As always your videos are packed with practical lessons on boat building. It occurred to me that the totality of your videos together constitute what could easily be called a masters degree in traditional boat building with a dash of modern tech where it makes sense. The effort that that goes into the planning process is blended with examples of good workmanship. I look forward to seeing your progress toward completion with each new video.

Hello. A piece of fun work behind you. In Poland, boatbuilders use a tea spoon to compensate for the deck weight. The joint is then even and the same along its entire length, and the scoop cuts the filling flush with the edge of the strip. I keep my fingers crossed, a great job.

Mizzen looking beautiful with first coat of soup. Cabin top looking great with tape removed also. RedAviva is cominh along. Hurts a bit to hear Garrett saying good enough so much lately. He is surely to a point where getting under way is more important than insuring quality, by the sound of his comments. Although, his "good enough" is a far site better than a lot of folk's best efforts, so I'm sure it will last just fine. Definitely sounds as if he could use some more sea time and less saw dust time.
Keep the faith, guys. You're getting there.

Garrett, buy a wax ring from the hardware store and dip your screws thoroughly into the wax so they have a good coat on them. They will go in much easier, and the wax seals the screw in place.

Mark Bernier - Saw him using screws & thought , 'Wait . . . didn't they used to use dowels ?' So, I scroll down through comments looking for one to verify my suspicion . . . . & found yours: trunnel = treenail ! ! several spellings available . . . & is a wooden peg, pin or dowel used in fastening two pieces of wood together.
I built a picnic table and benches a few (like a lot of) years ago using dowels / no metal at all & it was firm and strong !

I was lconfused as in french "mat de misaine" which sounds like "mizzen" is the foremast, so when I heard about the mizzen mast I was surprised it was situated aft. So I realized tha mizzen mast it was what we call in french "mat d'artimon". So strange 😅. Nice video as usual. Keep the good work.

I have been watching your videos over the years, you seem to gave a lot of time on your hands to build your boat. Just currios , what do you do for a living ? How do you make a living ?
