wondering the same thing..looked like a lightweight oil..coulda even been ca glue, then activator..idk i’m just spitballing researching all i can before i make my first bench lathe..awesome video, not to mention i just purchased a cue from ars billiards, shipped straight to my door in south alabama! great customer service..this video confirms what i already know to be true..they are the real deal over on the west coast!
That would be amazing if I could send you guys my cue to be tapped, recently purchased a cue from Cuetec and it is needing to be tapped for some reason. Trying to find someone to do it as I already bought the tap for the pool cue. This is amazing work!
Question only: Wouldn't it have been beneficial to center drill the repair plug (1/32", for example) prior to epoxy & insertion as a vent for the epoxy to prevent the hydraulic pressure that was bein created?
Nice job 👍 what's the name of that white piece you use between shaft and chunk ? I'm desperatly trying to buy one for my DIY lathe but I can't figure out what it's called 🫤 thanks !
The original joint ring was off. Not much you can do about that without cutting it off and replacing it. I tried the best I could with what I was working with. 😆 Phanolic joints are very strong and long lasting. Especially compared to wood threads. Nothing beats the durability of a brass insert though.
@@arsbilliards I started drilling a small hole through the joints inserts when I built shafts. The hole will prevent hydraulic lock, also the epoxy will seal the back end of the hole when inserted in the shaft and you have to drill and bore the size for inserts or to cut threads.
What a Nicely done result mate!
Thanks appreciate it 😁
What is the brown and white stuff you wiped on the cue? 14:03

ca reply on a couple comments down says the brown paste is pitas true grit polishing compound…if i remember correctly
Give it back in better condition than they gave it to you. Customer for life.
thanks for the kind words 😁
So well done I'm SPEECHLESS!

Extremely good work!

that was amazing
Awesome job as always!
Thanks 😁 appreciate your feedback
very nice video, can you tell me what the two polishing compounds where that you used.?
Pita's true grit abrasive paste
What is the type of epoxy used in this video please.
I would cut a glue release channel down the length. This would resolve the compression push back and not put so much stress n the shaft walls.

collett
What kind of compounds are you using?
Are those buttress threads? What type of wood did you epoxy in; Osage Orange?
Nice repair!
It's linen phanolic
Thanks 😁
Very nice finish to the cue what wax do you use to get them results
thanks, its Pita True Grit Abrasive paste
Thanks seems to give a good finish
What kind of glue do you use?
Total boat flex epoxy
@@arsbilliards thank you !!
What size hole do you drill for 3/8-10 tap?
Welk materiaal heb je gebruikt om de nieuwe draad te maken is toch geen hout. mvg
What was the white paste, polishing compound?
Yes it is
I don't twist like that. I have brass included in titanium. textolite is brittle. and poorly centered(((

What’s the cue lathe?
What kind of mini lathe your using?
That was a cue smith deluxe
wheres the hydraulic lock?
I slowly pushed the plug in so the epoy and air could leak out.

@@playpool12fyao huh 🤔 I've done that before but for some reason it didn't cross my mind to do that here 😆 luckily the hydrologic lock wasn't too bad.
POGGERS 😮😮😮😮😮😮
