So, from this video I conclude that what we need in identifying the distinctive features of vowels are only two parts of our articulation, they are our lips and tongue. There are four identifications of distinctive features of vowels. They are raising or lowering the tongue, advancing or retracting the tongue, rounding or unrounding the lips, and providing tense or lax.
