I would disagree to be honest. This version sounds a bit too happy and romantic, which I feel the lyrics are neither. The singer in the song is not in a good state. He's falling asleep drunk on his couch, and obsessing over this woman and coming back to her when he's drunk. It's a song about love and lust yes, but it's showing the darker side of the controlling power of love, and obsession.

The year is 2016, I was 21 and I just had my heart broken for the very first time in my life. I remember listening to this song and crying myself to sleep every night. I was going through so much pain and heartache and this song really resonated with me. Every night I'd fall asleep, hoping he would call me or send me a text. Fast forward to now, I have grown so much as a person and I have healed. But every time I listen to this song, the pain and heartache resurfaces as if I just got my heartbroken. I would disagree to be honest. This version sounds a bit too happy and romantic, which I feel the lyrics are neither. The singer in the song is not in a good state. He's falling asleep drunk on his couch, and obsessing over this woman and coming back to her when he's drunk. It's a song about love and lust yes, but it's showing the darker side of the controlling power of love, and obsession.
