- A birding haven, the Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary in Ernakulam is the first bird sanctuary of Kerala and is home to innumerable species of birds. Over 300 species of birds have been recorded here and is the ideal place for birders and nature enthusiasts. It was Dr. Salim Ali, the Birdman of India and world-renowned ornithologist who recognised the unique avian life in Thattekkad. Established in 1983 and spread over 25 sq kilometers, the sanctuary is also known as Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary.

The background sounds are not of Thattekkad...There is a peocock crying in the background...Peococks are not found in Thattekkad

Did you use North American calls? I heard a few common NA birds at the start! Scientific name of Oriental Darter is incorrect - the one in the video points to Anhinga of Americas!

Many of these birds are already facing extinction because of the crows. Crows are the most dangerous bird in the birds category. crows are creating many ecological imbalances. Because crows are destroying other birds nests and eating their eggs and their babies. Crows numbers must be tackled. If the crows number increases, many other birds will face extinction. The Indian state of Kerala is a pathetic example. Many birds have already disappeared from Kerala because of the increasing number of crows. Pointless govt and policy makers are not caring such thing.
But responsible countries like KSA and Australia are forcibly trying to reduce the dangerous crows number by eliminating them. Yes the crows number must be tackled to keep ecological balance safe.
1st here on hi do you have like a long lens or something to see them upclose and personal.. Plz do not show anything scary like the creepy crawlies OK just birds and nothing else OK.. Bc if you do then I won't be able to view your videos OK am homophobic to the crawlies so plz know what you are doing OK..
Of course, we have long lenses. We are using high-end gears for shooting stills and videos. And no "creepy crawlies" in this video. There are few Butterflies, arent they beautiful
