I am so freaking GLAD to be living in the same era as Andrew Hozier Byrne, and to have that voice fill up my heart and ears. I haven’t listened to hozier since his first album. Heard Too Sweet on tik tok, found the album, found Francesca. I can’t stop listening to this song haha. The first listen i’ll never forget either, the melodies are so unpredictable and yet fit perfectly. The lyrics are specific and yet transcend to speak on all love stories. This is one of my favorite songs ever.

As an Irish person living outside of Ireland it is really nice to hear singers like Hozier and Dermot Kennedy that can really hold their own. The power in their voices is something else. Also credit where it’s due, Niall Horan has a great sound and he has a very melodic voice.

My word, when Hozier is belting out vocals (in the Bridge specifically) so magnificently that he has to be miles away from the microphone, its just a spiritual experience. This album will be phenomenal when it finally arrives!

3:19 I fell in love with the added vocals in the outro so I decided to listen to the original song again. It’s really faint, but I felt like I could hear the same vocals as in this video. This is why the outro is my favorite part of Francesca. There’s so much layers to it (the juxtaposition between the lines, “I would not change it each time” and “Heaven is not fit to house a love like you and I”) and now this!
Thanks to this, I discovered the vocals at the outro were there all along. ❤️ long live Hozier, the forest god
