You two are an inspiration you are both so genuine and natural its a refreshing change from others on the tube......keep posting enjoying it very much, Thankyou.
When you bored that passage for the exhaust and showed the beautiful thick strong deck core. Fiberglass owner died of envy, those who paid over a million wept and cried out in pain.
I am really glad to see that Garrett does not try to muscle the main mast into place during the next episode! I could see him saying that he needs no crane!
Getting closer everyday. Very exciting. Can sure tell though, this boat is testing your relationship with each other. When you guys make it through to the end, what a story you'll have. Very sweet indeed.
This is where you were when I came to visit at the end of February. I can't wait to see next week's video. Stepping the mast is going to be MONUMENTAL!
Agreed. Although I can appreciate attention to detail, and crooked stuff can tend to bother people who are perfectionists. Sometimes close enough....is, well.....close enough. Its not a perfect world! I did enjoy Ruths comment, " its the smidgenist of smidgens...." She is a hoot.
When you have the chance to do it "right", why not? You don't do some things as perfectly as possible and others not. Accuracy is an attitude that pays off.
Oh Mannnnn! Another week til we get to see the mast in place? You definitely know how to keep us on edge. But, of course the other tasks are just as important. Right? Another great video again. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Ruth and Garrett!! Its always so nice to wake up to a new episode! I hope you guys are doing well. Judging by the vlogs, sure does look that way. Only someone who builds things especially out of wood understands all the time and thought that goes into such a seemingly small detail. Others might skip over showing these ponderences, but that is what makes your episodes what they are, a joy to watch! Ive been here (maybe on the side lines) from the first episode, and its so exciting to see every stage of the build. The rigging looks amazing! Cant wait to see the mast stepped! Thanks Ruthie for all your behind the senes camera work! And lets not forget Swab, the unsung hero !!!
Mrs Ruth , you may just have the Bluest eyes I've ever seen ! and you're so very good at cliffhangers :( It was so cute seeing Swab keeping an eye on you 2 so you didn't leave without him in the Dingy ;-)
Ruthie, he may tease you about being a blonde, but when you have someone like you who is both smart and good looking as well as an immense help and supporter, he definitely knows how fortunate he truly is. You two are quite the formidable team!
It is always a joy to listen to someone talk about something they are passionate about. Hearing Garrett expound about the wood he is using is really great! Please don't ever leave those wonderful vignettes on the cutting room floor.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost the account password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
@Ignacio Bronson Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The excitement continues to build every episode better than the one before, can't wait til next week when the mast will finally be in place, unless you are going to tease us more. Keep up the good work and above all else Stay Safe.
Another great video guys, I have been with you since video No2 or 3, next week's episode is going to be a truly a great moment, I can't wait. 5 years of work to get to this point, you must be so proud. Edit - I just watched episodes 1 - 5 again ( they were much shorter back then), what an amazing journey you have come on. I can't belive it has been 5 years for that 1 to 2 year project :-)
Ruthie is gorgeous and smart, (with a knockout body to match) and we all know it at this end of the keyboard. 🥰.. Both of you are talented.. Making a boat from scratch. As an engineer, I know what a Herculean task that is. Well done both of you.
I have found that letting the 'sealant' set a bit before clamping prevents too much from squeezing out, lessening the chance of leaks. Chin up, butts working🤗
Hey just an idea, but with the waterline being so far below the rail, it seems like you might need to either put a swing gate in the rail, or get a hoist harness to get Swab in and out of the dingy when away from dock. Congratulations on all the years of hard work, you guys put out some of the best build content on You Tube, keep up the great work. Can't wait to see the mast go in next episode.
Garrett...OCD much? (Join the Club!) Love your "FIIK" measurement notation. Ruth... always look forward to your sincere and cheerful invitation to join, and your masterful editing. (But these cliffhangers? I've come to dislike any sentence starting with "Next time") But I'm already waiting. Thanks!
I started watching you guys from the beginning about 2 months ago and was literally watching Ep85 when this one dropped. So thank you, but what am I supposed to do now? Amazing effort and thank you for sharing it with us.
Been living vicariously through your posts. C'mon guy's, I want my mast up and rigged already! On a bit more serious note, thanks for sharing this journey with us. Regards
From my chair I think it’s still a little crooked, but I only have one eye, so what do I know. Love your videos, can’t wait until your out sailing. Stay safe
Its probably not the dingy that he loves its probably that hes figured out that when everyone gets in that thing were going somewhere thats his version of the car ride , he gets to stand there and put his nose in the wind and investigate his world for the day
Garrett, please forgive my silly question but Why use canvas over the mast collar? Especially if you anticipate it to leak? I'm sure it has something to do with following tradition but if it compromises integrity by letting water in why not try something different? Regardless I am absolutely blown away by your attention to detail and boat building ability. I truly love and look forward to the videos every week. Please keep up the fantastic work. Cheers!
Mrs Ruth, as soon as I see your video, I give UP. Good Luck and many sea miles under your keel. From Italy. Spartaco Giacometti. You know, REDIVIVA is an italian word, it means "alive again" rediviva.
Wow, what a teaseer closer. See y'all next week, for sure. BTW: most natural blondes are fairly smart. It is the bottle-blondes that give the bad name to the hair color. Q&A: Q: How many blonde jokes are there? A: Two, the rest are real/true stories. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Your sharing your approach to your problem solving is a gift. ☺️
I am so Friggin Stoked to see the mast raising!!!! You guys are awesome, swab looks great! Hold your ground swabbie!
Oh you guys are sooo wedge rich! I'm envious😜. I bet you'll blow it all on steeping the mast.
Garrett i don't typically comment but I am compelled to say you are a first-class craftsman. Watching you guys build this boat has been awe-inspiring.
the tow of you really do GREAT work
I am really glad to see that Garrett does not try to muscle the main mast into place during the next episode! I could see him saying that he needs no crane!
You guys are awesome !! Hurry up and take us for the journey of a lifetime around the globe.
We can’t wait 😊
Getting closer everyday. Very exciting. Can sure tell though, this boat is testing your relationship with each other. When you guys make it through to the end, what a story you'll have. Very sweet indeed.
I’m late to the party, but may I say that Ruth is indeed mightily awesome.
Every body all ready KNOWS how awesome she is....she is a KEEPER 🤓
So close! I can hardly wait for next week's video!
Wow, ripping stuff with a sabre saw...nice!
Great progress keep up the great work
Looking very awesome,!
This is where you were when I came to visit at the end of February. I can't wait to see next week's video. Stepping the mast is going to be MONUMENTAL!
slowly she becomes a real sailboat great job
Ruth, you are turning into a very good editor. Well done!
What I'm learning from watching boat building videos on TH-cam is, contrary to common belief, it seems you can never have enough holes in a boat 😳😉
I love to watch you two.
that is the coolest boat at your marina !!
Hey Garrett it's a exhaust flap....
It doesn't need a theodolite to line it up mate.
😁😂😀
Cheers Eric

She'll have wings soon!
Can't wait to see the mast in place!
Ruth, not just another pretty face. You guys are like a breath of fresh air. Love you guys! Can't wait to see next week's vid.
I am always a little sad that the episode is finished. Well done!
Oh Mannnnn! Another week til we get to see the mast in place? You definitely know how to keep us on edge. But, of course the other tasks are just as important. Right? Another great video again. Thanks for sharing.
The Mast! Very exciting. In another 2 years you'll be sailing gravidly! We hope!

@Ignacio Bronson It worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my account!
@Beau Jamie Happy to help =)
Oh Ruthie..... You teased us right to the end. Damn It! Hahahahahaha... Now we have to wait a whole week to see the wedges get placed?!! OMG..
Great story line!
The excitement continues to build every episode better than the one before, can't wait til next week when the mast will finally be in place, unless you are going to tease us more. Keep up the good work and above all else Stay Safe.
Thanks for the video, great job. Things are coming along well it will not be long before sailing the ocean blue.
It's starting to look like a sailboat. How awesome is that?
"Starting"????? Geez....
I firstly read: another salt & tar episode
...and this was exactly my thoughts when opened yt before *_*
I love watching your videos, y’all have built a beautiful Sail Boat.
Shoot, you left us all hanging with the crane....Bummer!.. Can't wait until next week. Great job. George & Debby, Texas City, TX

We ALL think you're awesome, Ruth! But, I know you ladies like to hear it said every now and then!!
Thanks Terry ;)
Looks amazing!!! I can't wait until next Friday.
And it also lets the sealant act more like a gasket when tightened after drying.
I think I'll keep my last bottle of Lagunitas for the next episode when the mast gets raised!
toujours un plaisir de vous regardez 👍👍😉
So cool your almost there. Can't believe it's been 5 years. Congratulations!
What a tease!

His next build will be a boat in a bottle. Lol. Nice build. At times i bet he just drives ruth. Nuts. 😊
looks great
Oh my gosh I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas, can't wait to see the mast in place.
i just love you guys thank you so much for sharing this Journey with us.
Não perco um vídeo. Abraço do Brasil.
Things are getting good now! It's going to be a long week waiting for the next episode.
Love your whole boat life-boat build thing. Query: what will you do for anchor and steaming lights on that wood mast?
At first I thought he was humming the intro to "Crazy Train" but now I don't know... Port looks good. It will be nice to see her mast up.
Sweet beans! Not sure why, but the exhaust hole was really satisfying to watch go in.
You are teasers. I was watching going "YES" and you end the show. Bugger. See you next Ep.
When I was in high school (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) we had a name for girls who did that.
Next week you will need some celebration champagne!
Garrett...OCD much? (Join the Club!) Love your "FIIK" measurement notation.
Ruth... always look forward to your sincere and cheerful invitation to join, and your masterful editing. (But these cliffhangers? I've come to dislike any sentence starting with "Next time")

Close Enough!! Take care guys.

O. M. G. I can’t wait!!!! Just release that video🤪!!
It's perfect.
Nice, that yacht is slick, I love the warm feel of wooden yachts.
That is not a boat!
Your about ready to step that mast?!?
it is a boat, but a really nice one, and if taken care of it will float for a hundred years
Mast time, wooohooo shit is getting real now!.... That'll be some visual motivation!
You could probably auction off the hull segment from the hole saw 👍
My dog Charlie also loves the dinghy. In his very small mind, every trip is likely going to the beach.
Good cliffhanger ending. See you next week!
Also, that is the fartingest dog out there.
Great video as usual :)
Hard to beat that old fir.
From my chair I think it’s still a little crooked, but I only have one eye, so what do I know. Love your videos, can’t wait until your out sailing. Stay safe
Can't wait till next week, but this weekend we go camping.
Its probably not the dingy that he loves its probably that hes figured out that when everyone gets in that thing were going somewhere thats his version of the car ride , he gets to stand there and put his nose in the wind and investigate his world for the day
well duh......
smidgiest of a smidge. 😊

Awe, come on, I was just getting excited and you make me wait another week Grrrrr :-)
Can’t wait for the stepping ceremony. I’m worried you may not have enough wedges🤣
You should consider changing the name of the boat to Old Ironsides, because I'm pretty sure cannon balls would bounce off that hull.
You’re such a tease, I still love Swab such a sweetheart. Love seeing the progression remind me when I use to own my big boat. A 50ft Spray replica.
Can't wait for next week!
looking good.
Your cruel Ruth .making us wait!🤣😱
Mrs Ruth, as soon as I see your video, I give UP. Good Luck and many sea miles under your keel. From Italy. Spartaco Giacometti. You know, REDIVIVA is an italian word, it means "alive again" rediviva.
Wow, what a teaseer closer. See y'all next week, for sure.

Thanks for sharing your journey.
Garrett praying to the boat building gods. 11:05.
Aaahh teasers, this is what I've been waiting for. I can wait though.
nice cliffhanger, damn you! lol
hi boat is looking good
He's humming the opening notes for Crazy Train.
Tease, showing you stepping the mast and then stop!
Can't wait to see next weeks episode
This is really good info. Thanks.
Garrett, I thought for sure you would be using Philips screws for the mast collar.
I dig a lot the sphinx-like dignity/imperturbability of your dog...(if I may, a bit smart ass too...)
That mature and calm dog was a pup when this all started.
@@tonycollins7965 oh that stings like the phrase " half a decade ago" ...:D
