100 wolves and Kage vs the world. Set up five different breeding sites too increase production, with a massive wolf army they can take down anything and make more as you go. The devs should add armor for wolves and you should be able to get a lox to ride, use it has a beast of burden
I'm pretty sure that you can have 2 cages side by side. And they still breed. Like they don't need to touch.
This way you can just put 1 wolf in each cage.
Make a double Kage for them... so same thing again and remove the middle wall...

Just set up multiple breeding locations, the more wolves the better. Doesn't matter if one dies if you're going to get a dozen more before the end of the day
Found and tamed a 2 star boar today. Look for them during storms. It was daytime in the meadow.
I'm exciting to see where they end up going with taming, hopefully Lox will have some of the same mechanics eventually.

If you can get the base working, you can take two of the wolfs from below, and replicate that on the other side of the wolf pen, double your output. You'll have 50 wolves in no time!
Just put a wooden floor above the enclosure kage. There's a bug where wolves can eat meat even when it is on a wooden floor above them. The distance that they can eat meat above them is at most 4 blocks, kinda like how breeding works. Anything above 5 blocks, they can't eat.
I've seen this mentioned before but never got it to work.

@@Fuujikage @Michael Ray Thanks for the experiment! The biggest difference I see is that you have "free" wolves, but I'm trying to feed my breeder wolves stuck in a "box".
What I've noticed with them is that orientation really seems to matter: If they can't look in the direction of the food then they can't eat it.
But that does not seem to matter if the food is nearly inside their model, but apparently matters when it's further above them.

The flooring in your spawner is wrong. The way you built it was for the boars. The wolf pups are longer and need the quarter floot tiles both on one side! #Wolfbreeder ... an additional tip, you are able to tame and breed the deathsquitos, bloodbags are the way to do it. #ArmyOfDeath

Likely if you had put all 4 of the 1/4 floor pieces in and then removed 2. I have seen just beams on the floor. Also instead of the roof beams he just put a half beam with a half wall on it, but not on the end, but slightly into the beam. You should kill the wolf stuck in the door and let a pup grow. You need to make a shoot going to the breed box as it makes it easier to push them. Most use a 22 degree roof as a ramp to get over the beam.

What if you put a normal wolf in first, then a 2 star wolf in 2nd? What that would do is leave plenty of room for the 2nd wolf to enter the breeding chamber. What you are doing is getting a 2 star in 1st then there is no room for the 2nd Two Star.

I did'nt get the need for the thing for the pups to drop. I mean, if you want more wolves, isn't it better to just throw a shit ton of meat in the pit for them to breed a lot, also faster?
if you breed boars on the other side of the pit would that make a auto feeding for wolfs since they drop raw meat on death or do they leave tamed/ fresh breed boars alone

kage have you tried doing the quarter tiles right next to each other like in firespark's video?
Greetings, in my case i cut a trench around my meadow area, enclosing a Large-Large area around my base. Boar, Deer and Neck spawn frequently in this area and the wolves feed and breed as they go (my tame Boar are in a pen away from the wolves just in case ). The enclosed area is large enough that all event spawns occur inside the boundary set by the trench and my free running wolf packs (atm 80+) take all Mobs out quickly Including Trolls, Draugar and Oozes, I've yet to have the Drake event so i cant speak to how well they will survive....yet.
The Reason: I am attached to the Quaint look of my village base and didn't want walls and fortifications to detract from the look.... so i put those so far away from my base i couldn't see them, and the Wolves deal with the dangers i can see. I still have round pen parts or Core Wood split rail fences around some areas, but that's about it. the area's i tend to cross the trench often i built a half bridge on my side and keep a chest with core wood at each location so i can easily snap in the bridge floor and everything is pre smoothed for easy passage with a Cart. it is not uncommon to take 10 or more wolves out with me while mining/woodcutting and just running amok. Taking a wolf pack out puts a whole new meaning to "Meat Run".
one 2 star wolf and one no star should fit in, still get 2 star pups ;-)
