I gotta point out, just as Daemon was quiet and never admitted to saying what he supposedly said in the tavern in episode 1, he again remained silent and never actually claimed to have sex with Rhaenyra either, he simply asked "What does it matter?"

Yeah, he just says it would’ve been best if he was Rhaenyra’s first time. He didn’t actually say he actually did.

I think it was a very calculated move and manipulation on Daemons part. The person that put the most effort into avoiding Daemon as the subject of conversation is gone.
Like they said that at this point it no longer matters if they did or didn't engage in " coupling " , it's in the grapevine and rumor mill.

Loved Daemon and Rhaenyra’s Assassin’s Creed disguises
I don't think Daemon is impotent - he is someone who acts a certain way, but ultimately is contending with everything internally. In ep.1 you could call it stress induced impotence, but in this episode I think he was concerned about Rhaenyra and started doubting how far they should go. Otherwise great episode - good job on the Easter eggs!

Definitely no Daemon consummation. It was about manipulation and power and once Rhaneyra took the power Daemon lost his and left.

I actually think it's obvious that there was no penetration between Daemon and Rhaenyra. Not sure why people think there was.

I wonder if Daemon may admit to things he may not have necessarily done so that he controls the narrative, rather than let rumours spread and become even more exaggerated.

Targaryens really like using rubies and Melisandre uses one to glamour herself. Wonder if there's any connection or similarity between them
Probably their connection to fire magic, and the religion of rhollar often goes hand in hand with worshipping dragon riders, the same way the red priests in essos started preaching for dany
It would explain the unique beauty and lure that comes with Targaryens since Melisandre used the power of the rubies to lure Stannis and others to follow the Lord of Light.

I’ll have to rewatch the brothel scene but when I was watching it live, it seemed to jump a few times from Rhaenyra and Daemon being side-by-side to face-to-face; that, coupled with some ambiguity we’ve had previously about things Daemon and done or said, make me wonder if it represents different perspectives and perceptions of events.

“We all grieve in our own ways” instead of a flat out “yeah I said it” always made me think Daemon really didn’t say what he was accused of. But owning it was more fuel to his fire. Just like this scenario. Viserys absolutely believes they were coupling. Alicent insisting they didn’t via Rhaenyra’s half truth doesn’t mean much to him. To him his brother isn’t a liar, he’s a manipulator 🤷🏽♀️
@@kennip24 I’m with you on that but he also knows that Rhanera actually denied it Dameon never admitted it he just didn’t deny it. Just as he didn’t admit or deny the king for the day either.

A common misconception, the "average" age if death was young. Average being the the total of all sums devided by the number of data points. Birth and childhood were dangerous, which is why families had so many children. The high level of infant mortality though, lowered the average age. If you survived past childhood, it wasn't uncommon to live to be 65/70ish
It's interesting how You guys keep pointing out the details of empty gloves, BUT skip on the fact that Viserys has been "balding" throughout the series. His wig has fewer and fewer goldie locks 🤣
I like how they are sticking close to the books but really fleshing it all out like we know how this story goes or the main beats of it at least but even some of those could very well be flawed

It's a tetanus infection from getting cut with rusty metal. There's no cure. He has all the classic signs of it.

They actually have a small mistake in the baratheon sigil in the series. There shouldn't be a crown in it, which only was added after Roberts rebellion

There always was a crown on the stag since the sigil orignally was owned by house Durradon who were kings of the Stormlands.

Another superb analysis. Wish you could of went into detail about the history of their brotherhood here 16:30 and how likely this bond is comparable to the sisterhood that Rhaenyra and Alicent share, remember Rhaenyras initial dream was for them ride on dragon back see the great wonders and eat only cake. They both strongly oppose each other but still hold a degree of reception that continues to endure.
Rhaenyra is in a spot with the tea. Drinking it would be admitting guilt.
