slower pokemon (i.e. Exeggutor, Machamp, and Rhydon [and Tyranitar in the remake]) move first instead of last.
Whoever designed this gym must have also designed the magnet train stations, some weird abstract stuff going on there
Blue, the Lego type Gym Leader! :3
I'd say that Blue is the best gym leader in Pokémon history. Not only does he put up quite a bit of a fight, but he's the only one smart enough to realize that only using one type isn't that smart.
Though I guess that's the point of being a "type specialist".
Blue was my idol when I was a kid...
wow i found chuggaaconroy from superskarmory and i've watched 3 of his lps. hes one of the best lps/walkthrougher i've ever seen. Superskarmory and him are my favorites
@coolguyx10 In the original Red and Blue it was meant to be, but the only dragon type move was dragon rage witch was a fixed 40 damage so that would mean that gyaradose would have no weakness so they changed it to flying.
The anime says there are many gyms in a region. Ash/Red only goes after a few of them and you are only required to get 8 badges from that region.
2:30 never say thank god.say thank miyamoto
Gary is Blue's anime counterpart.
@Hyp3r309 no, its the other way around, gary looks like blue. blue was made first, gary is just his counterpart in the anime
He always starts with his bird pokemon.
Good lord, I don't remember his Gyrados being nearly that tough. 0_o
Wow, Methane didn't get to use Explosion in this episode, or I guess it really didn't have a chance to.
Alakazam goes down easy, but if you set him up with a calm mind, you can clear blues entire team with Psychic. Ala's speed is awesome :)
I just noticed that Gyardos is the only Pokemon where Hyper Beam really comes out of it's mouth.
@SackMonk No, Blue was the original, official name. The anime came out AFTER the games, and Gary was based on Blue.
comin up close to pokemon fans know what!
So excited!
oh man that gyarados put up one hell of a fight
Isn't this the fierst time one of the new gym leaders fainted one of your pokemon?
you make the best videos ever!!
Did anybody else find it funny that he went with every other pokemon?
@StarKoopaChaox first it was the video game, then after that the manga was released "pokemon adventures" which is follows the videogames, thus the character being named red, blue, green, yellow, gold, silver, etc and so on. the anime just follows a storyline of its own. like ash starting of with a pikachu, while red's started pokemon were poliwhirl and bulbasaur in the manga. the manga came out before the anime. thus is why he is named blue, not gary. .....sorry if there is bad grammar.
I wish Pokemon would evolve in the middle of battle. That would be so cool.
in the original game blue is gary from the show, but in he remake he is gary from the first pokemon manga
were all the 1906 viewer lol. and chugga your the master of cliffhangers!
That battle was payback for dissing the other gym leaders
@GnsMaster321 Noctowl is one of the best normal flying types becasue it can learn some pretty beast Phychic attacks.
@DanTheEnigma It is a great move. It has to stay on the opponent for two-three turns. After that, it does 50% or more of damage than a regular poison.
wow the hyper beam actually comes out of the mouth for garydos
@CrazyKittyCat0 ice is weak to it so ice punch would b cut in half from water but x2 from the flying so it would do normal damage
odairu's back sprite reminds me a lot of gary...or excuse me, blue's art on the side
B/c in Japan,Blue was a special edition of Red and Green. The Blue we know is actually Pokemon Green in Japan.

Who expected Gyrados to die by the poison then Chuggaa just go WHAT THE FU-BOOOOOOM! on his Charizard.
Awesome video as always! Wooop against the jerk of viridian gym hahah.
@mimzygirl2 Actually, it's the other way around. Pokemon Red and Blue came first, then the anime. Blue was the rival in the games, and Gary was based on him.
lol his "oh no" is genuine at 10:30 he's probly thinking fuck i gotta film this again
I really like the kanto gym battle music
I love your vids, man
psychic from a alakazam is like getting round house kicked by Chuck Norris
Blue still retains his "Jerk" status. ^^

@pikachu019 but it is really water flying they didnt make it water dragon because it would be to hard to take out in the original game with 2 dragon moves
