Mets signing Soto would be great…. If Alonso is resigned and hitting behind him. Soto needs a big bat behind him. Makes him better and would make Alonso even better
The Dodgers might be more interested in Fried rather than Burnes just because most of their starting pitchers are righties, other than Kershaw. It's nice to have both righties and lefties to give teams different looks, and certain teams fare better against one or the other as a team. The Dodgers, for example, were very strong against lefties this year, as a team.
that's interesting. I think Burnes is probably the best option available and the Dodgers are going to be interested in getting healthy pitchers, left or right. But you could be right. I tend to be wrong
With all due respect, in your world are there just 10 MLB teams? You haven’t mentioned the Orioles, who will certainly try to sign both a top pitcher and a right hitting outfielder if Santander doesn’t resign. The Nationals settling for Joc Pederson is ludicrous. Both teams have a ton of young talent who will be competitive.
First of all, yes. There are only 10 teams. Secondly, I think the Orioles will be very active but more in the trade market. I think they will make a real run at Burnes and they see there is a window of opportunity to win right now. Will talk about the Orioles this week.
The Phillies better win a WS or two with Harper, 'cause just getting there ain't gonna cut it for Philly fans or Philly ownership. No WS titles in 13 years can't be a success, no matter his personal numbers.
Hate to say it but they need a major retool. They going backwards and regressing. And I got a ton of respect for Harper. I got him top 3 player in MLB. But the team is getting older and loosing becomes contagious and demoralizing.

Prediction shows are addictive even though we all know it's a total crapshoot. Fun, though! Thanks for the effort.

This is so fun and thought provoking
With you on Christian Walker and Alonso ( among others). I also can't figure out the Jays' strategy. Looks entirely piecemeal and reactive to me.
Posey is the president of baseball ops for the giants

You heard him say it... Sully is juicing!
Put an asterisk next to this episode
@LockedOnMLB Yeah you right. You'll still get in the HOF though.
O's should pass on Burns, sign Freid, Buhler, Scott, Bregman, and trade for Skubal, Crochet, or Gilbert.
Why in the name of heaven would the Tigers deal Skubal?
@LockedOnMLB : Skubal has 1yr left on contract. Don't see Detroit paying the hefyt price to resign, but the O's new ownership will.

@@Standdividedfalltogether Agree. Can you believe the 2025 season will be Harper's 7th in Philly? Team age is a legitimate concern.
