I just want to thank everyone for the support on this video, I really did not expect it to do this well at all. I hope you all look forward to future videos!
You did great my man. I have an idea for your next video. Discussing ideas for Monsters at work season three and decide which ones would work best. For example I would like to explore Cutter and Sunny’s rekindled relationship and how they improved themselves as a couple, especially since they are lesbian monsters. Which is something that I wasn’t expecting but I love it. Also you could talk about the possibility of Randall coming up with his plan for revenge against Mike and Sully. Think about it.
The part where Tylor scared Ben was really heartbreaking, not only cause it was a flashback to Sully scaring Boo, but because Tylor had a panic attack too. I can tell by reality distortion in his eyes and shortness of breath. First it was Chase in the Paw Patrol movie, then Puss in The Last Wish, then Hunter in the Owl House, Floor in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Moon Girl, and now THIS. Man, anxiety attacks are just going around movies and shows these days. Anyways…that moment stung me. He sure learnt about what Sully meant by changing from scaring to laughter. It was even more shocking Randall came back too. If we get a third season, PLEASE let Boo come back!
I personally enjoyed the first season of Monsters at work and was delighted to see some of the returning voice cast, and this show was successful in one main aspects of sequels or any other expansion! Expanding the world and exploring the elements introduced in the previous season/movies. Sure it has flaws, it is not top tier animation, it is not the next Emmy award winning, last of us show but behind it all, it still has that charm.
I’ve got some ideas for season 3: 1. It isn’t clear if FearCo was completely shut down at the end of season 2, if they haven’t: they should make another Epsiode where they play softball but this time monsters Inc wins. This would be a great moment in the series as it would mark their very first victory in the softball games, which would be a very uplifting moment after loosing for 40 years straight. Continuing with the idea that FearCo hasn’t shut down, they would have to rebrand because of people wanting laugh power (most likely changing their name to LaughCo), they could have it so their new CEO makes a more gradual change to laugh power, as a contrast to Sulley ‘all in’ approach. 1 a) They could make it so that which ever team wins gets two tickets to Harry Hausens. This would mean that if Monsters Inc finally won: the episode would end in a very heartwarming moment with Mike and Ceelia finally being able to enjoy a meal together at Harry Hausens. Also the Epsiode could be a two partner with Mike trying to train the team to victory in the first part: similar to how he trained Oozma Kappa in MU. The second part would be the victory: they could even have Waternoose and Johnny Worthington spectating the game as they are allowed a day outside of prison and have Johnny making a smug/gloating remark about how FearCo have won all 40 of the past games and how Monsters Inc are so useless that they’re going to loose this one again marking their 41st conservative victory: only to then witness his company loose for the first time. 2. In Season 2 Epsiode 8, Mike claims he’s making a play called ‘New Canisters’ to hide the fact that the canisters were leaking (or so he believed at the time). It would be really funny if they made an episode where they tried to make a play called ‘New Canisters’ with Sully to direct and Mike to do his ‘New Canister Dance’. This would be a call back to ‘Put that kid back where it came from or so help me!’. As for the play itself: it could be about how the monsters adapted to the change from scream to laugh, and could also potentially be used to make meta commentary: in a similar vein to the Ember Island Players Epsiode from ATLA. 3. They could have some scenes with Waternoose and Johnny Worthington III, maybe see their perspective change whilst their sharing a cell in prison. 4. It would be interesting so see how Johnny’s family are coping as a result of his arrest. They will likely be dealing with the emotional fallout from discovering that their dad who they loved was actually a crook and will likely have to live with the stigma of being associated with him, in fact Roger Roger’s will have had to have dealt with that when his father (Waternoose) was discovered to be making a scream extractor: so they could potentially bond over that shared experience. 5. In season 2: it’s implied that the members of Oozma Kappa were able to become successful scarers, which means they will have to adapt now that laugh power is becoming a thing: Mike could train them up to be jokesters the same way he did to be scarers in MU. 6. Randall should come back as a villain. 7. They could show how Sully’s family (who were initially established to have a strong legacy of being great scarers) are reacting to the change from scare power to laugh power. 8. They could have an Epsiode where Mike finally does his paperwork on time but because of some unexpected circumstances: he looses all his paper work and has to scramble around trying to fix everything only for the episode to end with Roz calmly telling him that once again, he’s late, with her usual dry humor. 9. Mike could propose to Ceelia and or Tylor could propose to Val or both. 10. Sully gets to re-untie with Boo.
Season 2 surprised me a lot. Instead of feeling standalone-ish every single episode other than the first and last parts this felt like one story told in multiple parts. Love how it combined more characters from both Inc and University. New characters felt a tad stronger as well. There will be some niches that people will obviously complain about but overall a big improvement over Season 1. I’m down for a third season. Would love for Boo to return.
This is going to sound insane but... I think they could do a third movie that takes place after this. Personally, the way this season ended is the most I have been excited for the future of this franchise or any pixar IP since the first monsters inc installment.
While this show is not perfect I think it is kind of overheated really because it's not really doing anything wrong I know not everybody loves Monsters University but I love it because it's genuinely a good movie and it's probably one of the better movies of Pixar sequel era in Monsters at work adds a lot to this universe
Great video and yeah I agree I really really loved this season it was excellent it's such an impressive show. Also agree with your points about how they might've put a bit more build up with them thinking that it was tylor betraying them. Bizzare that you uploaded this yesterday since that was when I watched the season!
I love that Laugh Power isn't immediately accepted. the monster world is so deeply rooted in scaring that they have entire schools dedicated to it and so our characters need to prove that Laugh Power works, or else people will lose faith in them and turn to other factories for their power. This has been a question I've had since the first movie. if Scare Power fails because kids aren't scared anymore, what will happen if it gets too hard to make kids laugh anymore? this would actually be a great way for Waternoose to come back. he laughs, saying he was right all along. they need to extract screams from children. he's been running this factory for decades while Sully and Mike have only been here a few years. he should be put back in charge. I hope to see more seasons because I have a lot of questions on the future of the monster world.
I feel bad for Monsters Inc that they’ve had 40 softball games against FearCo and they lost ALL of them. If there is a season 3: I hope they have another game against FearCo, but this time they win.
I actually enjoyed Season 1 better just for the slice of life side of things. However, Season 2 is not without its good points. Tyler’s existential crisis was not something I was expecting. When he and Val have their fall out, things in terms of writing points south. But I was shocked Tyler scared Ben and Randell came back. And the momentum quickly regains from there. I felt like No, Not Again! Instead of a lazy rehash, it’s a rare feeling of deja vu that really works. I’m crossing my fingers for Season 3. Monsters At Work just can’t with Randell still on the lose and Montropolis in a new foundation of power.
Monsters at Work Season Two like A Bug’s Life, Coco (Despite only applying to Miguel by hiding his love of music from his family.) and Elio (Maybe) and all the Pixar twist villains will use the liar revealed cliche but in a good executed way: After Tylor serves as a comedian in Monsters’ Inc. making human kids laugh to harvest their laughs, he behind Mike and Sulley’s back starts scaring them to harvest both laugh and scream energy which despite its explosions can generate power for Monsterpolis in an excellent way and becomes a scarer at FearCo behind Mike, Sulley, Val and Mift’s backs after being manipulated by Johnny Worrington to do so and he will maintain this lie and keep his actions a secret from Mike, Sulley, Val and Mift and lie and cheat just as Sulley did for the scare games in Monsters’ University repeating the same mistakes he did for almost the entire season until either the middle or season finale which will lead to a plot-mandated friendship failure and third-act misunderstanding and later reconciliation between Tylor and Mike, Sulley and Val and the rest of MIFT. (After the truth is revealed, Mike: He lied! Tylor lied to us all! He lied and cheated just as Sulley did during the Scare Games! Sulley: We should have known! He really is just like Randall, Henry J. Waternoose and Johnny Worrington because he only cares about being a scarer and doesn’t care about how it effects human kids mentally and emotionally like we do!)
The Johnny twist disappointed me. I was so hoping they wouldnt go the cheap route of making an obvious bad guy. But they did and it was a massive shame. Cause they really could have made it so that he was just a competitor but not a villian. Just a man trying to make a source of power. But making him actively sabotage them and doing such a stupid plan feels so forced
@GnomAnimations You would have yo research around then. Maybe the show hasn't finished airing in your area to be put on Dusney Plus, I'm not sure how they decide what's what
Sorry to disagree, but this season while great at the beginning flopped so hard. Johnny didn't have to be a major antagonist, nor did he have to bring back Randall. It made no sense how Randall was able to come back and that's what makes the writing confusing.
@@angeldust1141 Which still doesn't make sense, the best they could've done was leave it up to Season 3 (Which would've been a better idea since it would've kept the fans engaged on how he came back).
@@angeldust1141 Not much a surprise since Season 2 was going into unknown waters while Season 1 was focusing more on the epilogue of Monster Inc. I'm happy that the ratings increased, but in this direction it doesn't do the older audience any justice and serves to a younger audience who's mostly in it for the 2D characters (This was made by the same studio that made Young Jedi Adventures so I'll cut it slack). While I got your attention I need to say: Recently, I found out that Javier Rios (4 arm bug monster in the same frat as Johnny) from Monsters University was at Monster Inc. It would've made a lot more sense if he was the one responsible for Randall returning or behind the sabatoge. He was at least mentioned in Season 2 so there's a set up for him. There were many avenues Monsters at Work could've took to bring back Randall and they chose the most stupidest one. This is an example of writer fatigue where the show has excellent plot points at the beginning only to get dragged down at the end because of the writing.
