    What about describing diphthongs
    That has a combination of two different positions and hight ?

    • @dr.mohsinewahib9023
      @dr.mohsinewahib9023  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A diphthong is a combination of two vowels and each one has its features.

    Is that mean if (in the exam ) if we give to front vowel (+front ) instead of -back u consider it false answer ???

      @dr.mohsinewahib9023  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is a phonetic convention that is meant to be respected..

    Thank you so much prof.WAHIB for your effors in injury time 94'
    I am still confused with giving feature of a vowel, Let me take an example of [i], is it correct to describe it as (-back -low) or (+front +high) or (-back -mid) instead of -back +high .
    Or we have to descible a vowel [i] as : +high -mid -low -back - central -rounded +tense .
    Do we have to respect the orderly of this features?

    • @dr.mohsinewahib9023
      @dr.mohsinewahib9023  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The order is meant to be respected... [i] = +high - back - round +tense

    thank you so much prof , you simplify things for me , but i still have one question . As i have understood ,to indecate that a certain vowel is mid low one you write (-high ) feature example of 'c' vowel . tell now everything is clear but what about mid high vowel, like 'o' vowel, would it be described as plus high , or -low !!!

    • @dr.mohsinewahib9023
      @dr.mohsinewahib9023  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the vowel "o" is a mid back rounded vowel
