    little tip that you might be able to put to use on the recoil plastic thats missing. Put some baking soda and superglue. maybe put a piece of tape as a backer and you can reform that bit of material thats missing. the mix of those 2 items create a super hard material that wont any time soon wear away. bit of black touchup paint and it would look almost like new. if you spent a few minutes sanding. it may end up looking like nothing ever happened.

      thank you James Ash, I appreciate you watching and your time. Having a parts mower is great, you might find out that you'll need a collection of at least a dozen or so different mowers to cover all your needs, just for a single part. That's why I would just rely on Ebay instead

    I can only imagine what that blade hit, it probably ended up by the street because he hit something big and assumed the vibration meant it was internally damaged. I always go for 3 or 4 turns on the rope too, only because I don't lose as much progress if it gets away from me doing the last 1 or 2.

    • @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE

      I think you might be right, the damage to the blade was insane before I cut it down.

      The girls below us got me to come look at their mower, a White and a nice one with a 14 horse opposed piston Vanguard but said the blades were shaking. That was a vast understatement. I kicked the blades in and grass chunks, rocks and dirt started flying. I yanked it up and one blade half was bent straight DOWN. Don't ask. I sure didn't. They got a new blade and I put it on. Deck needs work but I can't do it. Trying to get enough zip to do my own. Getting more geezerish is a pain in the body!

    Hey bro what's up? Whether you own a cheap or expensive piece of equipment, to me it dosen't matter once you're satisfied with the performance of the equipment. For me I have become accustomed to using a particular brand of equipment and I'm very satisfied with the quality an performance from said equipment. If I need a piece of equipment for a one time use I'll prefer to get a cheaper or even a used piece of equipment just for that purpose and call that a George.

    I have a mower almost like the but I didn't realize that after so long of use it actually shutdown from getting super hot, and it turned out that the oil was leaking out from the seal of the engine and so it was a big mess. we decided to just let it sit until we can get a chance to fix it.

    Hello, I have a question for you and the comments section. I have a Homelite Super 2 UT10696 chainsaw. I got it to start earlier this morning and it shut off. I tried to start it again and it won't start now. I've had issues with it for years and always got it taken to a shop but since I've been watching your videos I've been interested in fixing it myself. The air filter was a little dirty so I took it out for a second and it wouldn't start. The only thing I noticed that was odd was the primer bulb was getting very little fuel. I filled it up and it still doesn't get fuel or start. I'm assuming it's a carb issue now. Any other suggestions? Spark plug? Also it has been smoking when I start it but I spilled a little fuel so that could be why. Thank you for any help! I love the content!

    • @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE
      @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks for the question. This one is going to be interesting. If you're interested in getting it running again, I would recommend a "FULL" fuel system service, or repair. I would replace the fuel filter, lines, bulb, and of course the carb. Once that's done we'll worry about the spark plug and filter.

    I would rather have a higher quality machine. That little Briggs comes on lots of different mowers as you know. The recoil is junk , the carb clogs easily and you need to keep an eye on the oil. I would still take it over a Power More though .

    Man I watch all your videos very informational, I have a question: what lubricating spray do you use most often? What should I use to keep the recoil assembly lubricated also right now I use WD-40 specialist gel lube but your insight be nice

    • @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE
      @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE  ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you Jacob Ferfort, I used to use the cheap wd40 knock off, from supertech from wallyworld, however I now don't use any, I typically spray the old lube, and dirty away from the spring, and that's it. If you recall, would show spring the springs down, with lube, but I have found that this could cause a problem later one, so now it's just brake cleaner

    I know I always come off sideways but I've had to live hand to mouth all my life, never coming up to the low income standards the so-called guvmint set at poverty level so my outlook is a little different than most folks. That's why that if I needed to mow grass I wouldn't give a hoot what it was, as long as it cut. I'm still that was as all my stuff was either freebees or cost very little. I got the new splitter and new saw because I couldn't find anybody that was serious about selling a 2nd hand one. Then what money I ended up spending was just an investment. It may be old but it still does a million dollar job. This is home, not NASA! Blessings!
