This one's for the boys! Slowly but surely we're building up our Alaska homestead. And we're so excited to see the progress! Come along as we build our boys a DIY TREE FORT! A triangular shaped fort built 10ft up, anchored to three Alaskan birch trees. Their fort has a metal roof made from left over scraps from our chicken coop build & a homemade ladder. We're also tapping birch trees for the 1st time on our property & tasting the sap! Sometimes we have to slow down & take time away from the homestead chores & projects to reward the kiddos for their contributions. Joe is my kind of man!! When he builds things, he doesn't halfway do it. He makes it last and does it right. When I was a tiny girl, my daddy was the same way. If my precious daddy built it, I knew that it was safe. It it did fail, it wasn't due to his lack of trying. GOOD JOB JOE!!

Oh my goodness! Lexi, I love your fort bedroom! I was yes look at that creation that Joe made out of Fort Magic !! Thank you Tina for the kind words about me and the gift for Parker. Pulling the roof up would have been a good teaching moment for the boys to demonstrate mechanical advantage of levers and pulleys. But then I broke my back building a tree house for my kids.

I definitely see the bunny with that little ear stuck out.
Ok this tree house roof project reminded me of so many family projects in my youth. We were a family of 13 and my Dad was a carpenter. He and my older brothers and my Mom built onto our small house to make room for us all. That was one of many projects over the years. I was too young to help so I was the gopher. Go get me some water, the hammer, whatever. Lots of fun and memories.

My grandparents had a triangle tree house in the middle of 3 birch trees at the family cabin, when we were kids, we loved it. The boys are going to creste some amazing memories in this tree fort. I saw a bunny first thing. The outtakes are so good!!
I wouldn’t be surprised if Tony (Tina) sneaks away for some alone time to the forte with a hot cup of coffee when the boys are resting to just be amongst nature & watch the wildlife & sunrises/sunsets.
