You have some good tips here, one thing I disagree with is avoiding parts of the build because they will not be seen. For me the build experience is whats most important. You will get the most out of a kit by building and painting everything, even those things that will not be seen. To get the most out of a kit I think everything has to be built. It's the fun of modelling. For me I don't get the most out of a kit and the joy of building if I leave stuff out.
Thank you for the tips. As a new modeler, your tips are very helpful. There is one tip I have found useful that was not mentioned- watch TH-cam. When I put together the Airflix Start Set Sherman model, I watch all the TH-cam videos of its assembly, and learned lot about assembling the kit. The video is very good, but its value would enhanced by demonstrating the technique as you explain it. I found my attention divided between what was happening on screen and what you were saying. The video should reinforce the verbal explanation and vice versa. I hope you continue to produce a modeling video.
Using clear varnish to apply clear parts is a great idea! Though white glue is still good if theres a gap to fill.

I sometimes leave parts off so I can use them for future scratcbuilds.
going to have to try the tires in the freezer trick, sounds interesting, thanks
Thank you for both the varnish tip on clear parts and freezer idea for rubber!
I like the tire hack.
Nice tips. Thanks for sharing.
